Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for validating products that are added to a shopping cart. A shopping cart that can include product validation hardware and a controller, the product validation hardware including motion sensors positioned at least along a top perimeter of the shopping cart and at least one weight sensor positioned inside the shopping cart. The shopping cart can receive, from one or more of the motion sensors, motion data when the product is detected to be entering a top horizontal plane of the shopping cart, receive, from the at least one weight sensor, weight change data that is collected in real-time as the product settles inside the shopping cart, and correlate the weight change data with the motion data to generate a weight signature over time for the product. The weight signature can be used to validate the product that is added to the shopping cart.

Abstract: A method operates a sales device for goods. The method includes: detecting, using a shelf with automatic removal monitoring, a removed item and determining item data of the removed item; reading out a customer identification number of a customer in a vicinity of the shelf from which the removed item has been removed; receiving, by a controller, the item data of the removed item and the customer identification number; adding, with the controller, the item data of the removed item and the customer identification number to a list of items intended for payment; and detecting, with a detector, items for which a payment transaction is to be executed. The detector has at least one sensor and an evaluator and for detecting articles, at least the data of the sensor and the list of items intended for payment are being made available to the evaluator as input variables.

Abstract: A kiosk is disclosed. For example, the kiosk includes a graphical user interface (GUI), a payment processing module to receive payment, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform operations. The operations include receiving a plurality of job requests, providing a total cost of the plurality of job requests on the GUI, receiving confirmation of the total costs via the GUI, receiving a single payment for the plurality of job requests via the payment processing module, and executing the plurality of job requests.

Abstract: A computer vision card reader and/or point of sale device is described. The device is configured to sense when a user inserts a card into a card reader and to determine when a user departs or is about to depart from the device without retrieving the card. The device may issue an audible or visible alert to the user, reminding the user to retrieve the card. The device may additionally send a notification to a mobile device associated with the user that reminds the user that he has left a card at the point of sale. In some embodiments, message sent to the user contains a code and, upon entry of the code, the point of sale or card reader device returns the card to the user.

An example apparatus includes a dictionary including associated product descriptions and barcodes, interface circuitry, and processing circuitry to execute machine readable instructions to obtain purchase details and barcodes corresponding to a receipt, the purchase details including receipt product descriptions, generate a search query that includes a first receipt product description of the receipt product descriptions, a list of barcodes corresponding to the barcodes, and a store identifier associated with the receipt, execute a search against the dictionary using the search query to identify a barcode from the list of barcodes that corresponds to the first receipt product description, and in response to identifying the barcode that corresponds to the first receipt product description, associating the barcode and the first receipt product description and adding the association to the dictionary.

One method includes: receiving information identifying the mobile devices of one or more patrons and information identifying a table indicia as a result of associating the mobile devices of the one or more patrons with a table indicia; receiving requests for dining items, transaction amounts for each dining item, and payment preferences associated with each dining item from each of the one or more patrons; determining the amounts owed by each patron, based on the dining items requested by each patron, transaction amounts for each dining item, and the payment preference of each patron for each requested dining item; and outputting the amount owed by each patron to an electronic storage medium or display of the mobile device of each patron.

Abstract: Computer vision grouping recognition is provided by receiving training images that include unpackaged items; identifying, by a computer vision model, a candidate identities for unpackaged items in a given training image; receiving, from a human user, a selected identity for the unpackaged item as feedback for the candidate identity; constructing a confusion matrix tallying matches and mismatches between candidate identities and the selected identities as analyzed across the training images for each unpackaged item; identifying at least one product category that includes at least a first unpackaged item and a second unpackaged item that the confusion matrix indicates as being misidentified for each other by the computer vision model; and reconfiguring the computer vision model to identify the product category instead of the first unpackaged item or the second unpackaged item when analyzing a given image including one or more of the first unpackaged item or the second unpackaged item.

Abstract: A modular inventory management system is included. The modular inventory monitoring system may include a receiver, a carrier, buses coupled to the carrier, and load cells coupled to the carrier. One or more of the load cells is configured to support a bin, and wherein the load cells are configured to continuously measure a weight of the bin and communicate the weight or a change in the weight to the receiver. A method of using a modular inventory management system is also included.

A provider computing system receives a pre-staging request and transaction information from a customer device. The provider computing system receives terminal information about a plurality of terminals from a point of sale computing system. The provider computing system then determines an appropriate terminal of the plurality of terminals for the customer to complete their intended transaction based on the transaction information and the terminal information, and transmits a notification indicating the appropriate terminal to the customer device.

Abstract: An automated inventory monitoring system includes an image capture module able to create an image of an aisle of a retail store. Images of products labels are identified in the image and classified as shelf labels or peg labels. For shelf labels, an area of the shelf is defined and associated with the shelf label. Images of products are identified in the image and products on the shelf within an area associated with a shelf label are associated with the shelf label. Products located below a peg label are associated with the peg label. Based on the association between labels and products, out-of-stock products, plugs and spread may be detected and reported to the staff of the retail store.

Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, an automated system provides for automatic negotiation, benchmarking, compliance, and auditing. The system may include computing systems and devices for receiving a request for transmitting a message to a remote party, and in response, providing a customization user interface including a message template with editable and non-editable input fields as well as a document selection interface for linking documents to the message. Message recipients associated with the remote party may be identified as having security access permissions corresponding to access parameters for the linked documents.
