  • Patent number: 11969297
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for limiting the grip force generated by closing robotic wrist jaws while operating in position mode in which the jaws are commanded to a desired jaw angle prior to being commanded to generate a grip force. In the positional mode, the desired jaw angle is above a threshold that corresponds to an angle at which both jaws are just simultaneously in contact with an object between the jaws or, if there is no object to grasp, when the jaws begin to touch each other. A feedback loop may analyze the desired jaw angle and the measured grip force to determine if the jaws are closing in the position mode and if the measured grip force exceeds a maximum grip force threshold. If so, the feedback loop may calculate a grip force error to limit the measured grip force to the maximum grip force threshold.

  • Patent number: 11969599
Abstract: Methods, devices and program products are provided for under control of one or more processors within an implantable medical device (IMD). Sensing near field (NF) and far field (FF) signals are between first and second combinations of electrodes coupled to the IMD. The method applies an arrhythmia detection algorithm to the NF signals for identifying events within the NF signal and designates events marker based thereon and monitors the event markers to detect a candidate arrhythmia condition in the NF signals. The candidate under-detected condition comprises at least one of an under-detected arrhythmia or over-sensing. In response to detection of the candidate arrhythmia condition, the method analyzes the FF signals for a presence of an under-detected arrhythmia indicator. The method delivers an arrhythmia therapy based on the presence of the under-detected arrhythmia indicator in the FF signals and the candidate under-detected arrhythmia condition in the NF signals.

  • Patent number: 11957928
Abstract: A friction-based therapeutic light penile device is configured to provide light therapy to the penis when in an erect state to more effectively ensure penetration of the emitted therapeutic light into the penis as the skin tissue is thinner. The device forms a sleeve for insertion of the erect penis and a friction material for arousal to maintain the erection during therapy. The light devices may be configured proximal to an outer rigid shell and emit light through an elastomeric friction material. The light devices may be configured to heat the friction material for further arousal and a vibratory device may further enhance arousal. The therapeutic light may be a specific wavelength of light, such as a blue, red and/or infrared. A testicular flange may extend from the sleeve and have light devices for the scrotum and testicles. The elastomeric material may form an insertion flange that is vagina shaped.

  • Patent number: 11819459
Abstract: A method for providing control data for an eye surgical laser of a treatment apparatus for removing tissue is disclosed. The method includes utilizing a control device for determining a corneal geometry and an ocular wavefront of a human or animal eye from predetermined examination data. A corneal wavefront is then determined from the corneal geometry using a physical model, and an internal wavefront is calculated from a difference between the ocular wavefront and the corneal wavefront. A wavefront to be achieved is calculated from a difference of a preset target wavefront and the calculated internal wavefront. A target corneal geometry is determined from the wavefront to be achieved by the physical model, and a tissue geometry to be removed is calculated from a difference of the corneal geometry and the target corneal geometry, and control data for controlling the eye surgical laser is provided.

  • Patent number: 11794024
Abstract: In embodiments, an external defibrillator has an electrical circuit with a special output stage for the high-voltage defibrillation pulse. The output stage includes switches that can turn on for delivering the pulse, and off during all other times. The output stage also includes a diverting resistance to divert electrical current that could leak into the patient while a capacitor is being charged. An optional detector may notify if a component is malfunctioning. An advantage can be that an external defibrillator may be created according to embodiments that uses, in its output stage, semiconductor switches instead of relays. As semiconductor switches weigh less and occupy less volume than relays, an external defibrillator according to embodiments may have less weight and volume. Especially in wearable defibrillator applications, less weight means less effort to carry and less volume means easier concealment under clothing.

  • Patent number: 11793994
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving kidney function. A first mechanical circulatory support system (MCS) is introduced in a patient's heart, and a second mechanical circulatory support system is introduced in a patient's inferior vena cava or renal vein. The second mechanical circulatory support system is operated while the first mechanical circulatory support system is operating. A renal parameter is monitored during. Combined operation of the two mechanical circulatory support systems results in a change in renal parameter, e.g. pressure drop in the renal vein, indicating an improvement in kidney function. Once the renal parameter is determined to be below a target threshold, operation of the second mechanical circulatory support device is stopped.

  • Patent number: 11615873
Abstract: A method and system for generating a treatment plan are disclosed herein. A computing system receives a plurality of dose volume histograms for a plurality of patients and a plurality of volumetric dose distributions corresponding to the plurality of dose volume histograms. The computing system generates a volumetric dose prediction model using a neural network by learning, by the neural network, a relationship between a plurality of dose volume histograms for the plurality of patients and the corresponding plurality of volumetric dose distributions. The computing system receives a candidate dose volume histogram for a target patient. The computing system infers, via the volumetric dose prediction module, a volumetric dose prediction distribution matching the candidate dose volume histogram. The computing system generates a recommendation based on the inferred volumetric dose prediction distribution.
