  • Patent number: 10740887
Abstract: Various embodiments are provided for evaluating a focus status of a camera. A reference image is stored in a memory based on first image data received from the camera. Second image data is received from the camera in accordance with a predetermined schedule. A focus status of a test image of the second image data is classified, and it is determined whether the camera is in a state of focus based on the focus status of the test image. A focus of the camera is changed when the camera is determined not to be in the state of focus. A new reference image is stored in the memory based on third image data received from the camera, with the third image data being received after changing the focus of the camera.

  • Patent number: 10658814
Abstract: A modulated light source comprises a laser diode and a drive circuit coupled operatively to the laser diode. The laser diode is configured to lase upon passing an above-threshold current for an accumulation period. The drive circuit is configured to draw a priming current through the laser diode over a priming period, the priming current being insufficient to cause the laser diode to lase during the priming period, but sufficient to shorten the accumulation period. The drive circuit is further configured to draw the above-threshold current through the laser diode after the priming period, thereby triggering emission from the laser diode following a shortened accumulation period.

  • Patent number: 10595732
Abstract: A pulse wave detection device color converts a frame image of a moving image from RBG components to YIQ components, and identifies an eye section using the eye color of a user prepared in advance with a Q component. Next, the pulse wave detection device uses the Y values of the eye section to detect the brightness of the imaging environment. Then, the pulse wave detection device detects a pulse wave signal Qm on the basis of the average of the Q-values of a skin section in the frame image, corrects a change in the brightness by subtracting from Qm the average value Ye of the Y values of the eye section, and thereby outputs a post-brightness-correction Qm. As a result, a pulse wave can be successfully detected even if the brightness is changing because the user is moving in a vehicle or the like.
