  • Patent number: 6872184
Abstract: A tissue collection apparatus for initiating bone formation ex vivo. A substantially cylindrical body includes a closed end, an internal surface, an open proximal end and a detachable closure cap for preventing a flow of air at the juncture thereof and the substantially cylindrical body. A first portion is integral with the detachable closure cap for allowing a flow of a collection of bone growth elements substantially having a quantity of platelets, mesenchymal cells, bone cells, blood and tissue cells, collagen and noncollagenous proteins comprising components thereof to flow into the substantially cylindrical body and strike a procoagulant surface of an interpositional admixture element so as to induce aggregation and degranulation of the quantity of platelets. The interpositional element is interposed within the substantially cylindrical body. A second portion integral with the substantially cylindrical body is provided to allow the connection of vacuum means.

  • Patent number: 6776225
Abstract: A heat exchanger assembly for a vehicle comprising at least one manifold having walls defining a chamber for retaining fluid. A mounting device is secured to the wall of the manifold. The mounting device includes a seat portion adapted to receive a fluid transmission line. The mounting device further includes an opening extending from the seat portion and aligned with an aperture in the manifold for providing a fluid passageway between the manifold and the fluid transmission line. In addition, the mounting device includes at least one indentation formed therein for capturing contaminates and preventing an intrusion of the contaminates into the seat portion.

  • Patent number: 6725907
Abstract: A thermosiphon which can be manufactured easily at low costs, having excellent resistance to pressure, without the circulation of a working fluid being hindered. A condenser 3 includes a condensing section 4 composed of extruded members in which a plurality of fine pores 7 are formed, a branching section 5 provided on an upstream side of the fine pores 7 to supply a gaseous working fluid returned from a gas pipe 12 into each of the fine pores 7, and a collecting section 6 provided on a downstream side of the fine pores 7 to collect the working fluid condensed inside the fine pores 7 and then supply the same into a liquid pipe 9. The gas pipe 12 is connected to an upper portion of the branching section 5 and the liquid pipe 9 is connected to a lower portion of the collecting section 6.

  • Patent number: 6726695
Abstract: A four-spikes surgical skin staple is composed of two stems which form a 60 degree angle V-shaped figure and four spikes, which are composed of two identical outer long spikes and two identical inner short spikes. Each of the two identical outer long spikes is fixed at a 60 degree angle to the outer end of each stem and each of the two identical inner short spikes is fixed at a 60 degree angle to the middle of each stem. The two outer long spikes are used to approximate the surgical incision wound and the two inner short spikes are used to stabilize the incision skin edges to prevent the overlapping of the skin edges. With no overlapping of the incision skin edges, the surgical incision wound can heal better and faster.

  • Patent number: 6638240
Abstract: A surgical suction instrument that includes a handle, a surgical cavity insertion tube, and a suction tube attachment fitting. The suction tube attachment fitting is in connection with the surgical cavity insertion tube at a location below a mechanical connection of the surgical cavity insertion tube and the handle. In one embodiment, the surgical cavity insertion tube terminates at a lower suction tube tip end in multiple suction intake openings formed through the bottom and bottom side surfaces of the lower suction tube tip end and each in fluid communication with a tube passageway thereof. In another, the surgical suction instrument further includes a surgical cavity insertion tube adjustment mechanism in connection between the handle and the surgical cavity insertion tube to allow the user to adjust the position of the surgical cavity insertion tube with respect to the handle as desired.
