Abstract: A plastic screw cap for closing a container, including a cup composed of a disk-like portion and a cylindrical wall that protrudes from the rim of said disk-like portion and has an internal thread that is adapted to engage a corresponding thread of the container, the cap further comprising an annular lip that protrudes from the disk-like portion concentrically with respect to the cylindrical wall, the annular lip acting as a shoulder for a sealing liner, so that the liner, when the cap has been applied to the container, frontally and externally engages the rim of the mouth of the container.

Abstract: A tamper indicating closure for use with an associated container includes a closure cap having a circular top wall portion, and a depending annular skirt portion depending from the top wall portion. The skirt portion has an internal thread formed therein adapted to threadedly engage a thread formed on an outer surface of the container. The container includes a an annular interference ring located axially under the thread formation. The closure includes a separable, annular tamper indicating band depending from the skirt portion. The band is detachably connected to the skirt portion by a plurality of circumferentially spaced, frangible bridge-like connectors extending between the skirt portion and the band. The band includes first and second axially spaced apart, inwardly extending camming projections extending inwardly therefrom.

Abstract: A storage container assembly including a housing, a door pivotally connected to the housing, and an elastomeric lock handle removably connected to the door. The lock handle includes a groove having an entrance. The groove is operable to selectively engage or disengage a tongue extending outwardly from the housing. In the exemplary embodiment, the tongue includes an enlarged nub operable to be received in a complementary cavity of the groove when the door is closed. A restricted passage in the groove between the entrance and the cavity maintains the nub within the cavity until the door is intentionally opened. This inexpensive and simple-to-assemble arrangement allows the door to be easily and quietly opened or closed with minimal force by one hand or even a single finger.

Abstract: A tamper indicating package comprising a container having a neck with a threaded finish, an annular bead on the neck, a plastic closure which includes a base wall and a depending peripheral skirt having threads interengaging the threads of the container, and a tamper indicating band attached to the skirt by a plurality of weakened portions defining a line of severing. An annular flange extends axially upwardly and inwardly from the tamper indicating band toward the base wall of the closure and comprises a first continuous annular flange portion connected to the band by a hinge portion and a second portion which has free ends of the segment portions engaging beneath the bead on the container when the closure is threaded onto the container. The second portion comprises a plurality of segment portions extending upwardly and inwardly from the first continuous portion. The flange is bent intermediate its ends so that the second portion extends inwardly at a greater angle than the first continuous flange portion.

Abstract: A container including a base and an associated cover which form an enclosure for blister packs, pills, medication or other small articles. The container includes at least three latches located around the perimeter of the container to hold it closed. The latches can only be disengaged by applying pressure to all the latches simultaneously. In addition, the latches are spaced from each other so that two hands are required to simultaneously release all of the latches. Openings are advantageously placed near the latches to allow the user to exert inward pressure on the walls of the container, which pressure acts to disengage the latches.

Abstract: An easy open construction for a can end wherein a tear panel principally defined by a rupturable score line in a central panel of a wall is opened by operating a tab having one end adapted to press against the tear panel at a position spaced from the score line and overlying only a small portion of the opening left by the tear panel in its open position. The other end of the tab constitutes a finger gripping portion which is manually liftable to open the tear panel and may be returnable directly to its original position next to the wall. The tab and tear panel remain secured to the wall after the tear panel has been moved to its open position. The central panel is defined by a coined area and a downwardly recessed area located immediately radially inwardly adjacent the coined area. The finger gripping portion elevation relative to the top of the end seaming panel is relocated away from the seam as a result of this downward recessed area.

Abstract: A child resistant box including a receptacle and an associated cover which form an enclosure for blister-packs, pills, medication or other small articles. The box includes latches located around the perimeter of the box to hold it closed. The latches can only be disengaged by applying pressure to all the latches simultaneously. In an alternative embodiment, the bottom wall of the box has a plurality of holes sized and spaced to conform to the size and spacing of blister-pack compartments so that the blister-pack contents can be dispensed through the holes.

Abstract: A threaded tamper indicating closure-container package provides an indication of initial opening by how far the closure threads onto the container neck. In the original package condition the bottom of the closure skirt is adjacent a shoulder on the container. After the package has been initially opened and the closure reapplied, the bottom of the closure skirt is noticeably above the container shoulder. A word message such as "opened" can also be exposed on the container neck between the shoulder and the bottom of the closure skirt when the closure is reapplied.

Abstract: A blow molded plastics container includes an injection molded annular neck portion which is sealed by injection molding to an annular wall portion of an injection molded top end wall having a part-spherical center portion. The center portion has five circumferentially spaced and upwardly projecting annular lip seals, two of which surround openings within the top end wall. An injection molded rotatable closure snap-fits onto the neck portion and has a mating part-spherical center portion which engages the lip seals. The closure has one opening which is selectively and progressively alignable with the annular lip seals in response to indexing the closure in one direction. An integrally molded one-way latch extends between the center portions of the closure and top end wall and prevents reverse rotation of the closure except between a consumer open position and a sealed reclosable position.

Abstract: A hollow, cylindrical clutch adapter that surrounds a screw-on end cap and prevents the transfer of excessive torquing forces to the end cap so as to avoid over-tightening the end cap to a threaded neck of a fluid reservoir, such as that common to a squeeze bottle. The squeeze bottle includes an outer body that surrounds the fluid reservoir and a hollow head that surrounds the clutch adapter and is rotatable relative to the outer body. The clutch adapter includes a series of parallel aligned splines or teeth projecting radially inward thereof so as to be respectively interspersed between the usual ridges that are molded into the end cap, whereby to insure that a rotational force applied to the clutch adapter will be transmitted to the end cap. The hollow head is rotated to apply a corresponding rotational force to the end cap via the clutch adapter located therebetween.

Abstract: A sealing container including a hooked lever turned about a pivot pin between two lugs at the periphery of a container body near its top and adapted to hold down a sealing cap being pivoted to the container body, wherein the lugs of the container body have each a through hole in which the pivot pin is moved, and a springy, smoothly curved projecting portion projecting into the through hole, the through hole of each lug defining a vertical sliding portion at the top, a transverse retaining portion at the bottom, and an arched intermediate portion communicating between the vertical sliding portion and the transverse retaining portion corresponding to the springy, smoothly curved projecting portion.

Abstract: Cover to place on a door (5) with unlocking by means of rotation as to slightly open it and making it possible to appropriately sterilize the entire inside of the receptacle it closes, whilst enabling bactericide vapors to easily reach the surfaces adjacent to the door. In order to do this, the cover includes a fixed dome portion (20) flanged on the receptacle around the door, and a handling device (40 to 42) created through the dome and able to grip the door so as to slightly lift it up without breaking its imperviousness.

The actuating element is rotatable manually and/or by a filling arm of an automatic filling device into an open position that opens filling opening and in the opposite direction into a closed position that closes filling opening. A closing part guided approximately rectilinearly is located between supporting part and actuating element. The closing part is adjustable through an adjusting device by actuating element which opens filling opening when rotated to the open position, and which closes filling opening when rotated to the closed position.

Abstract: A safety hatch for tanks, washing machines, industrial machines and the like comprises a frame and an arm having a first end pivotally connected to the frame. A second end of the arm has a surface portion provided with a hole having a circular section communicating with a slot section which extends to an external edge of the arm. A male threaded member is dimensioned to extend through the arm hole and has a first end pivotally connected to the frame and a second end. A female threaded member is adapted for threaded engagement with the male threaded member and has a head section and a shank section. A clamping member is integrally connected to the shank section of the female threaded member and has a tubular portion extending from the shank section.

Abstract: The TE-band (3) of a closure cap for closure of a container is provided with retaining elements (5) which protrude radially inwards and upwards to the base of the closure cap from the inner surface of the TE-bank (3). Each retaining element (5) comprises a retaining surface (6) terminating in a retaining edge (7). The retaining edges engage beneath an engagement surface (10) on the mouth of a container when the closure cap is in position on said container. The retaining edge (7) are formed as a concave segment and all retaining edges (7) together define substantially a circle. The circle is coaxial with the engagement surface of a container mouth and has a diameter which is smaller than the outer diameter of the engagement surface of the container mouth.
