Abstract: A concentrator nozzle for a hair dryer contains: a wind collector and a rotatable operation member. The wind collector includes a connection groove formed on a circular bottom thereof. An upper end of the rotatable operation member includes a cutout extending to a lower end of the rotatable operation member. The connection groove is connected with a coupling segment on a body of the hair dryer so as to receive airflow produced by the hair dryer, and the wind collector drives the rotatable operation member to rotate so as to produce a vortex flow for curling the user's hairs fixed on the concentrator nozzle. Then, the hair dryer blows hot air to the user's hairs, thus forming the user's hairs in a desired curling shape.

Abstract: A method includes forming a plastic orthodontic aligner having a plurality of cavities shaped to receive at least portions of a plurality of teeth of a patient. A first segment of the plastic orthodontic aligner corresponds to a first subset of the plurality of cavities for moving a first subset of the plurality of teeth of the patient. A second segment of the plastic orthodontic aligner corresponds to a second subset of the plurality of cavities. The method further includes removing a first portion of the plastic orthodontic aligner between the first and second segments of the plastic orthodontic aligner to form a connector to minimize force transmission between the first and second segments. The connector is configured to be disposed along one or more additional teeth to span a gap between the first and second segments without exerting a clinically significant force on the one or more additional teeth.

Abstract: A self-ligating orthodontic bracket having no movable or flexible parts includes a base having front and rear surfaces. The rear surface is adapted for attachment to the crown of a tooth. A body member is attached to the base and includes an upper half and a lower half, with facing archwire slot surfaces formed on the lower and upper sides thereof, respectively. One or more slot separating tabs are formed on the body member halves and extend vertically toward the other body member half at least partially beyond the archwire slot surface of the body member half to which the slot separating tab is attached. One or more ligating tabs are formed on the body member halves. The body member halves, slot separating tabs and ligating tabs are arranged such that they define an entry opening to a pair of archwire slots, the openings being non-linear in a mesial-distal direction.

Abstract: An abutment arrangement for connecting a dental restoration to a dental implant, including a post body and a screw element. The post body has an expansion part and the screw element includes a spreading section. The passage extends through the expansion part of the post body. An outer diameter of the expansion part of the post body is elastically increasable by applying a lateral force. The passage of the post body has a pressure receiving section at the expansion part. When the screw element is located in the passage of the post body, the spreading section of the screw element is arrangeable at the pressure receiving section of the passage of the post body such that the lateral force is applied to the expansion part of the post body and the outer diameter of the expansion part of the post body is increased.
Abstract: Improved dental models for use in dental procedures are provided. In one aspect, a unitary dental model of an intraoral cavity of a patient having a dental implant comprises a physical surface representative of gingival tissue of the patient. The model can comprise a channel shaped and oriented to receive an abutment corresponding to a physical abutment to be connected to the dental implant, in which the channel extends to an opening in the physical surface. The channel can comprise a first portion shaped to receive and constrain a corresponding structure of the abutment to a position and orientation and a second portion shaped to receive a fastener to couple the abutment to the unitary dental model. In many embodiments, the first portion comprises a shoulder shaped to receive the corresponding structure of the abutment in order to position the abutment along the channel.

Abstract: A hair accessory includes bundled synthetic braiding hair. The bundled synthetic braiding hair can include a first bundle of synthetic hair strands having a first length, a second bundle of synthetic hair strands having a second length that is shorter than the first length. Other bundles with different lengths can be included as well. A binder can be coupled about a waist of the bundled synthetic braiding hair. When the bundled synthetic braiding hair is folded about the binder, the different strand lengths work to define a substantially cardioid shaped perimeter of the bundled synthetic braiding hair.

Abstract: A surgical guide system for dental implantology has a plate (10) provided with a guide sleeve (2) delimiting a through hole with an axis oriented to a predetermined direction. A drill (4) for osteotomy has a spindle connected to a handpiece with drilling portion (41), the drill (4) being for association with the guide sleeve (2) during osteotomy. The diameter (d41) of the drilling head portion (41) is larger than the inner diameter (d2) of the guide sleeve (2) and the spindle is of smaller diameter, such that the association of the drill (4) to any of the guide sleeves (2) can be performed only by inserting the spindle through a gingival side of the sleeves. Upon association of the drill with the sleeve, the drilling head (41) protrudes from the gingival side (2G) thereof. The surgical guide has a void (100) accommodating the drilling head (41) of the drill.
Abstract: A portable toothbrush having an internal water source that allows a user to brush his or her teeth while away from a bathroom or other external water source. The portable toothbrush has an internal water source for dispensing water into a user's mouth and a storage receptable for suctioning waste or rinse water from the user's mouth back into the storage receptacle for disposal after use. The toothbrush may have the toothpaste impregnated on the toothbrush head or the toothpaste may be contained in refillable receptacle as a part of the toothbrush head. The toothbrush of the present invention can be automatic (electric motor or pump) or manual. The toothbrush can be a one-time use toothbrush or multiple-use.

Abstract: A piezoelectric device comprising: (a) a handpiece for holding by a user; (b) a cutting insert for said handpiece; (c) an ultrasound transducer disposed within the handpiece, the ultrasound transducer capable of providing first and second ultrasound frequency vibrations to the cutting insert in response to an electrical signal; and (d) a switch allowing the user to control the electrical signal and thereby provide either said first or second ultrasound frequency vibrations to the cutting insert. The device is useful in a method of placing an implant into an implant site comprising cutting overlying gingival tissue at a first ultrasound frequency capable of cutting soft tissue, then switching to a second ultrasound frequency capable of cutting the underlying jawbone.
Abstract: A method for designing dentures according to which artificial teeth can be easily and accurately attached to a denture base, which is designed and shaped by CAD/CAM, when the artificial teeth are arranged on the denture base is provided.
