  • Patent number: 7447914
Abstract: In the present invention, copyrights of digital data in a database system including real time transmission of a digital picture are controlled. Permit keys including a crypt key, are used when data which is encrypted and supplied is displayed, edited, stored, copied and transferred. As necessary, one or more of a copyright control program, copyright information or copyright control message are used, in addition to the permit key. The copyright control program, the copyright information and the copyright control message are supplied together with the permit key, or together with the data, or a part of them is supplied together with the permit key and the other part of them is supplied together with the data. The permit key, the copyright control message, the copyright information and the copyright control program are supplied with encryption or without encryption. The data is transmitted with encryption and is decrypted to be used, and may be encrypted again when stored, copied or transferred.

  • Patent number: 7360090
Abstract: A communication network includes an SS7 Security Gatekeeper that authenticates and validates network control messages within, transiting, entering and leaving an overlying control fabric such as an SS7 network. The SS7 Security Gatekeeper incorporates several levels of checks to ensure that messages are properly authenticated, valid, and consistent with call progress and system status. In addition to message format, message content is checked to ensure that the originating node has the proper authority to send the message and to invoke the related functions. Predefined sets of templates may be used to check the messages, each set of templates being associated with respective originating point codes and/or calling party addresses. The templates may also be associated with various system states such that messages corresponding to a particular template cause a state transition along a particular edge to a next state node at which another set of templates are defined. Thus, system and call state is maintained.

  • Patent number: 7328350
Abstract: A confidential datum, such as a private key used in public key signature systems, is secured in a digital wallet using a “generation camouflaging” technique. With this technique, the private key is not necessarily stored in the digital wallet, not even in an encrypted form. Instead, the wallet contains a private key generation function that reproduces the correct private key when the user inputs his or her pre-selected PIN. If the user inputs an incorrect PIN, an incorrect private key is outputted. Such private key can be configured so that it cannot be readily distinguished from the correct private key through the use of private key formatting, and/or the use of pseudo-public keys corresponding to the private key. The techniques described herein are also applicable to other forms of regeneratable confidential data besides private keys.

  • Patent number: 7278017
Abstract: A method for secure transmission of information from a digital pen to a receiving device is provided. The method includes obtaining, in the digital pen, a message in the form of a plurality of position indications recorded from a position code on a substrate; sending at least one of the position indications to a database device; receiving from the database device an address of a receiving device which is associated with the at least one position indication and an encryption key relating to the receiving device, the encryption key being associated with the at least one position indication; encrypting the message using the encryption key received from the database device; and transmitting the encrypted message to the address of the receiving device.
