  • Patent number: 12356016
Abstract: An apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry configured to receive a splitting direction syntax element, a first merge triangle index syntax element, and a second merge triangle index syntax element that are associated with a coding block of a picture. The coding block is coded according to a triangular prediction mode and partitioned into a first prediction unit and a second prediction unit according to a split direction. A first merge index identifies first motion information in a merge candidate list of the coding block. A second merge index identifies second motion information in the merge candidate list of the coding block. The coding block is reconstructed according to first prediction samples of the first prediction unit and second prediction samples of the second prediction unit. A value of the second merge triangle index syntax element is based on the first merge index.

  • Patent number: 12348879
Abstract: An arrangement of one or more micro cameras are used in conjunction with computer controlled illumination to create a high-throughput microscope able to operate without the need of expensive scanning stages. A single unit contains a plurality of sensors, lenses tiled in such a way to cover a significant fraction of the desired field of view in a digital single acquisition. Mechanical stages and patterned illumination can then be used in conjunction with the system to enhanced the imaged depth of field, or create an acquisition stack to enhance the information acquired. Multiple units can be combined to obtain images of a single sample from different angles. The absence of mechanical stages makes the imaging system ideal for use in scenarios that require the sample to be in a climate and/or environmentally controlled chamber.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and method capable of inhibiting an increase in a load on reproduction processing. Scalable decoding information is generated on the basis of a depth of a slice in the G-PCC content and a dependency relation between slices and is stored in the metadata area of the content file that stores the G-PCC content. Further, on the basis of the scalable decoding information stored in the metadata area of the content file, any slice of the G-PCC content is extracted from the content file and is decoded. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, an information processing device, an information processing method, or the like.

  • Patent number: 12339465
Abstract: A novel class of imaging systems that combines diffractive optics with 1D line sensing is disclosed. When light passes through a diffraction grating or prism, it disperses as a function of wavelength. This property is exploited to recover 2D and 3D positions from line images. A detailed image formation model and a learning-based algorithm for 2D position estimation are disclosed. The disclosure includes several extensions of the imaging system to improve the accuracy of the 2D position estimates and to expand the effective field-of-view. The invention is useful for fast passive imaging of sparse light sources, such as streetlamps, headlights at night and LED-based motion capture, and structured light 3D scanning with line illumination and line sensing.
