  • Patent number: 10298939
Abstract: In an example, aspects of this disclosure relate to a method of coding video data that includes identifying a plurality of quantization parameter (QP) values associated with a plurality of reference blocks of video data. The method also includes generating a reference QP for the plurality of reference blocks based on the plurality of QPs. The method also includes storing the reference QP, and coding a block of video data based on the stored reference QP.

  • Patent number: 10116920
Abstract: A method of balancing colors of three-dimensional (3D) points measured by a scanner from a first location and a second location. The scanner measures 3D coordinates and colors of first object points from a first location and second object points from a second location. The scene is divided into local neighborhoods, each containing at least a first object point and a second object point. An adapted second color is determined for each second object point based at least in part on the colors of first object points in the local neighborhood.

  • Patent number: 10063834
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing video utilize individually collected image enhancement statistic information from differing processor cores for a same frame or multi-view that are then either shared between the processor cores or used by a third processor core to combine the statistical information that has been individually collected to generate global image-enhancement control information. The global image enhancement control information is based on a global analysis of both left and right eye views for example using the independently generated statistic information for a pair of frames. Respective image output information is produced by each of the plurality of processor cores based on the global image enhancement control information, for display on one or more displays.

  • Patent number: 10015469
Abstract: Blurring is simulated in post-processing for captured images. A 3D image is received from a 3D camera, and depth information in the 3D image is used to determine the relative distances of objects in the image. One object is chosen as the subject of the image, and an additional object in the image is identified. Image blur is applied to the identified additional object based on the distance between the 3D camera and the subject object, the distance between the subject object and the additional object, and a virtual focal length and virtual f-number.

  • Patent number: 9992555
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques relevant to HTTP streaming of media data. According to these techniques, a server device may signal an open decoding refresh (ODR) random access point (RAP) for a movie segmentation of a movie representation. At least one frame of the media segmentation following the ODR RAP frame in decoding order may not be correctly decoded, and wherein each frame of the media segmentation following the ODR RAP frame in display order can be correctly decoded without relying on content of frames prior to the ODR RAP in display order. According to the techniques of this disclosure, a client device may communicate a request to a server device for the streaming of media data based on signaling of the ODR RAP. Also according to the techniques of this disclosure, a client device may commence decoding and/or playback of the movie representation based on signaling of the ODR RAP.

  • Patent number: 9900612
Abstract: When an encoding mode corresponding to one of blocks to be encoded into which an image is divided by a block dividing part 2 is an inter encoding mode which is a direct mode, a motion-compensated prediction part 5 selects a motion vector suitable for generation of a prediction image from one or more selectable motion vectors and also carries out a motion-compensated prediction process on the block to be encoded to generate a prediction image by using the motion vector, and outputs index information showing the motion vector to a variable length encoding part 13, and the variable length encoding unit 13 variable-length-encodes the index information.

  • Patent number: 9877634
Abstract: An image processing system includes: a light source portion configured to emit illuminating light to be radiated to an object; a light receiving optical member for guiding return light from the object: a light detecting portion configured to receive the return light caused to be incident through the light receiving optical member to generate an electric signal, amplify the generated electric signal, convert the amplified electric signal to a digital signal and output the digital signal; an image processing portion configured to generate an image based on the digital signal outputted from the light detecting portion and perform gain adjustment for the generated image; and a parameter adjusting portion configured to adjust a predetermined parameter based on a variable range of an output value of the light source portion and a variable range of a gain value in the gain adjustment.

  • Patent number: 9841311
Abstract: A terminal for measuring at least one dimension of an object includes a range camera, a visible camera, and a display that are fixed in position and orientation relative to each other. The range camera is configured to produce a range image of an area in which the object is located. The visible camera is configured to produce a visible image of an area in which the object is located. The display is configured to present information associated with the range camera's field of view and the visible camera's field of view.
