Abstract: Enhanced antenna management for nodes is described in which transmit antennas assigned to at least one first carrier are designated for usage in a second carrier. The nodes transmit various signals and reference signals using a set of antenna ports on the second carrier based on the combined physical antennas associated with the first inactive carriers and physical antennas associated with the second carrier.
Abstract: A driving method of an electrophoretic display having at least one display particle is provided. The driving method includes the following steps. A first voltage difference is applied to a data line in a first period, in which the data line corresponds to one of the display particles. At least one particle restore period is inserted in the first period, and a second voltage difference is applied to the data line in the particle restore periods, in which the second voltage difference is different from the first voltage difference. With this method disclosed here, the maxima brightness, maxima darkness, contrast ratio, color saturation, bistability, and image updating time can be largely improved.
Abstract: An apparatus includes a first transceiver, at least two antennas coupled to the first transceiver to exchange one or more keys and phase data with a second transceiver via a plurality of rounds of phase data exchange, each round including: a first pilot signal sent from a first of the antennas of the first transceiver to the second transceiver, a second pilot signal received from the second transceiver, the second pilot signal modulated using a measured first phase of the first pilot signal, a third pilot signal received from the second transceiver; a fourth pilot signal sent from a second of the antennas of the first transceiver to the second transceiver, the fourth pilot signal modulated using a measured second phase of the third pilot signal, and wherein between the plurality of rounds of phase exchange, the first transceiver perturbs a radio frequency (RF) environment surrounding the at least two antennas.
Abstract: An intelligent door lock and remote access system includes a mobile device with a controller that transmits a first signal. A lock device has a controller and an accelerometer. In response to a receipt of the first signal the mobile device begins a process for locking and unlocking a door where the lock is located. The lock device includes a controller and an accelerator, with the accelerator acting upon processing of the first signal and in response causing a rotation of an element coupled to the accelerator to unlock the door.
Abstract: A system for reducing a risk of drowning in a pool includes a pool monitoring unit and a swim monitoring station. The pool monitoring unit is switchable between an activated state and a deactivated state. The pool monitoring unit is configured to detect entrance into the pool and/or movement in the pool and to output an alarm signal in response a detected entrance into the pool and/or movement in the pool when in the activated state. The swim monitoring station is configured to wirelessly communicate with one or more wearable alarm devices and the swim monitoring station is in wireless communication with the pool monitoring unit. The swim monitoring station is switchable between an off state and an on state. In the on state, the swim monitoring station is configured send a wireless signal to the pool monitoring unit to deactivate the pool monitoring unit.
Abstract: A data driver capable of displaying images with a substantially uniform brightness, an organic light emitting display device using the same, and a method of driving the organic light emitting display device. The data driver includes a plurality of current sink units for controlling predetermined currents to flow through data lines, a plurality of voltage generators for resetting values of gray scale voltages using compensation voltages generated when the predetermined currents flow, a plurality of digital-to-analog converters for selecting one gray scale voltage among the gray scale voltages as a data signal in response to bit values of the data supplied from the outside, and a plurality of switching units for supplying the data signal to the data lines. The predetermined currents may be set equal to pixel currents that correspond to a maximum brightness.

Abstract: A system for monitoring and tracking location of a tag paired to a tool is disclosed, the system comprising a communication unit to receive flag event data, the flag event data relating to a detected event, the flag event data including at least tag identification data, location data of the tag, detected event type, and time of occurrence of the detected event. The system comprises a storage unit to store data records of tags, the data records comprising a current tag location and data relating to the tool which is paired to the tag, and to store a set of instructions defined for handling flag event data. The system comprises a processing unit to receive flag event data, and to transmit a notification of the flag event data to other connected devices according to the stored set of instructions for handling the flag event data.
Abstract: A tunable microwave network and its application in a radio transceiver transmit signal cancellation network is described. The tunable microwave network realizes a large set of reflection coefficients over a predefined area in the complex reflection coefficient plane for the purpose of reflecting a variable cancellation signal which, when properly configured, results in the substantial attenuation of transmit reflection and transmit leakage signal at the radio transceiver receiver input. A relevant building block of the proposed tunable microwave network is a shunt tunable capacitive element coupled to another shunt tunable capacitive element through a phase shifting element with phase shift greater than 30 degrees divided by a quantity substantially similar to the total number of said tunable capacitive elements and less than 60 degrees at a predefined frequency.
Abstract: A processing system includes a sensor module and a determination module. The sensor module is coupled to sensor electrodes and is the sensor module configured to drive the sensor electrodes with sensing signals at a first resonance frequency of the pen. The determination module is configured to obtain, concurrently with the driving of the sensor electrodes, a measurements that are based on effects of the sensing signals, and a resonance of the pen in a sensing region. The determination module is further configured to determine positional information of the pen in the sensing region based on the measurements, and report the positional information.

Abstract: The operation of a conventional cellular telecommunications transceiver that forms part of a vehicle's telematics system can be selectively changed in order to provide telephone calls by providing the transceiver with a second and different SIM card. Providing a second SIM card, however, will disable telematics service that can include stolen vehicle tracking. A personal identification number or PIN is thus required in order for the information that is stored in an external, user-provided SIM card to be used by a telematics system transceiver rather than the information stored in a built-in SIM card that is provided by a telematics system operator/provider.

Abstract: A utensil storage monitoring system comprising a microprocessor, a serving utensil sensor in signal communication with the microprocessor, a clocking circuit and at least one alerting component. The system identifies when a serving utensil is removed from a serving utensil holster or a serving utensil rest and initiates the clocking circuit. The system monitors the status of the serving utensil and the passing time. When the passing time exceeds a predetermined allowable “in-use” time period, the system initiates an alert. The alert can be a visual alert, an audible alert, or any other alert. The alert can escalate if the serving utensil is not returned to the holster/rest in a timely manner. The system can associate a specific serving utensil with the respective monitoring system to avoid cross contamination. The system can additionally include a sterilization component. The system can be integrated into a utensil status and data acquisition system.

Abstract: A user device receives an image stream from the user side of the user device and an image stream from a target side of the user device. The user device acquires a coordinate system for the user, acquires its own coordinate system, and relates the two coordinate systems to a global coordinate system. The user device then determines whether the user has moved and/or whether the user device has moved. Movement of the user and/or the user device is used as input modalities to control the user's interactions in the augmented reality environment.
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods associated with a touch-sensitive input device including a plurality of keys, wherein each key of the plurality of keys includes at least one spring. Such a spring may include a substantially planar peak located at a central portion of the spring, a first substantially arcuate leg extending from the peak in a first direction, and a second substantially arcuate leg extending from the peak in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. In one embodiment, a resistive force provided by the at least one spring decreases after the peak travels a first distance from an initial position of the peak. In such an embodiment, the first distance is less than or equal to approximately ? of a range of travel of the peak.

Abstract: A software defined networking controller can be provided to manage sharing of information relating to roaming requests for mobile devices that are roaming on visited networks. The software defined networking controller can be a sub-instance of a main software defined networking controller that manages traffic within the home network, and the software defined networking controller can sit at the edge of the home network and control edge routing elements. The edge software defined networking controller may communicate with roaming partner's edge software defined networking controller and/or with the roaming interconnect operator's software defined networking controller to exchange roaming related information.
