Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for automatically switching to a digital multimedia content provider. The system includes a server in data communication with one or more vehicles and one or more digital multimedia content provider servers. The server may include a memory storing keyword data and a processor connected to the memory. The processor may receive identifying information corresponding to a vehicle occupant or interest information associated with the vehicle occupant from a vehicle. The processor may receive streaming data from the digital multimedia content provider servers. The processor may compare the received streaming data against the keyword data. The processor may detect a match between the streaming data and the keyword data based on the comparison. The processor may identify at least one digital multimedia content provider server based on the detected match. The processor may transmit data related to the identified digital multimedia content provider server to the vehicle.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, device, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for using radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled remote control for providing payment information for the media systems. An example embodiment operates by a computer-implemented method. The method includes receiving, by at least one computer processor of a media device, payment information from a remote control. The payment information is received at the remote control using an RFID reader module of the remote control. The method further includes promoting an authentication request and receiving an authentication response in response to the authentication request. The method further include transmitting the payment information to a server for further processing in response to the authentication response satisfying a condition.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating video search are disclosed. An example apparatus includes one or more processors to execute instructions to process first metadata associated with video to identify the video as corresponding to an episode of a television show, the video made available by a first device. The example one or more processors are to update a database to include first information concerning the episode of the television show based on the first metadata and access second metadata associated with the video, the second metadata collected from a second device. Additionally, the example one or more processors are to process the second metadata to determine second information about the episode of the television show and augment the database with the second information about the episode of the television show.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for transmitting an 8K Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding (SHVC) service based on broadcast network interconnection. The method includes defining signaling information for the 8K SHVC service, and delivering the defined signaling information to a MPEG Media Transport (MMT)/Real time Object delivery Over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) packetizer or to a gateway, separating 8K content into a base layer compatible with a broadcast network and an enhancement layer compatible with a communication network, delivering the base layer from the MMT/ROUTE packetizer to a receiver through the gateway and a transmitter, and delivering the enhancement layer to the receiver through a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) server.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus and an operating method thereof. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a display; a network interface unit that performs communication through a network; and a controller, wherein the controller checks an expected end time of content output through the display, obtains frame data for a screen output through the display at a first time point prior to a preset time from the expected end time, calculates an actual end time point of the content based on the obtained frame data, and outputs a user interface (UI) recommending at least one product related to the content, at the calculated actual end time point, through the display. Abstract: Techniques are described for adaptive control of media channel interfaces for delivery of media content over communications systems to transport craft passengers. Embodiments monitor viewership of various media channel offerings provided to transport craft passengers to compute aggregated viewership scores. Based on the scores, respective prominence parameters associated with the various media channel offerings can be automatically updated. Interface control signals can be communicated to cause media channel interfaces being displayed on passenger devices to dynamically and automatically update the graphical listings of the media channel offerings in accordance with the updates to their respective prominence parameters. Dynamically updating the graphical prominence of different media channel offerings can tend to make passengers more likely to view a smaller subset of the media channel offerings, thereby helping to maintain high passenger satisfaction with less network capacity demand.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for recommending and dynamically scheduling content. A time when a request to consume a content item is likely to be received is identified and an identifier of the content item is displayed on a device. Prior to the identified time, an option to consume, at the identified time, the content item is also displayed on the device. In response to the option being selected, the device stops displaying the identifier of the content item until the identified time.

Abstract: A system may selectively deliver interactive portions of a piece of content, based for example on a recipient user's historical tendency to use interactive portions of prior content. Multiple levels of interactivity may be defined for a given piece of content, such as an advertisement, and different users may receive different levels of interactivity based on how much they use interactive features. Some users may receive no interactive features at all, while others may receive the interactive features, and despite the fact that all of the users' devices may be perfectly capable of processing the interactive features for the user. The omission from transmission may conserve bandwidth and transmission resources.

Abstract: Embodiments are related to faster provisioning of targeted advertisements at a set-top box (STB) via an Internet Protocol (IP) connection between the STB and a remote server. The disclosed IP-based advertisement distribution system enables targeted advertisements to be pulled from the remote server efficiently, causing the advertisements to be made available within a short time frame (e.g., less than one day from the time when the advertisements are available). The disclosed methods enables a STB to determine whether to retain existing targeted advertisements, discard them, or provision newly-available advertisements. The targeted advertisements can depend on various factors such as demographic information of an owner of the STB, lifestyle information of the owner of the STB, etc.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting a conflict between viewing selections of two users before viewing a media asset. In some aspects, the method comprises receiving an audio input through an audio channel, detecting a first utterance from a first user and a second utterance from a second user in the input of the audio channel, parsing the first utterance and the second utterance, analyzing the first utterance and the second utterance to determine context about the first media asset and the second media asset, and presenting a conflict to the users to display on the media asset.
