  • Patent number: 10956628
Abstract: A method and system provide performance computing on a public grid. A computational mesh to solve a received engineering simulation (that has computations/processes) is computed. The mesh divides the CAD model up spatially into elements where conservation equations are formed. Mesh vertices identify nodes where field variables are defined. Each process owns a node/element and is assigned to a mesh partition. A solver application installed on each computer and each computer CPU spawns a thread to each CPU core. A matrix is assembled by each thread that computes numerical operators (that are stored as a coefficient matrix) that represent the conservation equations. The matrix is solved by solving the equations represented by the coefficient matrix. The solving yields field vectors that update the field variables at the nodes. The engineering solution is rendered based on the updated field variables.

  • Patent number: 10943037
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and corresponding system for generating a computer-aided design (CAD) model from a finite element mesh. The method of the invention begins with selecting one or more mesh-element-faces on a finite element mesh that represents a geometric object to be formed of one or more geometric faces. Next, from the one or more selected mesh-element-faces, respective geometric faces are generated. Finally, any generated geometric faces are stitched together to make a geometric shell of the geometric object that the finite element mesh represents.

  • Patent number: 10934813
Abstract: In some aspects, the present invention comprises a system and method for optimizing the control scheme used for drilling operations based on the complex and large data sets available in realtime during operation of a wellsite and based on existing model data available at the wellsite for past similar drilling operations. Such optimizations typically require downtime to quantify how the realtime values will factor into the control model, but the present invention allows for such optimization in realtime in a closed-loop system that will reduce the non-productive time associated with reservoir operations.

  • Patent number: 10929194
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes applying a first partition to a plurality of LPs, wherein a particular LP is assigned to a first set of LPs. A second partition is applied to the LPs, wherein the particular LP is assigned to an LP set different from the first set. For both the first and second partitions, lookahead values and transit times are determined for each of the LPs and related links. For the first partition, a first system progression rate is computed using a specified function with the lookahead values and transit times determined for the first partition. For the second partition, a second system progression rate is computed using the specified function with the lookahead values and transit times determined for the second partition. The first and second system progression rates are compared to determine which is the lowest.

  • Patent number: 10896241
Abstract: An information processing apparatus manufactured at low cost and with ease and that is capable of making a search for a ground state of an arbitrary Ising model. An information processing unit containing a plurality of semiconductor chips, each retains a value of one spin or values of a plurality of spins and simulates interactions among the spins, inter-chip wiring between the necessary semiconductor chips, and a control unit that cause each semiconductor chip to perform interaction computation. The control unit converts data of a problem into data of a lattice-shaped Ising model, which is possibly expressed by the plurality of semiconductor chips, without causing a spin arrangement, in a ground state of an Ising model for the problem, to be changed. The data of the lattice-shaped Ising model is divided for allocation to the plurality of semiconductor chips, and causes each semiconductor chip to perform the interaction computation.
