Abstract: A method for manufacturing a structure material is a method for manufacturing a structure material that includes a thermoplastic resin, reinforced fibers, and voids. The method includes: a first process for arranging a structure precursor comprising the thermoplastic resin and the reinforced fibers in a mold with a surface temperature of 80° C. or less; a second process for raising the surface temperature of the mold up to a temperature at which a storage elastic modulus (G?) of the structure precursor is less than 1.2×108 Pa; a third process for lowering the surface temperature of the mold down to a temperature at which the storage elastic modulus (G?) of the structure precursor is 1.2×108 Pa or more; and a fourth process for removing a structure material obtained after end of the third process from the mold.

Abstract: Reducing an overlay error in nanoimprint lithography includes forming an imprinted substrate having pairs of corresponding peripheral overlay marks and corresponding central overlay marks on the imprinted substrate. An in-plane overlay error is assessed based on relative positions of corresponding central overlay marks, and a combined overlay error is assessed based on relative positions of corresponding peripheral overlay marks. Abstract: A system and method for applying tension to a reinforcement member is provided. The system includes a gripping device, a tension device, and a tension application sub-system. The gripping device includes first and second attachments. Each attachment retains a respective end of the reinforcement member with sufficient friction force based on a predetermined tension to be applied to the reinforcement member. The tension device includes first and second tension tubes configured to removably receive and hold the first and second attachments, respectively. The tension application sub-system has first and second tension application apparatuses and first and second coupling devices. The first and second coupling devices couple the first and second tension tubes to the first and second tension application apparatuses, respectively. At least one of the first and second tension application apparatuses creates and controllably adjusts a tension load within the reinforcement member.

Abstract: A 3D printing apparatus includes a tank holding a photo-curing liquid polymer. A transparent membrane forms a bottom surface of the tank. A circular-shaped disk is disposed below the membrane, and is supported by a frame that has a radiation-transparent printing window. The liquid polymer is cured into desired shapes by exposure to radiation as the membrane is rotated about an axis. The rotation of the membrane causes a first region thereof to be rotated out of the printing window and a second region thereof to be rotated into the printing window. A light source projects the radiation through the printing window, through the second region of the membrane, into the photo-curing liquid polymer and onto a focal plane in the photo-curing liquid polymer, thereby curing a portion of the photo-curing liquid polymer.

Abstract: A method for producing a resin film by using a resin material and accurately forming a fine pattern as a vapor deposition mask or an optical element, a method for producing an organic EL display device, a base film for forming a fine pattern and a resin film with a supporting member are provided. A liquid resin material is applied onto a supporting member to form a resin coating film (S1), and a temperature of the resin coating film is increased to a temperature at which the resin material cures, to form a baked resin film (S2). Thereafter, a base film formed by the baked resin film attached to the supporting member is processed by irradiating with lasers, to form a resin film (1b) having a desired fine pattern and the supporting member (S3). Thereafter, the baked resin film on which the fine pattern is formed is peeled from the supporting member, and the resin film having the fine pattern is obtained (S5).

Abstract: Nonionic, water-soluble cellulose ethers are disclosed with hydroxyalkyl groups and ?-alkynyl groups, each joined to the cellulose via an ether bond, the degree of molar substitution MS(alkyne) being in the range from 0.001 to 0.30. The cellulose ethers may further contain azido groups, preferably 3-azido-2-hydroxypropyl groups, likewise joined to the cellulose by an ether bond, the MS(AHP) being in the range from 0.001 to 0.3. To obtain an adhesive, cellulose ether is mixed with water or, if the cellulose ether contains no alkyne groups, is mixed additionally with a non-ionic cellulose ether containing ?-alkyne groups and hydroxyalkyl groups, each bonded to the cellulose by ether bonds. The mixture is applied to at least one of the surfaces to be bonded and then is contacted with a copper(I) catalyst or a ruthenium catalyst. The adhesive is especially suitable for bonding wood, paper, cardboard or other cellulosic material.
Abstract: Methods and systems for coating with shear and moisture sensitive materials are disclosed. A method of coating a product includes filling an inner bellows chamber of a bellows, which is provided within and isolated from an outer bellows chamber of a tank, with a predetermined amount of the coating material. The method of coating the product further includes supplying a pressurized material to the outer bellows chamber to pressurize the coating material within the inner bellows chamber to an operating pressure, and supplying the coating material within the inner bellows chamber to a spray gun at the operating pressure. The method of coating also includes determining that a measured actual pressure is within a predetermined control range of the target pressure and subsequently coating the product by spraying the product with the coating material from the spray gun.

Each composite particle may comprise, for example, active fluoride material and a nanoporous, electrically-conductive scaffolding matrix within which the active fluoride material is disposed. The active fluoride material is provided to store and release ions during battery operation. The storing and releasing of the ions may cause a substantial change in volume of the active material. The scaffolding matrix structurally supports the active material, electrically interconnects the active material, and accommodates the changes in volume of the active material.
