Abstract: An orchestrator for providing storage access via storage gateways includes a persistent storage and a processor. The persistent storage includes a workload policy. The processor obtains a data storage access request from a client, identifies a type of workload indicated by the data storage access request, identifies a storage gateway of the storage gateways to service the storage access request using the workload policy and the identified type of workload, and assigns the identified storage gateway to provide the client with storage access.

Abstract: Techniques for web access in a 5G wireless networking environment are discussed herein. In particular, techniques can be implemented in 5th Generation (5G) environments via a web access component configured to accept HTTP requests or WebSocket requests from a user equipment and initialize a session in various components in the 5G environment to utilize a user plane function. In some instances, the web access can be provided by a web access inter-working function (WxIWF) interface in communication with an access and mobility management function (AMF) and a user plane function (UPF). In some instances, this arrangement facilitates seamless transitions between non-3GPP access and 3GPP access because traffic associated with both types utilize a same session in the 5G environment components.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed that implement cloud functionality in a cloud agnostic system. An example apparatus to implement cloud specific functionality in a cloud agnostic system includes a request interpreter to determine whether a first request includes an indication that a cloud resource is to be partially provisioned, a provision determiner to select the cloud resource based on the indication, and a cloud interface to transmit a first resource request to partially provision the cloud resource, and in response to a second request including constraints specific to the cloud resource, transmit a second resource request to fully provision the cloud resource.

Abstract: One embodiment is a method including extending a policy server to provide per subscriber policies to a cable modem (CM) and a cable modem termination system (CMTS), receiving, at the policy server, a request for a policy profile from a cable modem termination system (CMTS), accessing a subscriber database to determine the policy profile, and communicating the policy profile to the CMTS. In an example, the policy server is a packet cable multimedia policy server of a cable network.

Abstract: Management and configuration of internet of things network connected devices is facilitated herein. A proxy device comprises a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, facilitate performance of operations that comprise determining a first identity and a first operational parameter of a first device and a second identity and a second operational parameter of a second device. The first device and the second device can be associated with a defined communication network. The proxy device can be provisioned within the defined communication network and can operate as a security update proxy node for the first device and the second device. The operations can also comprise facilitating a first security update at the first device and a second security update at the second device based on a determination that the first device and the second device have delegated responsibility for security synchronization to the proxy device.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program that causes a first computer to execute a process, the process including, receiving an update request from a second computer, the update request including an identifier of data stored in a storage device, an arithmetic operator of a calculation for the data, and an argument value used for the calculation, the calculation being one of four arithmetic calculation and bit calculation, the data being stored in the storage device that denies an access from the second computer, executing the calculation for a value of the data based on the arithmetic operator and the argument value, the calculation executed by the first computer being limited to the four arithmetic calculation or the bit calculation, updating the value of the data to an output value of the executed calculation, and transmitting response information corresponding to the update request to the second computer.

Abstract: In general, techniques are described for providing a hierarchical naming scheme used to propagate state information within network devices. A network device comprising a topic database and a processor may be configured to perform the techniques. The topic database may be configured to store a hierarchical naming scheme that associates objects representative of the state information to hierarchically arranged topics. The processor may be configured to associate consuming components within the network device to the hierarchically arranged topics, and operate as a producer component to publish an object to one of the hierarchically arranged topics. The processor may also be configured to propagate the published object to one of the consumer components associated with the one of the hierarchically arranged topics.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for load balancing data messages that are sent by a source compute node (SCN) to one or more different groups of destination compute nodes (DCNs). In some embodiments, the method deploys a load balancer in the source compute node's egress datapath. This load balancer receives each data message sent from the source compute node, and determines whether the data message is addressed to one of the DCN groups for which the load balancer spreads the data traffic to balance the load across (e.g., data traffic directed to) the DCNs in the group. When the received data message is not addressed to one of the load balanced DCN groups, the load balancer forwards the received data message to its addressed destination. On the other hand, when the received data message is addressed to one of load balancer's DCN groups, the load balancer identifies a DCN in the addressed DCN group that should receive the data message, and directs the data message to the identified DCN.

Abstract: A method and system that performs file download at a client computing device after a determination that the file does not already exist on the client computing device is provided. The file download is initiated but suspended until a determination has been made that the file does not exist on the client computing device. If the file already exists (i.e., the file is a duplicate file), the user is prompted to either cancel the file download or continue the file download. However, if the file does not exist, the file download is resumed.

Abstract: A method and system for performing queries on a consolidated log directory for multiple servers in a client environment is provided. The log analysis application provides a single login for a user into multiple servers in a client environment. This allows the user to quickly and efficiently navigate client servers and client error log files to troubleshoot and perform pre-configured queries on the log files and client data.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling use of a reusable-code section across applications of different operating systems. For a first application designed for a first operating system (“OS”), a first native-code section and a reusable-code section are defined as part of the first application. For a second application designed for a second OS, a second native-code section and the reusable-code section are defined as part of the second application, and the second application is incapable of running on the first OS. The first and second native-code sections communicate with a web-services server, which communicates with a plurality of backend-services servers, at least some of which are controlled by different entities. The web-services server coordinates the execution of service requests with the backend-services servers on behalf of the first and second applications. The reusable-code section facilitates the display of user-interface elements when the first and second applications are executed.

Abstract: Message management and classification techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a message received from a sender for delivery via a user account is examined to extract one or more features of the message. A determination is then made as to whether the message corresponds to one or more categories based on the extracted features, the categories usable to enable features to be applied to the message in a user interface.

Abstract: A communication device that is connected to a network includes: a receiver, a storage and a processor. The receiver receives meta data that includes attribution information of data and access information of the data. The storage stores the meta data received by the receiver; and a processor. The processor extracts a keyword from the attribution information that is included in the meta data and store, in the storage, index information in which the keyword and information for identifying the meta data are associated with each other. The processor transmits, to a participating node in the network, a stop request that is a request to step a transmission of meta data when an amount of the index information stored in the storage is larger than or equal to a specified threshold.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for network address analysis are provided. In the method, unique identification information of a target client device located in a local area network is obtained. Packets transmitted in the local area network are listened, and a packet transmitted between the target client device and a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server is identified from the listened packets according to the unique identification information. Finally, the identified packet is analyzed to obtain a network address assigned to the target client device by the DHCP server.

Abstract: A technique includes providing, by a computer, a portal to provide a catalog describing features of a plurality of cloud services available and to be provided by otherwise unused hardware resources of a plurality of private cloud providers. The technique includes, by the computer, in response to input received through the portal selecting a given cloud service for a tenant, exposing the given cloud service to the tenant. Exposing the given cloud service to the user includes requesting a given cloud provider corresponding to the given cloud service to configure the given cloud provider to provide the given cloud service to the tenant.

Abstract: A method for provisioning resources to a user during a meeting with another user, each user having an associated computing device is provided. The method may include detecting a meeting of a first user with a second user, each of the first and second users having an associated computing device. The method may further include obtaining historical data relating to previous activity of at least one of the first and second users during one or more earlier meetings between the first and second users. The method may further include provisioning one or more resources to at least one of the first and second users based on the obtained historical data associated with the one or more earlier meetings.
