Abstract: A base member for an orthodontic implant device. The base member makes it possible to easily and reliably attach a correction implement. The base member is secured by a plurality of screws that are embedded in a bone inside an oral cavity. Each of the plurality of screws has a screw part that is embedded in the bone and a polygonal-columnar head part that is exposed inside the oral cavity. The base member has at least three engagement holes that are provided so as to be capable of engaging the polygonal-columnar head parts and such that the centers thereof are not on the same straight line.

Abstract: A bone foundation guide system has a bone foundation guide including a body that is contoured to reversibly affix to a bone segment of a dental implant surgical site. The body is further contoured to guide the cutting of a portion of the bone segment from a dental implant surgical site and alternatively support a dental implant surgical guide. The body is further contoured to support a bone foundation guide prosthesis as an alternative to the dental implant surgical guide. The bone foundation guide prosthesis combines with the body to accommodate the bone segment portion as placed through the body prior to the bone segment portion being removed from the dental implant site through the use of the body.

Abstract: There is disclosed an eyelash curler comprising an upper section which comprises at least one edge and a lower section which comprises an eyelash support portion, the curler being operable such that eyelashes can be clamped between the edge and the support portion, whereby the edge extends transverse to the eyelashes and engages a top side thereof, and, while the eyelashes remain so clamped, the edge can be drawn along said top side, substantially in the direction in which each of the lashes extends, whereby the eyelashes are curled upwardly.

Abstract: A support is coupled to an appliance to decrease warpage. The support may comprise a plurality of extensions coupled to the appliance to decrease warpage. The extensions can be coupled to the appliance at one or more of many locations, such as on an occlusal surface, a wall, an edge or an interior of the appliance. In some embodiments, the extensions are coupled to walls of the appliance such as a buccal wall and a lingual wall, and the extensions can be coupled to the walls of the appliance near edges of the walls, such as gingivally facing edges of the walls that are oriented toward the gingiva when the appliance is worn.

Abstract: Hairstyling devices include one or more heat transmissive elements having a coating disposed thereon, the coating having ceramic and lava rock incorporated therein. The use of lava rock-containing coatings as described herein results in hairstyling devices with heat transmissive elements exhibiting enhanced heat retention, faster heat recovery, and increased ion emission. Furthermore, lava rock-containing coatings have been found more durable than equivalent heat transmissive element coatings that do not have lava rock incorporated therein.

Abstract: An intraoral scanning apparatus has a mouthpiece and a transport apparatus that defines at least a first curved track within the mouthpiece. An image sensor is movable along the first curved track. A scanner is movable along the first curved track, scanning in synchronization with the image sensor and having an illumination source that has a laser light source and beam-shaping optics in the path of the laser light for forming a linear light pattern. At least one actuator is energizable to move the image sensor and scanner along the first curved track for image acquisition. A control logic processor synchronizes the scanner and image sensor for automated acquisition of surface contour data. A display is in signal communication with the control logic processor to process and display the acquired surface contour data.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to various systems and methods related to preventative laser-based treatment of a dental tissue; for example, to prevent a patient from forming cavities. In some instances, a laser-based treatment system can generate a laser beam pulse with a fluence profile at a treatment site that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. In some instances, the laser-based treatment system can direct the laser beam to various locations within a treatment site according to a temporal and/or spatial pattern, that results in either an increase in acid resistance of the tissue or removal of carbonate from the tissue, without melting or ablating the tissue. Many other systems and techniques for preventative and other laser-based treatment are also described.

Abstract: A method and a system for determining an orthodontic treatment plan including a tooth stripping step are provided. The method comprises: acquiring a 3D digital model of a first tooth and a second tooth of the subject, the second tooth being adjacent the first tooth; receiving a stripping request for stripping tooth material, from at least one of the first tooth along a first stripping plane and the second tooth along a second stripping plane; determining, along a surface of the first tooth, a first area of interest; determining, along the surface of the second tooth, a second area of interest; determining a distance between a first set of vertices associated with the first area of interest and a second set of vertices associated with the second area of interest; in response to the distance being greater than a predetermined distance threshold, denying, by the processor, the stripping request.

Abstract: Device for cleaning teeth which comprises a dental floss fork provided with a grippable handle and with two rods with free ends spaced from each other and a dental floss, which is mounted with a bridge section between the free ends of the two rods of the dental floss fork. The dental floss has annular extension and the dental floss fork is provided with a guide, in which the dental floss is housed, for supporting it along its annular extension. The dental floss is slidably mounted within the guide.

Abstract: A method for treating orthodontitis (i.e., gingivitis caused by malpositioned teeth). The process includes evaluating improper morphologies of alveolar bone in the horizontal dimension (i.e., orthodontosis) caused by displaced root(s) of a tooth, uprighting the root of the malpositioned tooth utilizing an orthodontic bracket system thereby causing the alveolar bone to be restored, which in-turn alleviates the orthodontitis. An orthodontic bracket is provided for use with an arch wire to apply corrective forces to a tooth. The bracket includes a vertical member having a slot formed therein for receiving the arch wire and a wide base horizontal member connected to the vertical member. The vertical member is positioned gingivally with respect to the horizontal member. The horizontal member includes opposing first and second ends that extend away from the vertical member and define a pair of spaced-apart wire engaging points engageable with the arch wire during treatment.

Abstract: An oral hygiene device is provided. The oral hygiene device includes a body having a base and first and second opposing sides extending from the base and defining a gap there between. The device may further include a plurality of corresponding notch pairs, wherein each corresponding notch pair has a first notch positioned in the first opposing side and a second notch positioned in the second opposing side. The location of the notch pairs may coincide with a user's mouth and in particular to the position of the user's teeth within the mouth. As such, a fibrous material, such as floss, may be coupled to the device such that the material spans the gap between at least one of the corresponding notch pairs so that the material may be inserted into the spaces between the user's teeth when the device is placed into the user's mouth.

Furthermore, an edge of mirror lid abuts to the second elongate side, to maintain mirror lid in a tilted pivotal angle when mirror lid is in an open state. A movable clip piece is disposed above the lower clip piece and includes an intermediate pivotal portion and a lower abutting portion behind the intermediate pivotal portion and aligned with the lower clamping portion. The movable clip piece includes a rear abutting portion and a front bent portion bending downwardly and located in front of front ends of the lower and upper clip pieces. A second elastic coupling device abuts the rear abutting portion against an upper side of the upper clip piece when the hair clip does not clamp hair.

The upper clamping arm and the lower clamping arm are set in a curved shape, the middle parts of the upper and lower clamping arms do not abut against each other to increase a large space for accommodating hair.
