Patent number: 4461116Abstract: A connecting member comprising an elastically deformable, tubular plug (1) slitted at the ends for interconnecting pairs of building components (9a,9b), which have coupling holes (8a,8b) to receive the ends of the connecting member, has apertures (3) in the plug wall between the slits (2), and the plug wall is formed with lengthwise extending clamping wedges (4) between the apertures (3), said clamping wedges having inclined faces which slope towards the ends of the connecting member and causing the connecting member to be compressed at the center and be expanded at the ends when it is pressed into a pair of co-axial holes in adjacent building components. The connecting member may in particular be formed with an annular flange (5) and end beads (6a,6b) which fit in corresponding annular grooves (7) in a pair of adjacent components (9a,9b).Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 1982Date of Patent: July 24, 1984Assignee: Interlego A.G.Inventor: Erik Bach

Patent number: 4452052Abstract: An earring structure is disclosed having an interior compartment which houses a removable perfume cartridge. The perfume cartridge comprises a cartridge base containing perfumed material, and a rotatable top piece having an aperture through which fragrance may escape from the perfumed material to the ambient. Rotation of the top piece relative to the cartridge base changes the aperture area which is exposed to the perfumed material, thus permitting the wearer to block the escape of fragrance when desired and providing an adjustable range of fragrance strengths.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1981Date of Patent: June 5, 1984Inventor: Margaret Hodge

Patent number: 4449321Abstract: A crib toy adapted for back and forth motion along a crib rail by operation of a reversing mechanism is described and illustrated. The reversing mechanism is constructed generally from a support plate spring biased between a first and second position. Journaled adjacent one edge of the support plate is a first and second gear for alternate engagement with a drive gear depending upon the position of the support plate. The support plate is reciprocally moved between the first and second position for respective engagement of the first and second gears with the drive gear by means of a single cam surface and cam follower. The engagement of the first gear with the drive gear causes the crib toy to move along the crib rail in one direction while engagement of the drive gear with the second gear causes movement in the opposite direction. An assembly is provided which further causes pivotal movement of certain parts of the crib toy to increase its play value.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1982Date of Patent: May 22, 1984Assignee: Meritus Industries, Inc.Inventor: Walter S. Patent number: 4446649Abstract: A unique block construction for forming toy blocks which can be either interconnected to form a train, or stacked on top of each other. A block according to the invention includes a coupling which has a retracted position in which it forms part of the basic block contour when the block is to be stacked, and which can be manipulated into a protracted position for coupling the block to another block to form a train.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1981Date of Patent: May 8, 1984Inventors: Walter Moe, Charles M. Patent number: 4428149Abstract: A toy balloon closure device of tubular configuration having a longitudinal slot therein extending the full length of the same and including an interior divider separating it into a first compartment and a second compartment; said divider having a central hole therein having a diameter greater than the width of said slot, a passage extending from said hole to said slot; said first compartment being adapted to receive the lips under tension of an inflated toy balloon through said slot and said second compartment being adapted to receive the twisted stem of said toy balloon through said slot whereby the tension induced by the normal elasticity of the rubberized balloon material and said tension enhanced by the twisting of the stem of the inflated balloon causing said device to seat firmly against the inflated balloon with sufficient supportive strength to allow the balloon to be held in a horizontal, vertical or angular position.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 1982Date of Patent: January 31, 1984Inventor: Paul L. Brown
