Patent number: 10133121Abstract: There is provided a light-emitting device that exhibits superior luminance contribution rate of a light source while reducing in-plane luminance unevenness despite a simple configuration. The light-emitting device includes: a substrate on which one or more light sources are provided; and a reflective plate placed on the substrate. The reflective plate includes: an opening into which the light source is inserted; a sloped section that is sloped relative to the substrate while surrounding the opening, and has a first thickness; and a top surface section that is coupled to a top end of the sloped section, and has a second thickness. The first thickness is greater than the second thickness.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2016Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Kenichi Nakaki, Kenji Kobayashi, Hiroki Asakawa

Patent number: 9874780Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display device uses a quantum rod orientation layer (2) to conduct parallel alignment of a quantum rod layer (3) so that the aligned quantum rod layer (3) may replace a conventional lower polarizer. The liquid crystal display device manufacturing method applies an inclined vapor deposition process to form a quantum rod orientation layer (2). The quantum rod orientation layer (2) includes a plurality of grooves (21) that has an extension direction substantially perpendicular to a transmission axis direction of an upper polarizer (7). A quantum rod layer (3) is then formed on the quantum rod orientation layer (2). The quantum rod layer (3) so formed includes a plurality of quantum rods (31) that has a long axis direction substantially parallel to the extension direction of the grooves (21), namely parallel alignment of the quantum rod layer (3).Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2015Date of Patent: January 23, 2018Assignee: SHENZHEN CHINA STAR OPTOELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.Inventors: Hongquan Wei, Yanan Wang

Patent number: 9547194Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a display panel and a backlight module. The display panel includes a color filter layer having a blue filter portion. The backlight module emits light to the display panel. A peak wavelength of a blue light portion of the spectrum of the light is greater than or equal to 440 nm and smaller than or equal to 450 nm. The blue filter portion has a transmission spectrum having a first wavelength ?1 and a second wavelength ?2, and the first wavelength ?1 and the second wavelength ?2 conform to the following equation: 514 ? ? 1 2 + ? 2 2 + 0.71862 ? ? ? 2 - 0.71862 ? ? ? 1 ? 541 The first wavelength ?1 and the second wavelength ?2 are corresponding to a half level of a peak value of the transmission spectrum, and the unit thereof is nm.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2013Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: INNOLUX CORPORATIONInventors: Jeng-Wei Yeh, Shih-Chang Huang, Kuei-Ling Liu

Patent number: 9488890Abstract: When a pixel portion and a driver circuit are formed over one substrate and a counter electrode is formed over an entire surface of a counter substrate, the driver circuit may be adversely affected by an optimized voltage of the counter electrode. A semiconductor device according to the present invention has a structure in which: a liquid crystal layer is provided between a pair of substrates; one of the substrates is provided with a pixel electrode and a driver circuit; the other of the substrates is a counter substrate which is provided with two counter electrode layers in different potentials; and one of the counter electrode layers overlaps with the pixel electrode with the liquid crystal layer therebetween and the other of the counter electrode layers overlaps with the driver circuit with the liquid crystal layer therebetween. An oxide semiconductor layer is used for the driver circuit.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2015Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jun Koyama, Shunpei Yamazaki
