  • Patent number: 10735924
Abstract: In one embodiment, a supervisory service receives a registration message broadcast by a first vehicle and captured by a RSU in the network of RSUs. The supervisory service registers the first vehicle by validating a signature of the registration message without registering a media access control (MAC) address of the first vehicle and without causing to send a registration response to the first vehicle. The supervisory service receives a message broadcast by a second vehicle addressed to the first vehicle and captured by at least one RSU in the network of RSUs. The supervisory service selects one or more RSUs in the network of RSUs to re-broadcast the message. The supervisory service controls the one or more RSUs to re-broadcast the message.

  • Patent number: 10721727
Abstract: In narrowband communication, channels may use repetitions in multiple subframes. SPS and DRX for the narrowband communication may not accommodate such repetitions, because repetitions for a channel may fall only partially within a DRX ON duration. An apparatus addresses this problem by determining a DRX ON duration, determining a set of subframes carrying a narrowband PDCCH candidate and determining that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes of the narrowband PDCCH. The apparatus then refrains from decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, decodes the first narrowband PDCCH candidate, or extends the DRX ON duration to include the set of subframes entirely and decoding the first narrowband PDCCH candidate carried in the set of subframes in the extended DRX ON duration. The apparatus may also determine DRX configuration parameters based on parameters of bundled channels, and handle invalid subframes for an SPS grant.

  • Patent number: 10715273
Abstract: A joint channel estimation and data detection technique for decoding an uplink control channel using resource elements that are redundant in acknowledgement and negative acknowledgement uplink control channel transmissions is disclosed. To improve the performance of a decoder, channel estimation can be performed using reference signals (pilot symbols) to determine the characteristics of a channel at given locations within a subframe. For some uplink control channel formats, however, there aren't dedicated locations for reference signals/symbols, and so channel estimation is not performed.

  • Patent number: 10708119
Abstract: Embodiments determine failures of a network element (NE) in an outside plant utilizing a connectivity trail that indicates NEs starting at the headend and ending at a distribution tap that serves one or more customer premise devices associated to a customer account. Embodiments determine a failed NE that serves the highest number of customers for which a trouble is reported to a ticketing system. Embodiments avoid reporting downstream child NEs that may be performing poorly due to the upstream failed parent NE. Embodiments associate the one or more customer premise devices, and a customer account with respective NEs of the connectivity trail, perform operational metric tests to determine whether a customer premise device associated with a customer account has failed, determine when an NE of the connectivity trail has failed. Embodiments also include rebooting the failed NE and/or notifying a ticketing system accordingly.
