  • Patent number: 11134441
Abstract: A device may receive signal information associated with a wireless signal or charge information associated with a charge level. The signal information may indicate a signal strength of the wireless signal. The charge information may indicate the charge level of a battery of the device. The device may determine whether the signal strength or the charge level satisfies a threshold. The device may configure a parameter or a setting of the device to cause the device to operate according to a long term evolution (LTE) category based on determining whether the signal strength or the charge level satisfies the threshold. The LTE category may be different from a default LTE category of the device and may define an uplink/downlink capability specification. The device may attach to a network in association with configuring the parameter or the setting to cause the device to operate according to the LTE category.

  • Patent number: 11107488
Abstract: A system configured to perform echo cancellation using a reduced number of reference signals. The system may perform multi-channel acoustic echo cancellation (MCAEC) processing on a first portion of a microphone audio signal that corresponds to early reflections and may perform single-channel acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) processing on a second portion of the microphone audio signal that corresponds to late reverberations. For example, the system may use MCAEC processing on a plurality of reference audio signals to generate a first echo estimate signal and may subtract the first echo estimate signal from the microphone audio signal to generate a residual audio signal. The system may delay the first echo estimate signal, perform the AEC processing to generate a second echo estimate signal, and subtract the second echo estimate signal from the residual audio signal to generate an output audio signal. This reduces an overall complexity associated with performing echo cancellation.

  • Patent number: 11095414
Abstract: In a wireless communication system, a control channel is required in order to use limited resources effectively. However, the control channel resource is part of the system overhead, and thus reduces the data channel resource used for data transmission. In the long term evolution (LTE) system based on OFDM, one sub frame the consists of fourteen OFDM symbols wherein a maximum of three OFDM symbols are used for the control channel resource and remaining eleven OFDM symbols are used for the data channel resource. Therefore, the quantity of energy that can be transmitted for the control channel resource is extremely limited compared to the data channel resource. For this reason, the coverage of the control channel becomes less than that of the data channel, and even if a user can successfully receive the data channel, reception failure of a control channel sometimes results in failure of data recovery.

  • Patent number: 11019441
Abstract: A position sensor may include a resonator attachable to a first object, and an antenna attachable to a second object and driven at a resonant frequency of the resonator. A change in a position of the first object relative to the second object may be sensed as a change in a power of the antenna when the antenna is driven at the resonant frequency of the resonator. The first object may be a former of a speaker, and a voice coil of the speaker may be positioned on the former together with the position sensor. In operation, the antenna may output a position signal to an external system of electronics, indicating a position of the voice coil. The external system of electronics may perform feedback processing to compensate for nonlinearities in the voice coil's position when the voice coil is used to drive a diaphragm of the speaker.

  • Patent number: 10986510
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with wireless circuitry and control circuitry. The wireless circuitry may include a phased antenna array. Sensors and other circuitry in the electronic device may generate sensor data such as accelerometer data, gyroscope data, magnetometer data, location data, and spatial ranging data. The wireless circuitry may establish and maintain one or more wireless links with external devices based on the sensor data as the device moves over time. For example, the wireless circuitry may perform physical layer beam adjustments, inter-radio access technology handovers, intra-radio access technology handovers, and/or dual connectivity adjustments based on the sensor data. This may allow the device to maintain one or more wireless links without having to sweep the signal beam of the phased antenna array over its entire field of view each time the device has moved.
