  • Patent number: 10462794
Abstract: In some implementations, an access point may receive a request to select an operating channel for a computing device. The access point may determine that a network service provider is associated with the computing device. The access point may determine that at least one neighboring access point is associated with the network service provider. The access point may determine a channel in an unlicensed spectrum that is used by the at least one neighboring access point. The access point may perform a scan of the unlicensed spectrum that excludes the channel used by the at least one neighboring access point and select the operating channel based at least partly on the scan.

  • Patent number: 10070309
Abstract: The detection and prevention of unauthorized tracking devices is described herein. For example, a mobile device may be configured to detect nearby wireless devices. The communication signal between a detected wireless device and the mobile device may be tracked over time, and used to programmatically determine the likelihood that the detected wireless device is an unknown tracking device. The user of the mobile device may be given a notification and related data when a suspicious device is identified, and the user may choose to identify the unknown tracking device as an authorized tracking device or an unauthorized tracking device. When a detected wireless device is identified as an unauthorized tracking device, various remedial actions may be performed by a user and/or a central tracking system. In one example, the central tracking system remotely deactivates the unauthorized tracking device.

  • Patent number: 10063706
Abstract: In general, embodiments of the present invention relate to conference management. Specifically, sequentially scheduled conferences (e.g., conference calls) are determined for a conference participant. The connection details (e.g., call-in details) for the second of the two conferences are retrieved. If the conference is not over when the second conference is scheduled to begin, a connection is initiated with the second conference using the connection details while maintaining a connection to the first conference.

  • Patent number: 10051533
Abstract: The system and methods of the various embodiments enable fine grained network selection decisions. This may allow a mobile network operator, a cable operator, or a Wi-Fi network operator to define network selection rules that are not only based upon network availability, time, and location, but also on network signal strength, signal to noise ratio, link speed, and cellular network radio parameters. These rules may also be complimented with local device based policies and parameters, which may possibly be based on user preferences and/or network operator preferences. The system and methods of the various embodiments also prevent inadvertent Wi-Fi network selection decisions by incorporating a time threshold parameter which defines a time period for which a wireless device must have detected a specific Wi-Fi access point prior to performing network selection.

  • Patent number: 9954749
Abstract: A detection circuit is used to detect a connection state between a first signal port of an electronic device and a first external device. The detection circuit includes a signal generator, a switch module, a signal detector, and a processing unit. The signal generator generates a test signal. During a test process, the signal generator is electrically connected to the first signal port by the switch module, such that the test signal is sent to the first signal port to test the connection state of the first signal port. The signal detector produces a detection signal according to the connection state of the first signal port. The processing unit determines the state of connection between the first signal port and the first external device by comparing the voltage of the detection signal with a threshold value.
