Abstract: In an information processing apparatus, when a receiving unit receives data from an external device, a power control unit returns a power state of the apparatus from a power saving state and a transmitting unit transmits a start instruction to a connected image forming apparatus, and when a power supply switch becomes on according to a user's operation, the power control unit returns the power state of the apparatus from the power saving state but the transmitting unit does not transmit the start instruction to the image forming apparatus. Thus, it is possible to achieve both a linkage start and an individual start for an external image processing controller and the image forming apparatus, in an image processing system including the information processing apparatus, the external image processing controller and the image forming apparatus capable of performing an image process in cooperation with others.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an obtaining unit configured to obtain attribute information of a print job that has been input to the image forming apparatus, a registration unit configured to register user identification information in which user information indicating a user who has input the print job and group information indicating a group where the user belongs are associated with each other, the user information and the group information being included in the obtained attribute information, a generation unit configured to generate on an operation screen an operation object for receiving an operation request for executing a print job, based on the registered user identification information, and a display control unit configured to display, in response to receiving selection of the generated operation object, a list screen with a list of print jobs input by a user identified from the user identification information corresponding to the selected operation object.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for receiving a fax transmission at a mobile phone. In one embodiment, the mobile phone receives an incoming call and answers the incoming call, upon receiving a command from a user of the mobile phone to answer the incoming call. A program on the mobile phone then detects that the incoming call is a fax transmission, and then places an outgoing call to a fax server. The program on the mobile phone then conferences the incoming call with the outgoing call to the fax server, such that the fax server receives the fax transmission.
