  • Patent number: 10306142
Abstract: A headset for panoramic photography, including a left receiver body and a right receiver body for being mounted on the left ear and the right ear of a user. A side of the left receiver body away from the left ear of a user is provided with a left camera, and a side of the right receiver body away from the right ear of the user is provided with a right camera. The cameras are ultra-wide-angle with a field angle of at least 180°, and optical axes of the cameras are perpendicular to optical axes of eyes of the user. User can listen, speak, and shoot photos or videos without hand-holding the camera. By shooting within a field angle of 180° at the left and right sides of a human body, a 360° panoramic image is obtained by merging the acquired images, thus produces simulated images and Virtual Reality environment.

  • Patent number: 10306231
Abstract: A length indicator associated with an encoded representation of a slice is parsed. The length indicator is indicative of a length of an extension field present in a slice header of the encoded representation. A decoder can then determine to ignore, during decoding of the encoded representation, any value of the extension field in the slice header where these values are identified based on the length indicator. As a consequence, an extension field can be added to slice headers and still enable legacy decoders to correctly decode the encoded representations.

  • Patent number: 10296797
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for identifying occupancy of a seat use a camera. In order to achieve permanently reliable identification of the occupancy of a seat, the camera is oriented such that it captures at least one area of interest of the seat. An evaluation apparatus is used to identify the area of interest in a picture taken by the camera and to store a position for the area of interest. The evaluation apparatus selects the area of interest in pictures subsequently taken by the camera at the stored position and compares the area of interest with at least one stored picture sample. A result of this comparison is taken as a basis for identifying the seat as being occupied. In addition, an apparatus having a camera and an evaluation apparatus is described for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 10291864
Abstract: It is possible to generate a panoramic moving image with a high combination performance while suppressing a calculation amount. The positional-shift-amount acquisition unit acquires positional shift amounts of a predetermined number of frames from a first moving image and a second moving image captured by cameras, each of the first and second moving images including a plurality of frames. The frame selection unit selects the predetermined number of frames from the plurality of frames. For example, the frame selection unit selects the predetermined number of frames on the basis of sensor output and/or image processing results. An image combination unit combines the first moving image and the second moving image on the basis of the positional shift amounts of the predetermined number of frames to obtain a panoramic image.

  • Patent number: 10277904
Abstract: Video pixel line buffers are widely used for data processing in video codecs. Video data may be packed into buffers configured to store a plurality of words, each word comprising a series of bits. The video data may be associated with two or more channels. In order to reduce realization costs, data blocks from two different channels may be packed from opposite sides of a word in the buffer in opposite directions. In some embodiments, data blocks from two or more physical channels may be mapped to two or more virtual channels, the virtual channels having balanced data block sizes. The data blocks associated with the virtual channels may then be packed to one or more buffers.

  • Patent number: 10275111
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter provides a digital sign with a video camera. The digital sign and video camera are connected via a communications medium to a central computer. The central computer provides a way of changing the images displayed on the digital sign and of disseminating the video from the video camera either through real time forwarding/viewing or recording the real time video stream and playing back the recorded video to a user. The central computer also provides a user interface where an authorized user, which would normally include an authorized governmental entity, can view the video stream and unilaterally interrupt the normally displayed image (or series of images) with an emergency notification message that would display on the digital sign.

  • Patent number: 10277910
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for escape color coding for palette coding mode. A video bitstream may be received. The video bitstream may comprise a quantization parameter (QP) and/or a quantized escape color value that corresponds to an escape color pixel. A scaled escape color value may be generated by scaling the quantized escape color value by a scaling factor. A left-shift parameter may be determined based on the QP. A left-shifted escape color value may be generated by left-shifting the scaled escape color value based on the left-shift parameter. A right-shifted escape color value may be generated by right-shifting the left-shifted escape color value based on a constant parameter. A reconstructed escape color value may be determined based on the right-shifted escape color value. The device may decode the video bitstream based on the reconstructed escape color value.

  • Patent number: 10271021
Abstract: A vehicle has a camera system that captures video while the vehicle moves. The vehicle records the captured video and/or wirelessly transmits the captured video to a remote user device for playback. When the vehicle is moving, a coarse waypoint is identified and a trajectory is determined from the current location of the vehicle to the coarse waypoint that reduces (e.g., minimizes) sudden changes in direction of movement of the vehicle, reduces (e.g., minimizes) sudden changes in speed of the vehicle, and/or reduces (e.g., minimizes) sudden changes in acceleration of the vehicle by reducing (e.g., minimizing) jerk or snap of the vehicle trajectory. One or more fine waypoints along the trajectory are selected and the vehicle moves to the coarse waypoint along the trajectory by passing through those fine waypoints, resulting in smooth movement of the device that reduces or eliminates motion sickness for users viewing the captured video.

  • Patent number: 10257498
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for coordination of structured light-based image detectors. In some examples, one or more structured light sources may be configured to project sets of points onto the scene. The sets of points may be arranged into disjoint sets of geometrical shapes such as lines, where each geometrical shape includes a subset of the points projected by an illumination source. A relative position and or a color of the points in each geometrical shape may encode an identification code with which each illumination source may be identified. Thus, even when the point clouds projected by each of the illumination sources overlap, the geometrical shapes may still be detected, and thereby a corresponding illumination source may be identified. A depth map may then be estimated based on stereo vision principles or depth-from-focus principles by one or more image detectors.

  • Patent number: 10254487
Abstract: A fiber optic connector endface inspection probe includes a microscope system, a camera module, and an image processing system. While the objective lens of the microscope system is being moved towards and past the focused position for the endface of a mated connector, either by manually turning a focusing knob in one direction or via an automatic transmission mechanism, the camera module continuously takes and sends endface images to the image processing system, wherein a microprocessor continuously monitors the sharpness of the endface images to acquire a focused image and analyze it to make an endface inspection pass/fail judgment, without using an external display to monitor the endface images. The microprocessor further comprises an embedded web server for converting endface images and inspection report into web pages to be transmitted by a wireless transmitter of the image processing system to external devices for optional monitoring or manual inspection.

  • Patent number: 10230866
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for reducing a perceived latency associated with uploading and annotating video data. For example, video data may be divided into video sections that are uploaded individually so that the video sections may be annotated as they are received. This reduces a latency associated with the annotation process, as a portion of the video data is annotated before an entirety of the video data is uploaded. In addition, the annotation data may be used to generate a master clip table and extract individual video clips from the video data.
