Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for correlating messages from asynchronous message queues using polling with exponential backoff and jitter. A service provider, such as an electronic transaction processor for digital transactions, may provide computing services to users, which may be used to engage in interactions with other users and entities including for electronic transaction processing. When utilizing these transaction processing services, merchant locations may utilize payment terminals, such as card and NFC readers, as well as point-of-sale devices, each of which may independently send transaction messages to the service provider. To correlate these messages from different queues, the messages may be stored when received in an intermediary storage independently and the other storage polled at intervals with exponential backoff to identify corresponding messages and data. Further, jitter may be introduced to the polling process to stagger polling events for different messages.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium stores therein an information processing program that causes a computer to execute a process including, acquiring a video of a person who grasps an item to be registered in an accounting machine, by analyzing the acquired video, calculating a score indicating a level of reliability of the item that is contained in the video with respect to each of a plurality of possible items that are set previously, acquiring information on the item that is registered in the accounting machine by the person by operating the accounting machine, based on the calculated score, selecting a possible item from the possible items, and based on the selected possible item and the acquired information on the item, generating an alert indicating abnormality of the item that is registered in the accounting machine.

Abstract: Techniques for predicting items for purchase at a point of sale (POS) system. These techniques include identifying one or more images, captured at a POS system, of one or more items for purchase. The techniques further include identifying a measured characteristic of the one or more items for purchase, the measured characteristic including at least one of: (i) a first weight measured using a weight sensor associated with the POS system or (ii) a footprint measured using one or more pressure or weight sensors associated with the POS system. The techniques further include predicting the items for purchase based on analyzing the one or more images using a machine learning (ML) model, and validating the predicted items for purchase using the measured characteristic.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for contactless checkout in a retail environment including a security pedestal located at an entrance or exit to a retail location. The system further includes a scanning device that is communicably coupled with the security pedestal. The self-checkout system and methods may also include a processing system that is configured to receive a list of items from the security pedestal and customer identification code from the scanning device. The system and method is configured to allow for a customer to scan his purchases at the security pedestal and pay for the purchases through the use of the customer identification code generated, preferably, using the customer's personal computing device.

Responsive to receiving an indication from a device associated with a user of an online system that the device is either within a defined vicinity from a location of a retailer or physically present at the location of the retailer, the online system applies a user targeting computer model trained to generate, based on user data and ordering data, a score for the user indicative of a likelihood of the user accepting an offer for the scheduled delivery of the order. User profile(s) are retrieved that correspond to the individual(s) within the vehicle. A customized menu of products and/or services is generated based on user profile information and one or more menu items are pre-selected from the customized menu based on contextual information derived from at least one of audio or digital image data received during the drive-through transaction. A menu presentation computing device, located in the drive-through, is controlled to present the pre-selected menu item(s) and the customized menu.
