  • Patent number: 7285890
Abstract: Permanent magnets are mounted on a rotor of an electrical motor by an apparatus that keeps an adhesive bonding layer between the magnet and rotor in compression over wide variations in temperature and speed of rotation. The mechanical stresses on the magnets are controlled using compliant layers and spacers. The apparatus allows the removal and replacement of individual magnets.

  • Patent number: 7265463
Abstract: A rotary electric apparatus, such as on-vehicle three-phase AC generator (i.e., alternator) comprises a main rotary unit, a semiconductor power converter, and an air cooling mechanism. The main rotary unit is provided with a rotor and an armature disposed as a stator around the armature. The armature has armature windings wound therearound. The semiconductor power converter is disposed together with the main rotary unit. The air cooling mechanism cools down the semiconductor power converter. This mechanism comprises a fan motor driven in response to an AC (alternating current) excitation by current coming from the armature windings.

  • Patent number: 7208854
Abstract: A wound field synchronous machine includes direct oil cooling along a conductive sleeve with elongated semi-arcuate shaped channels which alternate with damper bar channels containing tie-rod supports structures. With a reduction in sleeve thickness permitted by the direct cooling, the overall weight of the machine is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7202584
Abstract: A position-control stage system is disclosed, which may ensure much space to install the armature assembly on the bed, even with small in dimension. Correspondingly, the position-control stage system itself is made high in propulsion and efficient in operating performances including high-speed traveling, high response, high-precision position-control, and so on, even with compact or slim in construction. Armature windings to provide an armature assembly are made of three-phase coreless windings wound in annular flat configuration, and disposed on the bed radially outside of a rolling-contact bearing in a way closely adjacent to the bearing. Magnets to provide a field magnet array are each made in a segment, and disposed on the turntable in opposition to the armature windings in a way alternating in polarity circularly on a desired circular surface.

  • Patent number: 7129604
Abstract: An air cooled type generator includes a housing, an engine, a cooling fan mounted in the engine, a generator body having a first side juxtaposed to the engine, and a cooling fan rotatably mounted on an opened second side of the generator body and including a plurality of blades each having an inner side formed with a first wing and an outer side formed with a second wing. Thus, the first wing and the second wing of each of the blades co-operate to carry the hot air away from the generator body rapidly, thereby enhancing the heat dissipation effect of the cooling fan. In addition, the generator only needs to provide two cooling fans to achieve the heat dissipation effect, so that the generator has a simplified construction and a smaller volume and is assembled easily and conveniently.

  • Patent number: 6960858
Abstract: A motor which uses a permanent magnet is provided in which output thrust is improved by increasing a magnetic saturation limit and preventing reduction in magnetic flux and generation of heat is reduced by inhibiting generation of an eddy current in a magnetic pole. An N magnetic pole is formed such that its width increases as the distance from a stator increases on a side of an N pole magnetic yoke and an S magnetic pole is formed such that its width increases as the distance from the stator increases on a side of an S pole magnetic yoke. With this structure, a saturation limit of magnetic flux at an entrance of yoke which is a connection section between the N magnetic pole and the N pole magnetic yoke is increased and motor thrust is improved.
