  • Patent number: 11792748
Abstract: A transmitter (e.g. a packet data convergence protocol, PDCP, in the transmitter), which may be a base station for downlink communications or a user equipment device for uplink communications, may control timing of the delivery of duplicate (same) packets to multiple (e.g. two) wireless links (e.g. radio link control links) for transmission to a receiver, based at least on synchronization information received from the receiver. The duplicate packets may be transmitted over the multiple wireless links to the receiver, which may receive the duplicate packets over the multiple wireless links. The receiver may collect and/or generate synchronization information indicative of the timing or latency between the multiple wireless links, based at least on the respective receive timings of the duplicate packets over the multiple wireless links. The receiver may transmit a report containing the synchronization information to the transmitter periodically and/or in response to a trigger event.

  • Patent number: 11778480
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing quasi-licensed spectrum allocation among two or more entities within a prescribed coverage or operational area. In one embodiment, the quasi-licensed spectrum utilizes 3.5 GHz CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) spectrum allocated between two or more Federal or commercial SASs (Spectrum Access Systems), for use by various service provider entities such as a managed content delivery network that includes one or more wireless access nodes (e.g., CBSDs). In one variant, each of two or more SAS entities generate both proposed allocations for themselves and other participating SAS entities with respect to available GAA spectrum, and differences between the proposed allocations are reconciled and condensed using a dynamic, iterative process to converge on a final allocation which fits the available GAA spectrum and which equitably distributes the spectrum between the participating SAS entities.

  • Patent number: 11777862
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of operating a low power wireless receiver in which a radio is periodically operable for receive intervals with sleep intervals therebetween and comprising a sleep clock having a sleep clock accuracy. A first transmission or packet is received. Based on a start moment of the first received packet, and an expected interval between packets, a nominal start moment is determined to start the radio for a packet window until a nominal end moment, for receiving a second packet; the packet window duration is extended in dependence on an estimated drift based on the SCA to provide a widened window. A start moment of a second received packet is measured within the widened window. An actual drift is calculated, from the start moment of the second packet; and an actual start moment and an actual window duration is determined, for receiving a third packet, based on the actual drift.

  • Patent number: 11750311
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are described which implement an internal Precision Time Protocol (PTP) instance on a stacked network device within a larger external PTP instance in the network to which the stacked network device. The internal instance of PTP is local to the stacked network device synchronizes the N devices (“members”) in the stack. Each of the members of the stacked network device may act as a BC in this local virtual instance of PTP. One member, which may be referred to as the commander node or primary member node, may synchronize its clock based on an external GSC or external BC, and then that member may act as a BC for a downstream member, and so on in an iterative manner until all of the members within the stacked network device have synchronized clocks. The individual members may also act as BCs to the external endpoints coupled thereto, providing PTP timestamp messages to those endpoints.

  • Patent number: 11722414
Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for device-level traffic shaping in a communications network. Embodiments operate in communication networks providing connectivity to large numbers of user-side network nodes via shared communications links. For example, customer premises equipment (CPE) devices behind one of the user-side network nodes are classified into device types according to a predetermined rate-relevant characteristic of the CPE device. Upon receiving a forward-link (FL) traffic flow destined for one of the CPE devices, the device type of the CPE device is identified, and the FL traffic flow is shaped in accordance with a traffic shaping policy that corresponds to CPE device type. Various embodiments are tailored to support architectures having device-level shapers and/or network address translators (NAT) in user-side network nodes and/or in a provider-side network node.

  • Patent number: 11716699
Abstract: A user equipment (UE), such as a full-duplex UE, may receive a downlink transmission from a first transmit-receive point (TRP) in a full-duplex multi-TRP configuration. The UE may perform an uplink transmission to a second TRP in the full-duplex multi-TRP configuration based at least in part on a timing advance adjustment associated with the uplink transmission. The UE may apply the timing advance adjustment based at least in part on an indication received from a base station. The indication may be to set a timing advance offset to a value that satisfies a threshold value based at least in part on the downlink transmission and the uplink transmission being associated with two different TRPs. The downlink transmission and the uplink transmission may not be separated by a guard symbol when the downlink transmission and the uplink transmission are associated with the two different TRPs, which may improve a resource utilization.

  • Patent number: 11706133
Abstract: The present technology pertains to a group-based network policy using Segment Routing over an IPv6 dataplane (SRv6). After a source application sends a packet, an ingress node can receive the packet, and if the source node is capable, it can identify an application policy and apply it. The ingress node indicates that the policy has been applied by including policy bits in the packet encapsulation. When the packet is received by the egress node, it can determine whether the policy was already applied, and if so, the packet is forward to the destination application. If the egress node determines that the policy has not be applied the destination application can apply the policy. Both the ingress node and egress nodes can learn of source application groups, destination application groups, and applicable policies through communication with aspects of the segment routing fabric.

  • Patent number: 11695704
Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for reducing the size of packet headers without reducing the range of packet lengths supported. A packet header includes a fixed-width length field. Using a linear encoding, the maximum packet size is a linear function of the fixed-width length field. Thus, to expand the range of sizes available, either the granularity of the field must be decreased (e.g., by changing the measure of the field from flits to double-flits) or the size of the field must be increased (e.g., by changing the size of the field from 4 bits to 5 bits). However, by using a non-linear encoding, the difference between the minimum and maximum size can be increased without decreasing the granularity within a first range of field values and without increasing the size of the length field.
