  • Patent number: 9973349
Abstract: An encapsulation address of a first switching device is set so as to be different only in a mask bit in comparison with that of a second switching device. A learning information control unit of a third switching device does not learn the correspondence relation between a source customer address and a source encapsulation address in a first case and a second case. The first case corresponds to a case in which an encapsulated frame is received at an upper-link port and an encapsulation address corresponding to the source customer address is acquired from an address table. The second case corresponds to a case in which a difference between the source encapsulation address and the encapsulation address acquired from the address table lies only in the mask bit.

  • Patent number: 9775070
Abstract: A CCE+ number allocation method reduces the ACK/NACK (Acknowledgment/Negative Acknowledgment) collision probability in a mixed system containing an LTE (Long Term Evolution) system and an LTE+ (Long Term Evolution Advanced) system. A CCE (Control Channel Element)+ number is defined by selecting a number from CCE numbers of the CCE to contain PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) allocated in a resource element region constituting CCE+ where PDCCH+ is arranged. This can prevent overlapped selection of the CCE number and the CCE+ number even when the PDCCH and the PDCCH+ are simultaneously transmitted, thus making it possible to reduce the collision probability of ACK/NACK correlated to the CCE number and the CCE+ number.

  • Patent number: 9723137
Abstract: Implementing a multimedia calling line identification presentation service. A multimedia resource notification module obtains a storage address of a multimedia resource that is stored by a resource storage entity and that is subscribed to by a calling terminal, and sends the storage address of the multimedia resource to a resource playing entity. A service management module establishes a media channel between the resource playing entity and the called terminal for playing the multimedia resource. Establishing the media channel includes sending multimedia session information to the called terminal, the multimedia session information having been received by the service management module from the resource playing entity. Establishing the media channel also includes sending negotiated multimedia session information to the resource playing entity, the negotiated multimedia session information having been received by the service management module from the called terminal.

  • Patent number: 9723138
Abstract: From one perspective, an apparatus receives a request for a calling terminal device to initiate a session with a called terminal device. Based on the request, the apparatus obtains a storage address of the multimedia resource, and sends the address to the called terminal device. Based on sending the address the apparatus receives, from the called terminal device, a message indicating the called terminal device is playing the multimedia resource, and a message indicating that the called terminal device is off-hook. The called terminal device stops playing the multimedia resource when off-hook. From another perspective, a terminal device receives a storage address of a multimedia resource from a service management entity. The terminal device downloads the multimedia resource from a resource storage entity, and plays the multimedia resource as part of ringing, and before detecting that it is off-hook. The terminal device ceases playback after detecting it is off-hook.

  • Patent number: 9692615
Abstract: A facsimile transmission device implements silence suppression based on a state of a facsimile call and detected facsimile signals. A decision process implemented in the facsimile device can determine when silence suppression should be enabled. The facsimile device may be an IP media gateway connected between a PSTN and an IP network, or may be an IP endpoint. The determination of when to enable silence suppression can be based on the state of sending or receiving facsimile transmissions including facsimile operations and/or signaling. The decisions can be based on the type of facsimile transmission including G3 type or SG3 type facsimile transmissions. By enabling silence suppression during facsimile transmissions, significant reductions in bandwidth requirements can be achieved for the facsimile transmission while maintaining facsimile transmission quality.

  • Patent number: 9661112
Abstract: An improved system and method for network switching that provides the ability to automatically and seamlessly migrate policies for network hosts under certain conditions to local or remote switch ports. The improved switch automatically migrates switch policies for virtual and physical hosts from a source port to a destination port when hosts have been physically moved or replaced. For elements that have failed, the improved switch also migrates host network policies for both physical hosts and virtual machines when the old host network policy will maintain serviceability of the element when applied to the new port.
