Abstract: A system and method for transmission of a video stream are provided. The system may include: an encoder adapted to generate a video stream comprising a plurality of encoded frames, encoded according to at least one encoding parameter; a comparator in communication with the encoder, the comparator adapted to compare encoded frames of the plurality of encoded frames with input frames to determine a fitness metric reflective of visual quality of the encoded frames; and a controller in communication with the comparator, the controller adapted to adjust the at least one encoding parameter based on the fitness metric.

Abstract: System and method for optimizing event alerts in an information technology (IT) infrastructure management system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises tracking one or more event alerts triggered by monitoring tools. The method further comprises determining a probable usage for at least one configuration item associated with the one or more event alerts. The method further comprises determining a probable threshold value for each of the at least one configuration item based on the probable usage and capacity data. The method further comprises computing a final threshold value for each of the at least one configuration item based on the probable threshold value, seasonality data, or semantic context data. The method further comprises optimizing the event alerts by filtering at least one unwanted event alert from the one or more event alerts based on at least one of the final threshold value and filtering rules.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a computer cluster arrangement and a method for operation of the introduced computer cluster arrangement. The computer cluster arrangement comprises computation nodes CN, which dynamically outsource specific computation tasks to boosters B. Therefore, an assignment technique of boosters B to computation nodes CN is introduced. The assignment takes dynamically place at runtime. The present invention finds application in high performance cluster technology.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques and systems for controlling a broadcast mode and a timer mode to update data stored in respective caches of multiple cache servers. When a cache server is operating in the broadcast mode, the cache server receives a data update or a notification of a data update from a broadcast server. When a cache server is operating in the timer mode, the cache server updates its cache without the use of, or reliance upon, the broadcast server. A cache server is configured to operate in the broadcast mode based on a determination that the broadcast server is capable of broadcasting (e.g., sending) messages and/or data updates to the cache servers. In contrast, a cache server is configured to operate in the timer mode based on a determination that the broadcast server is incapable of broadcasting messages and/or data updates to the cache servers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and managing stories and sub-stories presented to a user's client device are described. In one example embodiment, a server system communicates a portion of a first story to a first client device based on a first client device association with a user segment assigned to the first story. The server system receives a first selection communication associated with a first piece of content of the first story, accesses a second story based on the selection, and communicates a portion of the second story to the first client device.

Abstract: Releases to the production environment of a cloud computing environment are deployed in a manner that maintains control over restricted data and the data plane of the cloud computing environment. A DevOps personnel is tasked with developing the release. However, the DevOps personnel is not authorized to deploy the release to the cloud computing environment because the DevOps personnel does not have access to restricted data in the cloud computing environment or the ability to modify the cloud computing environment to gain access to restricted data. Operating personnel who has access to restricted data and the right to modify the cloud computing environment is notified of the release and given release specifications providing details of the release. If the operator approves the release, the release is transferred to the cloud computing environment. A deployment engine then automatically deploys the release to the production environment of the cloud computing environment.

In response to an access control list change request including the account name of an account the access control entry of which is to be changed and the contents of the change, an access control list change unit retrieves an account ID recorded while being associated with the account name from the account association table and changes, in accordance with the contents of the change, an access control entry in which the retrieved account ID is recorded among account control entries in an access control list to be changed.

Abstract: System and method can support data communication in a heterogeneous environment. The system can establish a connection between a first device and a second device, wherein the connection is based on a protocol, which associates a host mode or an accessory mode with one or more connected devices. Furthermore, a controller on the first device can determine a device type associated with the second device, and can configure the first device to be in either the host mode or the accessory mode, based on the determined device type associated with the second device, to handle data communication between the first device and the second device.

The method further includes generating, at the computing device, client analytics data associated with at least one of receiving, processing, or playback of the media stream. The method further includes transmitting, from the computing device, the client analytics data to an analytics device, the client analytics data including metadata indicating that the client analytics data is associated with a particular category of data.

Abstract: The techniques of the present disclosure acquire requirement description information of a user, acquire at least one resource component according to the requirement description information, the resource component being a component that constitutes a network resource desired by the user, or a function component for realizing a part of functions of the network resource; and assemble the network resource according to the at least one resource component. The techniques of the present disclosure enhance a matching degree between the network resource and the user's requirement, thereby meeting the requirement of the user with respect to the network resource.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for enabling a redirection application to use non-proxy-enabled modules for communication with a server through a proxy server, in which a non-proxy-enabled module takes an address or an URL as the input to establish a connection with the server. This system and method does not require administrative access (e.g. super-user, root, and the like), which is useful for mobile devices where obtaining such privileges is typically difficult. In one embodiment, a media application may use a media player provided by an operating system as a module. In this embodiment, the media application is the redirection application and the media player is the module. The non-proxy-enabled modules use addresses or URLs to locate and fetch data.

Abstract: A method for sending a message, a method for reading and notifying a message, a method for receiving a message, and an apparatus are provided. Reading status of a message to be read is fed back, so that a user at a sending end can know in time whether the short message has already been read, which improves communication efficiency and enhances user awareness of the reading status of the message to be read.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for configuring a LISP mobility network. A management tool receives a configuration for a network fabric. The configuration specifies values for one or more attributes associated with a Locator ID Separation Protocol (LISP)-enabled network. The management tool generates one or more commands based on the specified values for the one or more attributes associated with the LISP-enabled network. The generated commands are distributed to a plurality of network devices in the network fabric. Each network device executes the one or more commands to configure the network fabric.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for generating media information, a terminal, a server, and an adaptive streaming system. Media code streams of m types of code rate, which are generated by an AHS system, are divided into h groups, and tracing codes are separately embedded into code stream segments of each group. The tracing codes embedded into the code stream segments, and code stream group information are stored in a media presentation description MPD file. In a downloading process of a terminal, tracing of an end user that downloads media data is implemented.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to real-time streaming of large quantities of time critical data over multiple distinct networks from a wireless communications device. More specifically, embodiments described herein may address challenges and problems of maintaining consistent data reception quality when faced with the anomalies of a moving sender that is sending data using a relatively unstable radio frequency (RF) method. This may be achieved by converting single source data into multiple data streams, placing them in transport buffers and storing them for forwarding. A plurality radio frequency interface modules provide wireless connectivity to a plurality of wireless networks for transmission over the plurality of networks. Links are maintained to provide feedback on network connections to allow for the transfer of data from one network to another, from one radio frequency interface module to another, and to adjust the amount of data being transmitted.

Abstract: Historical telemetry data can be used to generate predictions for various classes of data at various aggregates of a system that implements an online service. An anomaly detection process can then be utilized to detect anomalies for a class of data at a selected aggregate. An example anomaly detection process includes receiving telemetry data originating from a plurality of client devices, selecting a class of data from the telemetry data, converting the class of data to a set of metrics, aggregating the set of metrics according to a component of interest to obtain values of aggregated metrics over time for the component of interest, determining a prediction error by comparing the values of the aggregated metrics to a prediction, detecting an anomaly based at least in part on the prediction error, and transmitting an alert message of the anomaly to a receiving entity.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing lawful interception in an IMS network. A first node in an IMS network receives a message from a Lawful Intercept mediation system node instructing the first node to perform lawful interception on a target. The first node sends a subscribe request message towards a second node located in an IMS core network. The subscribe request message includes at least an identity of a service type to be monitored. The first node subsequently receives a notify message from the second node, the notify message including session information from which intercept related information can be derived. The first node then sends intercept related information towards the Lawful Intercept mediation system node.

Abstract: A controller of an in-home controller receives, via a terminal communicator, input data related to a manager registration transmitted from a terminal device. The controller performs a manager registration based on the received input data. Also, the controller generates user registration request data containing a user ID and a password extracted from the received input data, a controller ID read from data storage. The controller transmits the generated user registration request data to an external server via a wide-area communicator.

Abstract: Generally, this disclosure provides systems, devices, methods and computer readable media for estimation of application execution performance variations on a processor, without a priori knowledge of the application. A system may include network traffic data collection circuitry configured to sample a first network traffic statistic, from a network interface circuit associated with the processor, at a first sampling time interval during the application execution. The network traffic data collection circuitry may also be configured to sample a second network traffic statistic from the network interface circuit at a second sampling time interval during the application execution.
