Abstract: A golf swing training aid includes a golf club having a shaft and a club head. The club head has a hollow compartment for capturing a golf ball and is defined by a top wall, an opposing bottom wall, and a real wall. The club head has an open front face that forms an entrance into the hollow compartment. The club head has a slot formed within the bottom wall and being open along the front face of the club head for receiving a golf tee as the club head contacts the golf ball. An internal movable part is provided within the hollow compartment and moves between a raised position which allows the golf ball to travel to a rear ball capture space within the hollow compartment and a lowered position which is configured for capturing the golf ball within rear ball capture space located between the rear wall and the internal movable part.
Abstract: A large capacity magazine apparatus for spherical projectiles, such as toy foam balls that may be used in conjunction with a launcher. The magazine includes drum and clip housings and a rotatable sprocket with longitudinal flutes that together form a smooth pathway for the foam balls to travel in the magazine and to alleviate jams. The smooth pathway includes a helical path, a transition path and a linear path within the housings. A constant force spring provides a rotational force for the sprocket and a plurality of articulated rigid balls function to push the foam balls out of the magazine and into a firing chamber of the launcher.

Abstract: This invention is an apparatus and method of training an athlete to properly throw a ball utilizing proper arm and elbow position by providing a device that attaches to the athlete's waist and has a semi-rigid guide rod extending up from the waist toward the shoulders such that it is positioned to contact the athlete's arm or elbow during the throwing motion once the arm or elbow is moved back into the ideal position, thus providing a tactile signal when the ideal position is reached thereby allowing the athlete to continually train and develop muscle memory of the proper throwing position.

A first pouch has a first end with an opening configured to permit access into a cavity of the first pouch, and a second end spaced from the first end. A second pouch has a first end with an opening configured to permit access into a cavity of the second pouch, and a second end spaced from the first end. The first end of the central member is configured to removably receive the first end of the first pouch and the second end of the central member is configured to removably receive the first end of the second pouch, such that when joined together, the central member, the first pouch, and the second pouch are in the shape of a bow.

Abstract: A ball tracking system is disclosed which includes a display, sensors, a launch monitor and a processor that receives data from the sensors and from the launch monitors and outputs a rendering to the display. Specifically, the sensors are positioned to detect a plurality of observed ball flight paths, each in the plurality originating from a different ball strike at a different location. The sensors' field of view is correlated to three-dimensional space. The launch monitor is positioned to detect one of the ball strikes and to measure the launch parameters of that ball strike. The processor performs several processing steps to match the ball strike detected by the launch monitor to the ball flight paths observed by the sensors, and creates a rendering using both the predicted and the observed data.
Abstract: A golf training device for practicing putting, chipping, or other golf shots includes a target suspended from a support frame. The diameter of the target simulates the diameter of a standard golf cup, and the height of the target above the surface is adjustable via one or more adjustment mechanisms so that the golf training device can be used on actual golf course surfaces. A lower base provides a containment area for golf balls hit into the device, a resilient cover on the lower base absorbs the impact of hit golf balls and directs them into the containment area. The device is easily repositioned via a carrying handle, and folds via hinge mechanisms to provide compact storage.

Abstract: A method for analyzing sensor data from baseball swings (or swings in similar sports) that transforms data into a reference frame defined by the bat orientation and velocity at impact. The swing plane defined by these two axes provides a natural and robust reference frame for physically relevant measurements of swing characteristics. Illustrative swing metrics derived from swing plane reference frame data include: swing speed, defined as a rotational rate within the swing plane; total swing angle, defined as the angular change within the swing plane; and swing tempo, defined as the percentage of peak swing speed achieved halfway through the swing. Analyzing these metrics from multiple swings across multiple users identifies factors that contribute to peak performance. Metrics may be combined into multidimensional feature vectors that characterize a swing; these feature vectors may be used to group swings into swing styles or to match swings against similar players.

A securing strip secures the sod to the base, for example, along three of the exterior edges of the top of the sod. In an embodiment the securing strip has a plurality of teeth for better gripping the sod. The device allows a user to practice a golf swing on real grass and further allows the grass to be changed for fresh grass once worn. A rotatable handle may be provided which allows for the easy movement of the portable golf practice swing surface.

A flexible push portion is mounted on an end of the body, and a launchable cylinder is slidably accommodated in the body.
