Abstract: Compounds having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: m=1 or 2;q=1 or 2;Y=a haloethylene or haloethenyl group;X is oxygen or sulfur;A=N or CH;R is H, CH.sub.3 or F;R.sub.1 is selected from the group comprising chlorine, bromine, fluorine CF.sub.3, phenyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 haloalkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkylthio radical, wherein the halogen is Cl, Br or F;R.sub.2 is selected from the group comprising H, chlorine, bromine or fluorine; andR.sub.f is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 polyfluoroalkyl or a C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 polyfluoroalkenyl radical containing at least 3 fluorine atoms and, optionally, other halogen atoms selected from the group comprising Cl and Br. These compounds have good fungicidal activity.

Abstract: Herbicidal aryl triazolinones include the compounds of the formula ##STR1## where X is preferably halogen such as fluorine, Y is preferably halogen such as chlorine, R.sup.1 is preferably methyl, R.sup.2 is preferably CHF.sub.2, R.sup.3 is preferably CH(CH.sub.3). Z is oxygen or sulfur. R.sup.4 may be alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, monovalent cyclic having a ring of 5 or 6 atoms or ZR.sup.4 may be a residue of an amine, a sulfonamide, or an oxime.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of optically active azolylcarbinol derivatives having antimycotic fungicidal and plant growth regulating properties from racemic mixtures thereof. The (-)-enantiomer of 2-(4-chloro-phenoxymethyl)-3,3-dimethyl-1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-butanol of the formula ##STR1## is prepared.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an asymmetrically modified borohydride type compound obtained by reacting an optically active amino alcohol represented by the formula, ##STR1## or its salt with an acid with a borohydride compound; its production method; and a method for producing an optically active alcohol derivative useful as fungicides, herbicides or plant growth regulators and represented by the formula, ##STR2## which comprises asymmetrically reducing a ketone compound represented by the formula, ##STR3## with the asymmetrically modified borohydride type compound.
