The system including an electronic image capturing device, comprising an optical assembly, which provides a first optical channel for a first imaging beam path imaging the object region on a first sensor area of the image capturing device and a second optical channel for a second imaging beam path imaging the object region on a second sensor area of the image capturing device and which contains a microscope main objective system, through which the first imaging beam path and the second imaging beam path pass, comprising a first image producing device for the visualization of the object region for a first observer, to whom a first image of the object region, captured on the first sensor area, and a second image of the object region, captured on the second sensor area, are suppliable, and comprising a second image producing device for visualizing the object region for a second observer.

Abstract: A method for managing multimedia data by a contents server comprises the steps of: generating one or more chunks from an input image; generating chunk information of the input image including a list of the generated chunks; performing an identity check among chunks on the basis of the chunk information of the input image and chunk information stored in the contents server; and updating the stored chunk information according to a result of the identity check, wherein the chunks are a meaningful scene unit in an image.

Abstract: A system for wireless distribution of aircraft data, avionics parameters or control commands between a standardized aircraft interface point and other systems, including a portable in-flight entertainment (IFE) server. The system comprises an aircraft data system with avionics buses for carrying at least one of aircraft data, avionics parameters or control commands. A first module is configured to directly interface with the avionics buses, in order to read/write data. A second module is configured to combine/adapt the data and generate signals of the combined/adapted data. A third module is configured to transmit the signals from the second module via wireless standard protocols towards the portable IFE server. The IFE server is configured to receive the signals from the third module.

Abstract: The described technology is directed towards returning expanded data, beyond the data that was specifically requested, to a client, in order to reduce or eliminate likely subsequent requests for more data. Client requests for data items are processed by expansion rule logic to find an expansion rule set (e.g., file) corresponding to the identified data item. The rule set is used to expand requests for certain data items into expanded requests that return more data items than those requested. Client devices receive, cache and (often) use the cached expanded data items, which thereby reduces the overall number of requests to the data service. Expansion rules may be based upon observations (e.g., machine learned and/or manual) of request patterns, so as to reasonably predict which data item or items clients will likely next need, and return those as expanded data items in anticipation of their need.

Abstract: An endoscopic apparatus and method to capture an image of in-vivo tissue with automatic exposure control. For example, the method includes capturing image data on an image sensor and analyzing an indication of brightness of each pixel to determine whether the captured image data is saturated. When the image data is saturated, the method includes reducing the exposure period by a first increment, and repeating the capturing and analyzing steps until the captured image data is not saturated. When the captured image data is not saturated, in some embodiments, the method includes analyzing the indication of brightness of each pixel compared to a threshold indicative of use of a proportion of an available dynamic range of the image sensor, and when it is determined that the threshold has not been reached, increasing the exposure period by a second increment that has a magnitude relative to the first increment.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include a system, computer readable medium, and method for recording and distributing video content based on DRM parameters. For example, in one embodiment, a set-top box is disclosed that includes a processor for executing a set of instructions. The set-top box also includes memory in communication with the processor. The processor is configured to execute the set of instructions to receive user input to record a video content; determine DRM parameters associated with the video content, wherein the DRM parameters are established by at least of a content owner and a communications service provider, the DRM parameters indicating designated portions of the video content that is recordable; and record the video content based on the DRM parameters.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for targeting of advertising content for a consumer product, by obtaining consumer demographic data, the consumer demographic data including a plurality of demographic attributes for each person; identifying a plurality of media slots; and obtaining program information for a respective identified program aired in each media slot among the plurality of media slots, the program information including viewing data of a plurality of viewing persons viewing the program and each viewing person being among the plurality of persons.

Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for replacing default advertisement streams in a media stream with replacement advertisement streams. User profile information is obtained for a particular user and/or device. A default advertisement stream is identified and replaced with advertisement streams selected using the user profile information. Timestamp information and sequence number information is maintained to allow uninterrupted delivery of the modified media stream while customizing media streams for particular users.

Abstract: Methods for managing digital content include authenticating a user account identifier from a client device over a computer network, registering a telephone number for at least one wireless mobile device in a registry identified with the user account based on the authenticating, as a pre-authorized identifier for accessing digital content licensed for use with the client device. The methods include maintaining a library of digital content identified with the user account for access by the at least one wireless mobile device, and initiating streaming of the digital video content to the at least one wireless mobile device without requiring user authentication from the at least one wireless mobile device, based on the registering of the telephone number as the pre-authorized identifier. An apparatus for performing the method comprises a processor coupled to a memory, the memory holding instructions for performing steps of the method as summarized above.

The control unit performs control in a manner that multi-reception diversity of the stream related to the other information processing device is set based on the capability information regarding the other information processing device and a use of the information processing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for collecting various types of data relating to a sporting event and processing the collected data to improve a broadcast of the sporting event to remote devices. A performance measuring device may be integrated, constructed, weaved or placed, for example, in or on the clothes of athletes that participate in the sporting event. The performance measuring device then monitors real-time motion data and positional information of each athlete within an area associated with the sporting event.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing customized television advertisements. In one aspect, television advertising templates are used for generating customized television advertisements. The television advertisement templates include targeting criteria specifying targeting conditions for the television advertising template, which are conditions for selecting the television advertisement template for an advertisement availability, and content selection criteria specifying availability content associated with an advertisement availability for use in selecting variable advertisement content elements for inclusion in a customized television advertisement generated from the television advertising template. The variable advertisement content elements can include video elements, audio elements, and text elements.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically identifying non-canonical user sessions utilize demographics associated with a device identifier in comparison to demographics associated with requested content (e.g. video, website, etc.). If the demographics match above a threshold, then the session may be assumed to be canonical or associated with the original user. If the demographics of the content do not match the demographics of the user, then the session may be considered non-canonical. Upon identifying a non-canonical session, content selection based on demographics may be suspended until a timer expires or the session ends.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a set-top box determines whether to communicate a notification to a user device to live stream multimedia content. The notification comprises an option to initiate live streaming of the multimedia content. The set-top box communicates the notification to the user device to live stream the multimedia content. A user device communicates a selection to initiate live streaming of the multimedia content to the set-top box. In response to the selection, the set-top box live streams the multimedia content to the user device.

Abstract: In some embodiments a content delivery system for controlling media content provided by at least one media device for media consumption by at least one consumer is described. In an embodiment the system comprises at least one sensor for sensing body data of the at least one consumer, a receiver for receiving sensed body data from the sensor, a data store storing media content for selection, at least one media device for outputting said selected content to said at least one consumer, and at least one processor configured to query said data store and control the selection of said media content based at least in part on the sensed body data, and control the output of said selected media content to said at least one media device. The sensed body data may indicate the mood or emotional state of the consumer.

The LCT header includes a sequence number representing a position of the fragment; a version representing a position of the part of the fragment in the fragment; an NTP time corresponding to the BaseMediaDecodeTime; sample count start information representing a position of a first sample of the part of the fragment from a first sample of the fragment; and a moof subset that is at least part of the moof. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a case of multicast-delivering content.

In one example embodiment, a system to provide a community-based recommendation engine comprises a recommendation detector, a contact evaluation module, and a decision module. The recommendation detector is configured to receive, at a viewer's system, a recommendation for a content item from a contact of a viewer. The contact evaluation module is configured to access a rule assigned to the contact by the viewer. The rule indicates an action to be performed based on a content rating provided by the contact in the recommendation. The decision module is configured to determine the action to be at the viewer system, based on the content rating in the recommendation and the rule, and to initiate the action at the view system.
