  • Patent number: 11884236
Abstract: An electronic key system includes a door unit, an installed device, a portable device, at least one processor, and a storage medium storing. The storage medium stores a program that causes the processor to execute a composite authentication process and a simple authentication process. The composite authentication process permits unlocking of the door unit if all of the following conditions are satisfied: key information output from the portable device matches pre-registered key information; a user's motion matches pre-registered first motion information; and the motion matches pre-registered second motion information. The simple authentication process is executed during the time from locking of the door unit to elapse of a preset time or from locking of the door unit to when the portable device is located outside an authentication notification area. The simple authentication process permits unlocking of the door unit if the key information matches the pre-registered key information.

  • Patent number: 11869323
Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an electronic merchandise against theft. When the electronic merchandise is placed onto a charging platform, the inductive coil within the charging platform of the anti-theft device establishes a wireless connection with an inductive coil within the electronic merchandise. When the electronic merchandise is removed from the charging platform, an alarm is armed. Upon the electronic merchandise being returned to the charging platform, the inductive coil within the charging platform reestablishes the wireless connection with the inductive coil of the electronic merchandise and obtains an identification data therefrom. If the obtained identification data corresponds to the identification data pre-programmed into the anti-theft device, the alarm is disarmed. Otherwise, if the electronic merchandise is not returned to its designated charging platform and its identification data is successfully verified prior to expiration of a predefined duration, an alarm may be triggered.

  • Patent number: 11846537
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a fill level of a fluid within a fluid vessel, an identity of the fluid, and/or a condition of the vessel wall are disclosed. To determine a fluid fill level, at least one acoustic sensor is positionable substantially on an exterior sidewall of a vessel containing fluid. A computerized device is in communication with the at least one acoustic sensor. A processor of the computerized device receives a detection signal from the at least one acoustic sensor and communicates an alert of the detection signal, which can be used to identify a fill level of the fluid. The detection signal, along with other measured information, can be used to identify the material type of the fluid. A condition of the vessel wall may be determined based on an attenuation signal when two acoustic sensors are used, one being positioned angular to the vessel wall.

  • Patent number: 11842613
Abstract: An intelligent entrance detection system is provided where, primarily, any authorized or unauthorized entry to an area of a residential (or small industrial) unit covered by a wireless network is automatically detected from active off-the-shelf devices in that area. After the detection, an identification algorithm is employed to verify if this entry is a legal or illegal action. Based on this verification, either the routine smart home system is activated or a hazardous monitoring period begins to further investigate the suspicious event. If the illegal entrance is confirmed during the hazardous monitoring period, the owner of the property is informed through an intruder alarm protocol. In this invention, all of the analytic and processing steps, including entrance detection, owner identification, and device-free authority verification are designed based on monitoring and quantification of changes in surrounding wireless signals originated by human or object movements within the sensing area.

  • Patent number: 11801905
Abstract: The technology relates to enhancing the operation of autonomous vehicles. Extendible sensors are deployed based on detected or predicted conditions around a vehicle while operating in a self-driving mode. When not needed, the sensors are fully retracted into the vehicle to reduce drag and increase fuel economy. When the onboard system determines that there is a need for a deployable sensor, such as to enhance the field of view of the perception system, the sensor is extended in a predetermined manner. The deployment may depend on one or more operating conditions and/or particular driving scenarios. These and other sensors of the vehicle may be protected with a rugged housing, for instance to protect against damage from the elements. And in other situations, deployable foils may extend from the vehicle's chassis to increase drag and enhance braking. This may be helpful for large trucks in steep descent situations.

  • Patent number: 11790769
Abstract: A universal remote control (URC) is programmed to control a particular type and make of electronic consumer device using a graphical user interface. A plurality of images is displayed on the user-interface. Each image of the plurality of images is a digital photograph of an electronic consumer device or a remote control device usable to control the corresponding electronic consumer device. A user selects the digital photograph of the particular type and make of electronic consumer device or its corresponding remote control device. Codeset information associated with the selected device is transmitted to the URC such that the URC is programmed to control the selected device. If the codeset information is a codeset identifier, then it is displayed on the user interface. The user enters the codeset identifier into the URC such that the URC is programmed to control the selected device.
