Abstract: Provided is an in-vehicle electronic apparatus including a main body that includes a panel attaching/detaching part, and a panel that is attached to and detached from the panel attaching/detaching part. The panel attaching/detaching part is provided with a lock mechanism and a holding lever, the lock mechanism being arranged to lock the panel to the main body, the holding lever being rotatable and being arranged to hold the panel when the holding lever is rotated to a holding position. The panel is moved in a predetermined direction with respect to the main body such that locking of the panel to the main body by the lock mechanism is released. When the panel is moved in the predetermined direction such that the locking is released, the holding lever is rotated to the holding position due to inertia such that the panel is held by the holding lever.

  • Patent number: 9350926
Abstract: A night driving assistant system uses a tablet to wirelessly control an infrared camera in a motor vehicle. An infrared camera system is detachably fixed to the motor vehicle and captures the infrared thermal images of the road scene while the motor vehicle is moving and outputs the video signals of the captured infrared thermal images. A magnetic base is positioned under the chassis of the infrared camera system and attaches the infrared camera system to the motor vehicle. A tablet is detachably mounted inside the motor vehicle, connecting wirelessly with the infrared camera system and displaying video signals transmitted from the infrared camera system. By manipulating the tablet, functions can be realized such as operating the infrared camera system, recognizing a human/animal, triggering Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation, record/store/redisplay videos as well as processing multi-functions like split-screen display etc.

  • Patent number: 9325547
Abstract: A preamble identifier flag in a reserved portion of a data field synchronization segment in a digital television (DTV) data field identifies the presence of preamble training data in a forward error correction (FEC) encoded portion of the DTV data field. The data field synchronization segment is not FEC encoded, thereby allowing detection of the preamble identifier flag without FEC decoding. The detection at a receiver of the preamble identifier flag in a DTV data field allows receiver elements, such as an equalizer and a FEC decoder, to more readily obtain and utilize the preamble training data, thereby enhancing reception and/or simplifying receiver design.

  • Patent number: 9253063
Abstract: A method, a system and a computer device for initiating bi-directional compression of a video stream in a packet switched network, based on delay tolerance of a service or application. A video frame recompression (VFR) utility determines an end-to-end (E2E) delay tolerance retrieved from a Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP) report. The VFR utility then determines the actual expected delay based on a deep inspection of packet headers. The VFR utility utilizes a processing opportunity delay (which determines whether the E2E delay tolerance is greater than the actual expected delay) to reprocess video content comprising Intra-coded (I) pictures/frames and Predicted (P) frames to improve compression efficiency. The VFR utility may also utilize a complexity ratio which is a ratio of the I-Frame rate and the P-Frame rate to select frames for compression. The VFR utility recompresses video content by replacing P-Frames with B-Frames.

  • Patent number: 9210432
Abstract: Blocks of a frame of a video stream can be encoded using lossless inter-frame prediction encoding. The compression ratio of lossless inter-frame encoding can be improved by first examining the magnitude of a motion vector used to perform inter-frame prediction. If the magnitude of the motion vector is small, the residual generated by the inter-prediction can be entropy coded and included in the encoded bitstream. If the magnitude of the motion vector is greater than a threshold, the residual can be encoded using lossy encoding and then decoded and subtracted from the original residual. The resulting difference residual is encoded using lossless encoding and included in the output bitstream along with the lossy encoded residual, permitting the block to be decoded with no loss at a decoder.

  • Patent number: 9188644
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system for, and method operating latency measurement including an event generation device that generates an initial event used to measure system latency. A component test system receives the event and in response outputs a test component output signal and a zero-latency indicator. An electronics system including a multifunction display unit receives the test component output signal and displays a visible element on the multifunction display unit. A camera generates a series of recorded images, where each recorded image contains an image of the zero-latency indicator and an image of the visible element. A processor then determines the system latency by determining a time difference in the series of recorded images between a representation of an occurrence of the event in the image of the zero-latency indicator and a representation of the occurrence of the event in the image of the visible element.
