  • Patent number: 11711691
Abstract: In one example, an Access Point (AP) configures a first mapping of a first cellular network connection to a first local access network group, and further configures a second mapping of a second cellular network connection to a second local access network group. The AP determines whether a user device is authorized to use the first cellular network connection or the second cellular network connection. If the user device is authorized to use the first cellular network connection, the AP associates, for the user device, a first user device identifier with the first local access network group. If the user device is authorized to use the second cellular network connection, the AP associates, for the user device, a second user device identifier with the second local access network group.

  • Patent number: 11671814
Abstract: In various examples, upon successful transmission of a device-based hybrid (DBH) location from a UE to a cellular network upon that UE placing an Enhanced 911 (E911) call, a horizontal uncertainty associated with the DBH location is taken into account. If that uncertainty reaches a threshold value, alternative location information in the form of one or more of a Cell Identity (CID) or an Enhanced Cell Identity (E-CID) associated with the UE can be used in generating a location report that is then sent to a Public Safety Answering Point. As a result, first responders may be able to more quickly locate distressed E911 callers.

  • Patent number: 11627618
Abstract: A system uses signals received from actual user equipment (UE) to build in real time a reception pattern for base stations in a cellular communication system. Each UE is assigned a unique tone to broadcast so that a controller can analyze radio coverage by analyzing which base stations received signals from each UE in a coverage area. Cellular base stations necessarily have overlapping coverage and are assigned unique channel access values to avoid repeating values from overlapping cell sites. As overlaps change in real time, in response to live events, traffic jams, site outages, and new sites, signals received from UEs in the coverage area provide a real time view of system coverage. This allows better allocation of channel access values than prior art historical performance indicators using base station and controller call errors.

  • Patent number: 11558727
Abstract: Systems and methods of testing the handling of, or response to, transmitted Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) that include a geofenced area. The testing can include providing first location Global Positioning System (GPS) signals to user equipment, causing the user equipment to determine it is geographically located at the first location. A WEA alert can be provided to the user equipment and the WEA can include a geofenced area that does not include the first location. The user equipment can be provided GPS signals corresponding to a second location that is within the geofenced area of the WEA. Verification can then be performed to check that the user equipment displays the WEA alert, or message, in response to the user equipment determining its geographical position as corresponding to the second location that is within the geofenced area.
