  • Patent number: 9436858
Abstract: Disclosed are a radio frequency locating system and method, which efficiently solve the problem of precise locating a moving target tag in a complex environment by using a method where location information is provided for a mobile tag by using low-cost fixed active RFID tags in place of a plurality of readers requiring network connection, and the location information of the mobile tag is directly transferred to a reader at the center of a locating area from a long distance by using a mobile or fixed location tag. The present invention uses a long-distance coordinator and clock information in a transmission instruction to coordinate and schedule communication time between the mobile tag and the location tag, thereby ensuring a super long battery life of the mobile tag and the location tag.

  • Patent number: 9430684
Abstract: A license detector system enables a person such as a police officer to monitor vehicles on the road to ensure drivers have valid licenses. Within each valid license is an RFID tag which contains specific information and each RFID tag is able to send that information to a detector when requested. To use the system, the police officer aims the detector at a vehicle, initiates the signal to be received by the RFID tag within the license and waits to receive a signal back from the RFID tag. If a signal is received, then a valid license has been detected within the vehicle. However, if no signal or an invalid signal is received by the detector, then no one, specifically the driver of the car, has a valid license. Upon discovering such information, the police officer should be justified in stopping the vehicle and taking the necessary police action.

  • Patent number: 9412266
Abstract: A smart home network system includes a number of traditional home devices having wireless communication function, a smart gateway, and a plurality of signal conversion devices. When the smart gateway wants to control a traditional home device, the smart gateway sends a cable control signal to a related signal conversion device in the area where the target traditional home device is placed. The related signal conversion device receives the cable control signals from the smart gateway, and converts the cabled control signal into a wireless control signal conforming to the wireless communication function type of the target tradition home device, then transmits the wireless control signal to the target traditional home device. Therefore, the traditional home devices with wireless communication function can be connected into the system, and be controlled by the smart gateway.

  • Patent number: 9408316
Abstract: Wearable electronic devices that provide adaptive physical coupling between electrically coupled components are described. Adaptive physical coupling advantageously accommodates different user sizes, forms, and movements and enhances the overall ergonomics of a wearable electronic device. Adaptive physical coupling also introduces stresses and strains on electrical pathways between the electrically coupled components. Accordingly, the wearable electronic devices include strain mitigation systems that mitigate physical strains on the electrical pathways between electrically coupled components. An exemplary strain mitigation system includes a guide structure that is pivotally coupled to a first substantially rigid structure of the wearable electronic device and slideably coupled to a second substantially rigid structure of the wearable electronic device. The guide structure provides a surface/channel over/through which electrical pathways extend between electrically coupled components.

  • Patent number: 9390594
Abstract: A smart safe include one or more note validators. Access to the note validators and internal workings of the smart safe is defined by an applicable level of security at the smart safe. The applicable level of security may be dependent on whether the smart safe is experiencing an error condition and/or the identification of a user trying to access the smart safe. By allowing some users limited access to the note validators, the users may be able to resolve some error conditions without compromising the integrity of notes stored within the smart safe and without relying on dedicated service personnel to resolve the error condition at the smart safe.

  • Patent number: 9342965
Abstract: In one example embodiment, a mobile computing device provides assistance services for visitors at events which involve large crowds and long distances. The mobile computing device may be used to read a unique identifier for a visitor from an identification token for the visitor. The mobile computing device may then send visitor location data for the current location of the visitor to a remote command center. The mobile computing device may then receive leader location data from the remote command center. The leader location data may identify a last known location for a leader of a group of visitors that includes the visitor. After receiving the leader location data, the mobile computing device may compute directions from the current location of the visitor to the last known location of the leader, and the mobile computing device may display those directions on a map. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9324218
Abstract: A personal alarm light operates as a multi-purpose emergency tool having a power pack of batteries powering a white light beam, as well as a radially emanating red light ring. An audible alarm has a loud, typically high-pitched oscillating sound. A resonance chamber amplifies the sound, which emanates from apertures delivering sound radially away from the resonance chamber. Crowns on each end of the tool provide regions of reduced area and alternating relieved sections about the circumference thereof, in order to provide increased impact pressure from the points when used as hammers to break glass, or as strikers to cut through fabric or other sheet materials.
