  • Patent number: 10881310
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward devices, apparatus, and methods for interfacing a PPG apparatus with the skin surface of a patient and sensing artifacts due to surface motion attributable to contact-based surface motion at or near where the apparatus in contact with the skin surface of the patient. The devices, apparatus, and methods include circuitry that contacts the skin surface of the patient, illuminates tissue at the surface, and senses a pulse photoplethysmography (PPG) signal of the patient in response thereto. Further, the circuitry senses artifacts due to surface motion, and responds to the sensed PPG signal by processing the sensed PPG signal relative to the sensed artifacts to produce a version of the sensed PPG signal that is indicative local blood volume and composition of the patient, and filtered to suppress noise therein due to the contact-based surface motion.

  • Patent number: 10667711
Abstract: Physiological monitoring can be provided through a wearable monitor that includes two components, a flexible extended wear electrode patch and a removable reusable monitor recorder. The wearable monitor sits centrally on the patient's chest along the sternum oriented top-to-bottom. The placement of the wearable monitor in a location at the sternal midline (or immediately to either side of the sternum) benefits extended wear by removing the requirement that ECG electrodes be continually placed in the same spots on the skin throughout the monitoring period. The wearable monitor can interoperate wirelessly with other physiology and activity sensors and mobile devices, and can include cellular phone capabilities. The power usage of the wireless communication can be reduced by using a low energy wireless transceiver in the monitor. The monitor detects that the monitor has been adhered to the patient and begin collecting physiological data after such detection, preserving battery power.

  • Patent number: 10441216
Abstract: Methods to identify and risk stratify disease states, cardiac structural defects, functional cardiac deficiencies induced by teratogens and other toxic agents, pathological substrates, conduction delays and defects, and ejection fraction using single channel biological data obtained from the subject. A modified Matching Pursuit (MP) algorithm may be used to find a noiseless model of the data that is sparse and does not assume periodicity of the signal. After the model is derived, various metrics and subspaces are extracted to characterize the cardiac system. In another method, space-time domain is divided into a number of regions (which is largely determined by the signal length), the density of the signal is computed in each region and input to a learning algorithm to associate them to the desired cardiac dysfunction indicator target.
