  • Patent number: 6660023
Abstract: A tissue anchor having a length of filament held so that an applied force greater than a threshold force will cause the filament to move longitudinally, while an applied force less than the threshold force will not move the filament, and methods of attaching soft tissue to bone using such an anchor.

  • Patent number: 6517538
Abstract: An apparatus, method and kit are provided for removal of polyps, especially pursuant to colonoscopic surgery. The apparatus includes an endoscopic guide tube, a heating element, a power transmitting element traversing through the guide tube and communicating with the heating element, at least one temperature sensor for measuring temperature near the polyp, and optionally an external monitor for receiving temperature data from the sensor and then activating a power source for adjusting the temperature of the heating element in a controlled manner. An operator/physician can manually set the temperature range and temperature increase rate, but preferentially this is achieved automatically through a pre-programmed computer schedule.

  • Patent number: 6454763
Abstract: A laser surgical device for removal of intraocular tissue including a handpiece and a tip. The handpiece has a sleeve that creates a passage way for irrigation fluid. An optic fiber or similar light conveying means is contained within the handpiece. A passageway for aspiration is included in the handpiece and continues into the tip. The tip is configured with a photon trap that captures stray laser light and prevents it from continuing into the eye.

  • Patent number: 6302901
Abstract: An apparatus for thermal low periodic wave treatment includes a pair of shock plates, a storage battery and a main control circuit, and a housing enclosing the main control circuit and the storage battery. The apparatus is characterized in that the shock plates are each provided with a sensing plate and a plurality of heating wires, and by way of a transmission wire, the shock plates are linked to the main control circuit, and any corresponding action of the main control circuit is transmitted to the shock plates and at the same time, provides the shock plates with a heat source and low periodic wave pulse source. The main control circuit includes a single chip CPU, and a DC charger switching circuit directly connected thereto, a voltage-stabilizing circuit, a ringing circuit, a heating circuit, a press key control circuit, a voltage-elevating and feedback monitoring circuit, a polar switching circuit and a display.
