  • Patent number: 9648110
Abstract: One or more devices are provided that receive a request, from a client device, to connect to an operator network. The request is received at a request time. The one or more devices obtain information identifying a connect time at which the client device is permitted to connect to the operator network and determine whether the request time matches the connect time. If the request time is determined to be different than the connect time, the one or more devices reject the request to connect to the operator network based on the request time being determined to be different than the connect time. If the request time is determined to match the connect time, the one or more devices establish a communication session between the client device and the operator network based on the request time being determined to match the connect time.

  • Patent number: 9619662
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing virtual network pairs between virtual machines and other devices. In one aspect, a method includes associating each of a plurality of different virtual machine network addresses with a respective host machine network address; receiving, from a sender, a request for a source virtual machine to communicate with a destination virtual machine; determining that the source virtual machine is authorized to communicate with the destination virtual machine; selecting, from the associations, a host machine network address for the destination virtual machine; generating a token based at least partly on the selected host machine network address and on a secret key of the destination virtual machine, wherein the secret key is not known by the source virtual machine; and sending the selected host machine network address and generated token to the sender.

  • Patent number: 9602208
Abstract: A content distribution system may include a headend server and media converters, the headend server being configured to distribute content items to user devices via the media converters and gateway devices. Each of the media converters may include a media converter cache and may be coupled to the headend server and a subset of the gateway devices, where each of the user devices is communicatively coupled to one of the gateway devices. The headend server may be further configured to determine one of the content items that is expected to be requested by a group of the user devices, determine one of the media converters that is coupled, via the subset of the gateway devices, to a largest number of user devices in the group of the user devices, and coordinate storing the one of the content items in the media converter cache of the one of the media converters.

  • Patent number: 9602460
Abstract: A method and system for managing electronic messaging which includes monitoring an electronic message generated by a plurality of users. The electronic message including content. A criteria is determined for setting a status of the electronic message, and the criteria includes a change of the content of the electronic message. A change of the content of the electronic message is detected based on the criteria. The status of the electronic message is set, and the status is indicated to the plurality of users of the electronic message.

  • Patent number: 9565072
Abstract: A framework for maintaining a plurality of server instances in batches to ensure continuity of service is described herein. In accordance with one aspect, quantities of the server instances are selected in an order based on a usage frequency of the server instances with respect to a median usage frequency of the plurality of server instances. The selected server instances may be logically quarantined for maintenance, one batch at a time. Each batch of server instances may be returned to service when the server instances of the batch are successfully maintained while logically quarantining a next batch of server instances.

  • Patent number: 9549318
Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling a computing device to be registered and authorized for network access, while deferring device hardware address capture until a later time. Subsequently, when the computing device connects to a network location at which the hardware address can be detected registration and authorization can be fully completed. In some cases, the subsequent completion can be performed automatically and without user intervention.

  • Patent number: 9509615
Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems include a first host device determining that a first packet from a first virtual machine (VM) within the first host device is to be transmitted to a second VM on a second host device and that the first host device and the second host device each transmit or receive packets via ports within a first link aggregation group (LAG). In response to determining that the first host device and the second host device each transmit or receive packets via ports within the first LAG, the first host device transmits the first packet from a first synchronization port of the first host device to a second synchronization port of the second host device. The first and second synchronization ports are excluded from sharing a common LAG with any ports of another host device.

  • Patent number: 9350666
Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems configure a first set of ports of a first host device and a second set of ports to be included within a first link aggregation group (LAG). The first and second host devices further configure, respectively, a first synchronization port that does not share a common LAG with the second host device and a second synchronization port that does not share a common LAG with the first host device. The first host device receives a first packet destined for a virtual machine running on the second host device, the first packet including source and destination information. The first host device determines from the source or destination information that the first packet is destined for a virtual machine running on another host device. In response, the first host device forwards the packet via the first synchronization port to the second host device.

  • Patent number: 9124673
Abstract: Technology for reducing delay in data streaming at a wireless device while improving re-buffering and video quality is disclosed. A missing data segment can be detected based on an out-of-order data segment being received in a plurality of data segments from a network element in a wireless network. A fake acknowledgement (ACK) can be sent to the network element in the wireless network, based on the context information, acknowledging that the missing data segment was received at the wireless device. The out-of-order data segment without the missing data segment can be provided for display at the wireless device.
