  • Patent number: 11176765
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatuses and corresponding and associated methodologies for achieving current inventory data management in combination with an electronic access control system. An access control system provides access control data while the sealed enclosure incorporates an RFID reading system for determining the identity of respective tagged contents within the enclosure. Particularly in conjunction with the storage of controlled substances, such as some drugs utilized on an EMS vehicle, a form of RFID tag may be practiced which operationally is fully or partially destroyed or damaged, or otherwise impacted or affected so as to generate a changed ID, whenever the contained medicinal dosage is acquired for administration. By reading contents of the enclosure (narc box) prior to a work shift, and at the conclusion of the work shift, comprising tracking comparative methodology, usage of the tagged drugs may be tracked.

  • Patent number: 11170899
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods detect a health condition of a user that may be assessed from a thermal sensor signal and/or radar sensor signal. One or more resultant biometric vectors may be generated from biometric vectors based on the thermal and radar signals, where the resultant biometric vectors contain resultant information about one or more biometric features for a user. Hazard information about the user is obtained from the one or more resultant biometric vectors, where the hazard information is indicative of a health event for the user. Consequently, an appropriate action on behalf of the user may be performed to ameliorate the health condition. The one or more resultant biometric vectors may include additional biometric features and/or a time sequence of the resultant biometric vectors to enhance hazard prediction. Moreover, the apparatuses and methods may support the user in different settings including a home, business, or vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11160251
Abstract: An animal ear tag contains control circuitry for generating data. An antenna in the tag emits a wireless signal including the data, and an energy storage provides electric energy to the control circuitry and the antenna. The energy storage is arranged in a first part of the tag and the antenna is arranged in a second part of the tag. When attached to the animal, the first and second parts are interconnected via a shaft member inserted through an ear of the animal in such a manner that the first part is located on a first side of the ear and the second part is located on a second side of the ear. When the first and second parts are interconnected, the energy storage is located off-centered from a symmetry axis of the shaft member. As a result, the tag becomes relatively fixed in a well-defined orientation.

  • Patent number: 11145199
Abstract: Several implementations of an access point, an application server, and instances of an application operating upon a cell phone are disclosed. These implementations support the cell phone and its application traveling on a vehicle, which wirelessly communicates through a wireless router, such as a Bluetooth router with an access point situated in a cabinet to direct a traffic controller driving a traffic light. The wireless router responds to a cell phone initiated by the app, by reporting the location and speed of the vehicle, often further including the vehicle type, such as a bicycle or heavy truck. The traffic controller may lengthen a green light in response to a heavy truck, to reduce wear on roadways. The access point may respond to a bicycle, by confirming its presence to the bicycle driver as well as adjust the traffic controller.

  • Patent number: 11145205
Abstract: A system and method for addressing roadside parking issues are provided. The method includes: determining whether a parking fee has been paid for an on-street parking space, and if not, activating a detector of the corresponding parking meter; determining whether an object exists in the parking space and whether the object, if existing, is a vehicle, and if yes to both, activating a camera of the parking meter to obtain an image of the parking space; determining again whether the object is a vehicle by performing image and license plate recognition, and if yes, either prompting a parking enforcement officer to go to the parking space and issue a parking ticket or issuing the parking ticket automatically; updating the parking meter after the parking ticket is issued; and reducing the detection frequency. The method is labor-saving and reduces power consumption by the parking meter.

  • Patent number: 11138864
Abstract: An early alert system and a method for livestock disease detection are disclosed. An activity measurement zone (AMZ) is defined near an incentive device (e.g. a livestock feeder) with an RFID tag reader and a uniquely-designed feedlot fence crossbar-embedded RFID antenna, which amplifies multiple signal wavelengths in a single dipole antenna. The early alert system is configured to detect and count an animal's access into the AMZ with an RFID tag attached to the animal. If the animals' activity relative to the AMZ drops to an alarmingly low level (e.g. dropping below an alert trigger point) over time, then a user of the early alert system is informed of a potential health problem of the animal and may also be encouraged to inspect the animal in person for further determination of its current health and potential medical issues.

  • Patent number: 11110940
Abstract: A method and driver assistance system for generating touch-based alerts to a driver in a vehicle is disclosed. The driver assistance system receives frames including the driver in vehicle and detects position of face of the driver in plurality of frames. Facial attributes of the driver are identified based on position of the face and one or more eye attributes of the driver are determined based on the identified one or more facial attributes. Based on the facial attributes and the one or more eye attribute sensory information is estimated from a plurality of sensory data. Further, information regarding haptic sensation is computed for the driver based on estimated sensory information and a position of hands of the driver received from a hand tracking device. Thereafter, an alert is generated using signals relating to the haptic sensation to the driver for taking one or more corrective measure.

  • Patent number: 11104269
Abstract: A vehicle computing system may implement techniques to dynamically modify warning signals from a vehicle to ensure that an object (e.g., dynamic object) is notified of the vehicle operation. A vehicle computing system may emit a first warning signal including an audio and/or visual signal and may detect an object reaction to the first warning signal. Based on a determination that the object reaction does not substantially alter the ability for the vehicle to overcome the object, the vehicle computing system may modify a frequency, volume, luminosity, color, shape, motion, etc. of the first warning signal to emit a second warning signal. The vehicle computing system may continually modify warning signals until the object reacts according to an expected reaction or becomes irrelevant to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11105197
Abstract: A downhole acoustic transmitter has a piezoelectric transducer, an enclosure in which the piezoelectric transducer is housed, a transducer preload means which applies a selected compressive force against the transducer such that a mechanical preload is applied to the transducer, and an acoustic tuning element which has a first end coupled to the transducer preload means or the transducer, and an open second end. The acoustic tuning element is not coupled to anything but the transducer preload means or transducer, so the transducer preload means effectively has a second open end and thus can maintain the same preload compressive force on the transducer even when the transmitter is subjected to tension and compressive forces during operation.
