Abstract: In a step of producing a powder product of the alga belonging to the genus Dunaliella, a pH adjusting step is included in which an alga belonging to the genus Dunaliella is allowed to be in a basic state of pH 9.5 or higher. According to the method, it is possible to provide dried Dunaliella powder containing ?-carotene at a high content by suppressing degradation of ?-carotene as an active ingredient while decreasing each of the total pheophorbide amount and the existing pheophorbide amount to a predetermined value or less, even if the total pheophorbide amount and the existing pheophorbide amount of the cultured algae belonging to the genus Dunaliella are higher in summer.
Abstract: The composition for treating tumors is a natural tumor treatment made from plant extracts, animal secretions and essential oils. The composition includes a solid mixture which is taken with a liquid mixture. The solid mixture is a mixture of Dorema ammoniacum, castoreum, myrrh, Cistus creticus, Asarum europaeum, cucumber seed, Egyptian cucumber seed, pumpkin seed, watermelon seed, cantaloupe seed, psyllium husk, Astragalus tragacanthus, mastic, and lump sugar. Each of these solid ingredients is ground separately and then purified through sifting, draining and smoothing. Once ground and purified, the solid powders are mixed together into a homogenous mixture. These solids are delivered to the patient in pill, capsule, powder, solution or serum injection form. Approximately 12 grams of the solid mixture is taken with approximately 250 mL of a liquid mixture of the essential oils of Borago officinalis, fennel, Trachyspermum ammi, and Cichorium.
Abstract: A process and kit for the production of paraffin sections of biological tissue, especially for molecular pathology studies, is described. In the process, the tissue sample is simultaneously fixed, dehydrated and cleared in a first step, subsequently dehydrated and cleared in a second step and infiltrated with an inert specimen matrix in a third step. The specimen can then be further embedded in a casting supporting matrix according to the standard procedures followed by any local pathology or research laboratory. The method is uncomplicated, requires little hands-on time, is reproducible and is standardized thereby limiting cross-center pre-analytical variance. A bio-indicator system for measuring the degree of crosslinking is also disclosed.

Abstract: Fortified food and dietary supplement products may be administered to produce desirable physiological improvement. In particular, embodiments of the invention relates to the administration of products enhanced with plant products and iridoids. A study was performed to evaluate the iridoid content, as well as the in vitro and in vivo bioactivities, of a beverage containing noni fruit, Cornelian cherries, and olive leaf extract. The major iridoids present were identified as asperulosidic acid, deacetylasperulosidic acid, oleuropein, morroniside, loganic acid, and loganin In the 2,2-Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, remarkably high in vitro antioxidant activity was observed, with an IC50 of 3.8 ?L/mL. In vivo bioactivities were evaluated in type 2 diabetic Sprague Dawley rats.

Also, it can help recovery from the disease through the continued drinking thereof even after the onset of the disease, and when prepared into a drink, it is easy to drink so that it can be taken at ordinary times, and thus is effective for the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia and stroke.
Abstract: A cocoa extract which is rich in procyanidin monomers and oligomers is made by extracting de-fatted, unroasted, unfermented cocoa beans with organic solvents. The yield of procyanidins in an extract varies with type of solvent used, reaction temperature, reaction pH and whether or not the solvent is an aqueous solution. Extraction parameters can be optimized to increase procyanidin yield, and different conditions result in the preferential extraction of the higher or lower oligomers. A preferred extraction method is counter-current extraction method.
