  • Patent number: 9116834
Abstract: Algorithm for reconstructing grating profile in a metrology application is disclosed to numerically solve a volume integral equation for a current density. It employs implicit construction of a vector field that is related to electric field and a current density by a selection of continuous components of vector field being continuous at one or more material boundaries, so as to determine an approximate solution of a current density. The vector field is represented by a finite Fourier series with respect to at least one direction, x, y. Numerically solving volume integral equation comprises determining a component of a current density by convolution of the vector field with a convolution operator, which comprises material and geometric properties of structure in the x, y directions. The current density is represented by a finite Fourier series with respect to x, y directions. Continuous components are extracted using convolution operators acting on electric field and current density.

  • Patent number: 9103741
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for assessing residual life of an airfoil, which would experience high cycle fatigue failure under at- or near-resonance vibration condition, are provided. The method includes receiving, at a processing system, at least one vibration response parameter associated with the airfoil. The method processes at least one cracked airfoil finite element model. Processing the cracked airfoil finite element model includes accessing the cracked airfoil finite element model, computing a modal stress intensity factor (SIF) of the cracked airfoil finite element model using fracture mechanics based finite element analysis, and computing a vibratory SIF based, at least in part, on the modal SIF and the at least one vibration response parameter. The method then computes a residual life indicator of the airfoil based, at least in part, on the vibratory SIF.

  • Patent number: 9098651
Abstract: A prior simulation of a velocity field and a temperature field is carried out, and snapshot data of the velocity field and that of the temperature field are collected during the prior simulation. Then principal component analysis on the collected snapshot data obtains velocity-field and temperature field dimension transformation matrixes, on the based on which the analysis models of the velocity field and temperature field having respective first degrees of freedom are converted into reduced degree-of-freedom models. Consequently, a simulation of the velocity field and the temperature field is carried out using models having respective reduced degrees of freedom (i.e., second degrees of freedom).

  • Patent number: 9098653
Abstract: A simulation environment verifies processor-sparing functions in a simulated processor core. The simulation environment executes a first simulation for a simulated processor core. During the simulation, the simulation environment creates a simulation model dump file. At a later point in time, the simulation environment executes a second simulation for the simulated processor core. The simulation environment saves the state of the simulated processor core. The simulation environment then replaces the state of the simulated processor core by loading the previously created simulation model dump file. The simulation environment then sets the state of the simulated processor core to execute processor-sparing code and resumes the second simulation.

  • Patent number: 9089387
Abstract: Herein are provided methods, systems, computer-readable media, techniques and processes for surface manipulation in dental prosthesis design. These include providing an interface for modifying the surface of a model of a dental prosthesis. This interface may be provided to an operator, dentist, dental practitioner, or any other appropriate person via a computer and a computer display. The operator provides areas in which the operator would like to add a layer or other limited manipulation to the surface of the model. This may include an addition to the surface or a subtraction from the surface. As the operator is defining additional areas to manipulate on the surface (e.g., add or subtract a layer), invariably some of them will overlap. Unlike previous methods, this overlap will not cause the amount added to the surface to increase beyond the predefined limit for the layer. This allows operators to define cleanly added layers or cleanly subtracted layers from dental prostheses.

  • Patent number: 9087166
Abstract: A method for design simulation includes partitioning a verification task of a design (100) into a first plurality of atomic Processing Elements (PEs-108) having execution dependencies (112), each execution dependency specifying that a respective first PE is to be executed before a respective second PE. The method further includes computing an order for executing the PEs on a multiprocessor device (32), which includes a second plurality of processors (44) operating in parallel and schedules the PEs for execution by the processors according to a built-in scheduling policy. The order induces concurrent execution of the PEs by different ones of the processors without violating the execution dependencies, irrespective of the scheduling policy. The PEs are executed on the processors in accordance with the computed order and the scheduling policy, to produce a simulation result. A performance of the design is verified responsively to the simulation result.
