  • Patent number: 11201780
Abstract: Some aspects provide for establishing a radio connection for the wireless communication, determining a configuration for whether to segment one or more packets for the wireless communication using the established radio connection, and communicating the one or more packets based on the determined configuration. Some aspects provide for assembling a first frame comprising one or more packets, transmitting the first frame, determining whether a portion of one or more packets was truncated during the assembling of the first frame, and transmitting a second frame comprising at least the truncated portion of the one or more packets of the first frame. Some aspects provide for receiving a first frame comprising one or more packets, determining that a portion of one or more packets is truncated, and determining whether to ignore as padding at least the truncated portion of the one or more packets of the first frame.

  • Patent number: 11197242
Abstract: In one embodiment, a first wireless access point (AP) of a first basic service set (BSS) receives, from a second wireless AP of a second BSS, data indicative of an 802.11-based target wake time (TWT) schedule of a client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP identifies, from the receive data, a scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS in the TWT schedule. The first wireless AP generates an 802.11-based TWT schedule for a client of the first BSS that avoids the scheduled communication time of the client of the second BSS. The first wireless AP sends the generated 802.11-based TWT schedule to the client of the first BSS, wherein the sent TWT schedule causes the client of the first BSS to wake from sleep at a scheduled wake time.

  • Patent number: 11096225
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, etc., directed to resource solicitation for Fog Radio Access Network (RAN) are disclosed herein. For some embodiments, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive a Fog-Resource Solicitation, for example included in a paging message, for joining a Fog Radio Access Network (RAN) platform (e.g., soliciting resources). The WTRU may accept or decline the Fog-Resource Solicitation, for example, based on any of the solicited resources and the WTRU status. In case the WTRU accepts the fog-Resource Solicitation, the WTRU may establish a connection to the RAN for indicating an acceptance of the Fog-Resource Solicitation. In case the WTRU declines the Fog-Resource Solicitation, the WTRU may ignore the Fog-Resource Solicitation or respond to the Fog-Resource Solicitation by establishing a connection to the RAN, indicating a declination of the solicitation. For some embodiments, a WTRU may trigger sending a RRC-Connection Release Request to e.g.

  • Patent number: 11076314
Abstract: A mobility management entity (MME) can enable overload control of data transmission via control plane in an evolved packet system (EPS), optimized for cellular internet of things (CIoT), by use of a control plane data backoff timer that suppresses the use of control plane for data transfer by a user equipment (UE) for the duration of the timer. For example, an MME sends a control plane data backoff timer to a UE that suppresses the use of control plane for data transfer for the duration of the timer. Alternatively, when an MME load reaches a threshold, an MME triggers an Overload Start message and sends it to the RAN node, so that the RAN node can restrict selecting this MME for UEs requiring data transfer using control plane CIoT optimization. The RAN node can reject these UEs and return a wait timer in an RRC Connection Release message.

  • Patent number: 11051288
Abstract: A small cell device may communicate with a user device (e.g., a smartphone, a tablet computer, etc.) via a range extender device that extends the effective range of the small cell device to the user device. The small cell device, the range extender device, and the user device may communicate with one another using channels of a licensed spectrum (e.g., traditional LTE channels). The range extender device may determine channel conditions corresponding to an unlicensed spectrum (e.g., 5 Gigahertz (GHz) Spectrum) and communicate the channel conditions to the small cell device. Based on the channel conditions, the small cell device and the range extender device may select downlink-only channels of the unlicensed spectrum and cause the downlink capabilities of the channels of the unlicensed spectrum to be augmented by the downlink capabilities of the downlink-only channels of the unlicensed spectrum.
