Abstract: A network interface controller can include a sideband port controller. The sideband port controller can provide a sideband connection between the network and a sideband endpoint circuit that can be operative to communicate with the network via a sideband. The sideband port controller can include an event notification unit operative to compile information into an event notification packet. The sideband port controller can further include a packet parser. In embodiments, the packet parser could be operative to analyzes a packet to provide an indication that the packet contains the event notification packet. In embodiments, the sideband port controller could be operative to forward the information in the event notification packet to the sideband endpoint circuit, responsive to that indication.

  • Patent number: 10028175
Abstract: Communication systems and methods suitable for use in a Multiple Line Multiple Device service environment, involving a native line and a second shared line, are disclosed. Logic at one or more nodes and application servers is configured to ensure that network handover data, or other information, is only updated for the native line registration but not the shared line. Then when a call is placed or received on the shared line, the call is anchored to the native line based on that network handover data. If, during that call, a request is received to handover the call from a first network having a first communication protocol to a second network having a second communication protocol, the handover occurs based on the anchored native line. In one example embodiment the first network is a Packet Switched network and the second network is a Circuit Switched network.

  • Patent number: 10020977
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for providing enhanced services to telephone subscribers with multiple telephone lines, which can include one or more traditional telephone lines, wireless telephone lines, Internet protocol-based telephone lines, and/or the like. For example, certain tools can provide a subscriber with a unified voice mailbox for a plurality of the subscriber's telephone lines. In some cases, the subscriber does not need to check multiple voice mailboxes (each associated with one of the subscriber's telephone numbers) in order to ensure that the subscriber has received all messages intended for that subscriber. Instead, any incoming call on any of the subscriber's lines can be routed to a converged voice mailbox for easy retrieval by the subscriber of all messages from one location. Some tools employ a VoIP switch to handle routing of the incoming call to the correct voice mailbox.

  • Patent number: 10020983
Abstract: A fault isolation system asynchronously builds a fault domain graph to identify fault domains to isolate a root cause of a problem in a computer network. Basically, when the fault isolation system receives a notification that an entity of the network is unreachable (i.e., in a down status), the fault isolation system requests neighbor lists and statuses for the neighbors to asynchronously build a fault domain graph. From that topology, the fault isolation system determines a root cause of the problem with the network.

  • Patent number: 9980211
Abstract: Inter-carrier scanning is triggered in a mobile device based at least in part on location thereof. Femto access point (AP) that can serve the mobile device can determine location through cell or sector identifier that is extracted via scan(s) of macro wireless environment of the femto AP. Femto AP can rank extracted sector identifier(s) and establish home macro sector (HMS) identifier(s), and also can generate scanning requirements for idle-mode scan(s) by a mobile device that operates in a HMS and is authorized to access wireless coverage through the femto AP. Scanning requirement(s) can force periodic inter-carrier measurements of a HMS wireless environment, and establish HMS-specific radio link quality threshold(s). Wireless network can receive at least one of HMS identifier(s) and scanning requirement(s) and deliver same to mobile device(s) authorized to exploit wireless coverage through femto AP associated with the HMS ID(s) and the scanning requirement(s).

  • Patent number: 9961632
Abstract: A wireless user equipment (UE) device may include a receiver and transmitter. The UE device may dynamically vary the fidelity requirements imposed on the analog signal processing performed by the receiver and/or the transmitter in response factors such as: amount of signal interference (e.g., out-of-band signal power); modulation and coding scheme; number of spatial streams; extent of transmitter leakage; and size and/or frequency location of resources allocated to the UE device. Thus, the UE device may consume less power on average than a UE device that is designed to satisfy fixed fidelity requirements associated with a worst case reception scenario and/or a worst case transmission scenario.

  • Patent number: 9949248
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for improving blind-decoding and interference suppression associated with interference from non-serving cells in a wireless network, specifically, performing interference suppression on the non-serving cell control channel. Various aspect employ network-assisted blind-decoding of non-serving cell signals at UEs through the coordination, communication, and use of communication restriction conditions. Network aspects may restrict certain communications between eNBs and served UEs, and communicate the restrictions to non-served UE. The non-served UEs can then leverage the restrictions for more efficient blind-decoding of interfering eNB signals and interference cancellation of interfering eNB signals.
