  • Patent number: 10708496
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing power use of a camera and/or camera system. In response to a wakeup trigger, contents of a scene are captured by the camera. Based on a received energy budget for the camera, a scene analysis is performed on the scene, where the contents of the scene are analyzed according to one or more analytics models. Based on the output of the one or more analytics models and the received energy budget for the camera, it is determined whether the camera should continue capturing the contents of the scene or enter a power state lower than a previous power state (e.g., go to sleep).

  • Patent number: 10701276
Abstract: Provided are methods, systems, and computer-program products for determining one or more settings of a content capture device. In some examples, to determine the one or more settings, luma values of pixels of an image from the content capture device may be identified. Objects in the image and information associated with the objects may also be identified. The information associated with the objects may be divided into categories of the information. And using the objects and the information, a separate weight array for each category of the information may be computed. The separate weight arrays may be combined to create a total weight array to augment the luma values. The augmented luma values may be aggregated to compute a weighted luma average for the image. Based upon a difference of the weighted luma average and a target, the one or more settings may be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 10630907
Abstract: Methods of creating frames captured with a video camera that are independent of light conditions are presented. In a first method the invention attains this goal by the addition of a modulated light source, for example amplitude modulation (AM), to the background light that illuminates the scene being captured and executing an algorithm that generates processed images in which the effects of the background illumination have been eliminated. In a second aspect the invention is a method of modifying the flash no flash technique by executing an algorithm that averages out the maximum and minimum intensity peaks in adjacent frames thereby allowing this technique to be employed using non-synchronous light in video.

  • Patent number: 10623690
Abstract: Each of multiple cameras encodes and transmits a video signal captured, the encoding being performed with one of multiple variable bit rate encoding schemes each of which has a different average bit rate. A receiving device periodically measures the total bandwidth of the video signals received from the multiple cameras, and when the total bandwidth exceeds a first threshold value the receiving device switches the encoding scheme used by the cameras to a scheme having a lower average bit rate. In addition, when the total bandwidth falls below a second threshold value that is equal to or less than the first threshold value, the receiving device switches the encoding scheme used by the cameras to a scheme having a higher average bit rate.

  • Patent number: 10623655
Abstract: An image sensor may include image pixels arranged in rows and columns. The image pixels may include an anti-blooming transistor controlled by a first control signal and a transfer transistor controlled by a second control signal. The first and second control signals are generated based on different sets of phases. The different sets of phases are offset from each other. By having a delayed or offset set of phases, the first and second control signals may be asserted independently from each other thereby providing shorter integration time periods during a light flicker mitigation mode of operation. An additional set of phases may be added before readout operations to account for the delay and ensure proper readout operations.
