  • Patent number: 9460085
Abstract: An approach is provided for an information handling system that includes a processor and a memory to improve the quality of question-answer sets used as inputs to a question-answering (QA) system. In the approach, a question-answer pair is analyzed using natural language processing (NLP) components. Some of the NLP components may be taken from the QA system whose input is being analyzed The question-answer pair includes a question and an answer to the question. Based on the analysis, one or more shortcomings of the question-answer pair are identified. The shortcomings relate to an ability of the target QA system to analyze the question. • Patent number: 9442939
Abstract: Particular embodiments store a business object attachment in a specific storage location associated with a business object. In this embodiment a computer receives an attachment for the business object along with information regarding the business object. The information regarding the business object may include a business object identifier and a business object type identifier. With this information, the computer defines routing attribute fields for the attachment. Using the routing attribute fields and the business object type identifier, the computer calculates a target content repository and a target path for the attachment. The computer then determines which content management system contains the target repository and interfaces with that target content management system to direct that content management system to store the attachment in the target repository at the target path.

  • Patent number: 9336489
Abstract: In the area of storage management, service automation can be realized through the use of “MAPE” loop(s). A Planner (P) interacts with the Monitoring (M), Analysis (A) and Execution (E) components in a closed loop. For each new option or potential planning action the Planner (P) invokes the Analysis (A) component. The correctness, as well as effectiveness, of the planning decision is dependent on the Analysis (A) component. Embodiments can utilize an adaptive Analysis (A) component (i.e., an analysis component that can be retrained) that also associates a value of confidence and a corresponding error in the evaluation along with a predicted impact. The Planner (P) component uses this additional information for quoting the final impact of a particular planning action as part of an adaptive MAPE loop to provide improved resource utilization and resource management.

  • Patent number: 9305303
Abstract: A sentiment analysis computing system includes a storage medium and a processing system. Sentiment input is received from audience members viewing a streamed/webcasted event. The received input is stored to the storage medium. A time slice of the webcasted event is determined and sentiment inputs that are within that time slice are obtained. A sentiment value is calculated for the determined time slice based on aggregated sentiment values. The calculated sentiment value for the time slice is then output by the sentiment analysis computing system.
