  • Patent number: 9165170
Abstract: An RFID tag is configured to adjust its current clock frequency to conserve tag power while receiving a reader signal and/or backscattering a signal. The tag may determine whether to adjust its current clock frequency based on one or more timing parameters, which may be determined from a reader command and/or from a signal to be backscattered. The counting rate and/or limit of a tag counter and/or the power supplied to a tag component may also be adjusted. The current tag clock frequency may be adjusted during the signal reception/backscattering process and optionally restored once the process is completed.

  • Patent number: 9135479
Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a stand having a convex outer surface positioned to intercept and engage a vehicle tire as the vehicle tire passes over the convex stand surface. The height and contour of the convex stand surface slows the rotational rate of the vehicle tire, and thereby a transmitting device carried by the tire, to a preferred rotational read rate as the vehicle tire passes over the convex surface. One or more antenna members mount to the stand proximal to the convex surface, each antenna having a directionally aimed tilted antenna field positioned to continuously receive data transmission from the electronic transmitting device as the vehicle tire passes over the convex stand surface at the reduced rotational read rate.

  • Patent number: 9129505
Abstract: Method and system for monitoring a driver during movement of the vehicle includes an information obtaining system that obtains information about a driver who traveled the same road at a previous time, and a processor that analyzes the obtained information and vehicle movement to determine whether the driver has lost the ability to continue to control the vehicle. The loss of ability to continue to control the vehicle arises from the driver falling asleep or otherwise being incapable of controlling the vehicle after initially having been awake or otherwise capable of controlling the vehicle. A reactive component is affected by the processor's determination that the driver has lost the ability to continue to control the vehicle, and preferably requires action by the driver to indicate regaining of the ability to operate the vehicle or exerting control over the vehicle to slow the vehicle and bring it to a stop.
