  • Patent number: 6755403
Abstract: A stabilizer bar assembly has a stabilizer bar and a pair of bushing assemblies. Each bushing assembly has an elastomeric bushing disposed around the stabilizer bar and an outer metal member disposed around the elastomeric bushing. The outer metal member compresses the elastomeric bushing between the stabilizer bar and the outer metal member to a prespecified percent of compression. When the stabilizer bar rotates with respect to the outer metal member, the compression of the elastomeric bushing stops movement between the elastomeric bushing and the stabilizer bar and between the elastomeric bushing and the outer metal member. A fastening strap is attached to the outer metal member to attach the stabilizer bar assembly to a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6749187
Abstract: A shock-absorbing structure includes an elastic helical body, and an elastic helical curved tube. The elastic helical body is formed with a plurality of loops and a plurality of buffer spaces each defined between any two adjacent loops. The elastic helical curved tube is formed with a plurality of curved convex portions each inserted into a respective buffer space and urged between any two adjacent loops. Thus, the buffer spaces of the elastic helical body provide a cushioning effect. In addition, the elastic helical body and the elastic helical curved tube produce an elastic restoring force, so as to damp and reduce the stress applied on the shoe sole, thereby providing a shock-absorbing effect.

  • Patent number: 6691839
Abstract: A reduced drag wet disc brake assembly is disclosed in which the viscosity of the fluid in the assembly is capable of changing. At higher traveling speeds, the viscosity of the fluid is low. However, when the viscosity of the fluid increases the speed of the vehicle decreases. The wet disc brake assembly comprises a brake cavity, a rotating plate disposed within the cavity that is rotatingly connected to the hub, two non-rotating plates disposed within the cavity on either side of the rotating plate, a current source connected to the rotating and non-rotating plates, and an electrorheological fluid filling the brake cavity. The viscosity of the electrorheological fluid changes depending on the electric current experienced by the fluid. In an alternative embodiment, the brake assembly also includes a coiled conductive wire connected to a current source to produce a magnetic field and the cavity is filled with magnetic Theological fluid instead of electrorheological fluid.
