  • Patent number: 6419206
Abstract: In an attachment structure for attaching a door to a case, plural first ribs and plural second ribs are provided in an inner wall surface defining an attachment hole of the case at different positions shifted from each other in a circumferential direction of the attachment hole. The first ribs and the second ribs protrude from the inner wall surface to an inner radial side in the attachment hole. In addition, each first rib and each second rib are positioned at different position in an axial direction of the attachment hole. Accordingly, when a shaft of the door is inserted into the attachment hole of the case, door attachment performance can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6416033
Abstract: A valve actuation system with cooperating pneumatic and hydraulic control features. Compressed pneumatic fluid is generated in a pneumatic fluid supply, and flows in response to requirements between a predetermined command signal and an existing position of a working fluid valve. Hydraulic fluid is pressurized by a pump, and stored within the system by an accumulator. A servo valve comprising a pneumatic fluid flow path and a hydraulic fluid flow path is included to facilitate the flow of hydraulic fluid through the servo valve hydraulic fluid path and a downstream actuator for the working fluid valve in proportion to changes in pneumatic fluid flow through the servo valve pneumatic fluid flow path. A saturated fluid feedback circuit is included to shut off the flow of pneumatic and hydraulic fluid during select periods, such periods typically coincident with static conditions within the actuator of the working fluid valve, thereby reducing pump duty cycle.

  • Patent number: 6416035
Abstract: In a throttle body with a Torquer drive, the rotor of the drive motor is seated directly on the shaft (14) of the throttle butterfly (16). In order to achieve permanent axial retention of the shaft in combination with simplicity of assembly, the rotor is press-fitted on to the shaft (14), a retaining washer (52) is provided between the throttle butterfly (16) and the rotor, the retaining washer being fixed axially on the shaft (14) or on a throttle housing (12) and engaging with a defined axial play in a gap (32) on the other element, and the two axial, housing-side contact surfaces of the retaining washer (52) being formed by a fastening plate (56) screwed to the housing (12) and by a stop (54) provided on the housing (12). The narrow axial retention device allows rotor-side arrangement for simpler assembly in combination with a short and rigid throttle-butterfly shaft (14).

  • Patent number: 6401976
Abstract: An electrically operated fluid dispenser for dispensing a pattern of viscous fluid onto a substrate during a run mode. The dispenser is turned off and does not dispense the viscous fluid during a standby mode of operation. The dispenser includes a dispenser body having an outlet and an armature disposed in the dispenser body for movement between an opened position allowing a fluid flow from the outlet and a closed position preventing the fluid flow from the outlet. A coil is mounted adjacent the armature and selectively generates an electromagnetic field for moving the armature between the opened and closed positions. A controller includes different apparatus and methods for using the coil as a heater as well as providing other heat transfer devices on the dispensing valve to maintain a constant temperature either, during only the run mode or, during both, the run and the standby modes.

  • Patent number: 6386390
Abstract: A dispenser has a container for a liquid, a vent opening to allow air into the container, a valve to control the admission of air into the container, and a dispensing opening for the liquid to be dispensed therefrom. The dispenser is mounted with the dispensing opening at the bottom. When the valve is closed, a pressure differential is created that prevents the liquid in the container from flowing out. Upon opening of the vent valve, the pressure differential is reduced and dispensing can continue. Such a dispenser can be used to dispense fluids of varying viscosities and even nonporous solids. In one embodiment of the invention, an infrared radiation emitter and an infrared radiation detector are arranged in such a manner that, when a hand is placed below the dispenser, radiation from the emitter impinges on the hand and is reflected to the detector.

  • Patent number: 6375151
Abstract: A vehicle electronic throttle control assembly includes a position controlling device that automatically returns the throttle assembly components to a home position. A generally arcuate spring interacts with a plate portion supported on a shaft that is associated with the throttle blade portion. The natural bias of the spring biases the shaft and blade portion into a home position. The position controlling device accommodates situations where the electric motor assembly of the throttle control arrangement fails to operate as desired or does not receive proper power or command signals, for example.

  • Patent number: 6367773
Abstract: A throttle valve control device provided with a throttle valve 3 formed in an elliptic shape such that a major axis is a center line 3c connecting mounting holes 3a and 3b for fixing the valve 3 to a throttle shaft 2. A clearance A is provided between an edge of the elliptic valve 3 in a minor axis and an inner wall of a throttle bore 1b configuring an intake passage, while the minimum open area needed for idle engine operation is provided. • Patent number: 6364287
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a throttle return spring assembly for use in an electronic throttle unit having a throat and a valve rotatably fixed within the throat to close and open the throat. The throttle return spring assembly includes a shaft extending along a rotation axis and connected to the valve for opening and closing the throat of the throttle. A return spring has a first leg connected to the shaft and a second leg extending axially into an opening of a guide. The guide allows rotation of the return spring about the rotation axis and restricts lateral translation of the return spring. The guide has an arcuate inner radial wall defining a catch projecting radially inward. The return spring is wound by rotating the second leg to follow the arcuate surface and engage the catch. A special winding tool having a radial slot which engages the second leg can be piloted about the end of the shaft to wind the return spring.

  • Patent number: 6357631
Abstract: The container has a varied sized substance body chamber with a channel at an exit end. This channel is sealed by a breakaway tab at an end distant form the chamber. Within the channel is a positive seal valve that can reseal the container after it has initially been opened. This valve is comprised of an upper wall of the channel being in a close contact with the lower wall. The lower wall usually will have a concave shape, with the upper wall contacting the lower wall with a mating convex shape. However this is not required with the channel having many differing shapes and dimensions. This valve can be separated from the substance holding body chamber by a portion of the channel, can be at the junction of the storing chamber and the channel or can be at the junction of the exit of the channel. When a compressive pressure is applied to the substance holding chamber, the substance flows down the channel to the valve.
