Abstract: An inference engine titled the Waste, Opportunity, and Risk Engine Query Language or (WORE-QL) that links rules to any business objects in a workplace source system. The rules are constructed from small building blocks of business logic (small rule sets) that operate on information contained in various objects. WORE-QL promotes cultural and engineering principles and values for teams to more quickly deliver high quality while generating textual analyses and recommendations for changes associated with a project or roll up of projects with approximate cost, time, resource, and application-based savings.

Abstract: The disclosed technologies can compute inferred taste preferences relating to food products and food providers using objectively verifiable data, including order data, and use these inferred taste preferences to create new functionality in an information search and retrieval system and/or a product ordering system.

Abstract: Embodiments provide approaches to selectively integrate with various providers based on reliability factors, user preferences, and/or other criteria. For example, a user in a location where an on-demand provider is available may attempt to utilize services provided by the on-demand provider in a different location where the on-demand provider has limited or no services available, but where one or more other on-demand providers may be available. The user may attempt to access services provided by the on-demand provider using an application provided by the on-demand provider. However, in the situation where the user is in the location where services provided by the on-demand provider are not available, the user would have to secure other means of accessing those services. In such a situation the user may be able to utilize the application to request services with at least one partner on-demand provider.

Abstract: A quantity sensing storage device enables automatic ordering of a product using an ordering engine that monitors quantity signals generated by a quantity sensor that is configured to provide the quantity signals based on a quantity of a first set of a product stored at the quantity sensing storage device. Base on the quantity of the first set, the ordering engine determines whether an order threshold has been satisfied. The quantity sensing storage device automatically provides instructions to a service provider device via a wireless communication subsystem to order a second set of the product in response to determining that the order threshold has been satisfied. The ordering engine continuously updates the order threshold such that when the second set of the product is received by a user of the quantity sensing storage device, an optimal portion of the first set of the product remains stored in the storage enclosure.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include computer-implemented systems and processes that perform operations that initiate, approve, and execute exchanges of data between network-connected systems, apparatuses, and devices in a computing environment. For example, a network-connected apparatus may receive a first value of a parameter that characterizes an exchange of data initiated at a terminal device, identify a second value of the parameter allocated to the client device. In response to a determination that the first parameter value exceeds the second parameter value, the apparatus may request, and receive, parameter data from an application program executed by the at least one processor. The parameter data may identify a third value of the parameter allocated to the client device by the executed application program, and the apparatus may authorize, based on the second and third parameter values, a performance of the initiated data exchange in accordance with the first parameter value.

Abstract: Notifying customers of available efficiencies via updates to electronic menus, personal notifications, etc. is described herein. As an example, a computing system can receive a first request indicating that an item that is offered for sale by a merchant that has been requested by a customer and can determine an efficiency associated with combining the first request with a second request from another customer. Such an efficiency, for example, can comprise sharing an item on a menu or preparing multiple items together instead of individually. The computing system can notify, in near real-time and based at least partly on determining the efficiency associated with combining the first request and the second request, at least the other customer about the efficiency. In some examples, the other customer can be notified via an update to the electronic menu, a personal notification to a user computing device, etc.

Abstract: Interaction data provides information about particular items that have been picked or placed from a particular fixture. A radio signal that conveys designation data indicative of a particular user is coupled to a body of the user. A smart floor tile may emit the radio signal that is electromagnetically coupled to the user and propagates along the user's body. As the hand of the user approaches the fixture, the radio signal is received using antennas at the fixture. When the user touches an item, the propagation pathway may improve, resulting in an increase in received signal strength. By using information about the radio signal and the known location of the antennas, information such as a position of a hand of the user or which item has been picked or placed may be determined.

The sever is configured to receive account numbers over the computer network, determine that an occurrence of one of the account numbers in the plurality of account numbers exceeds a maximum limit, and via the computer network update the pre-authorization database with the account number. The POS terminal is configured to receive a pre-authorization request that includes an authorization amount and the account number, query the pre-authorization database with the account number, and after locating the account number in the pre-authorization database from the query (a) confirm that the authorization amount is not greater than an authorization threshold, and (b) without generating an online authorization request, save in a clearing database an authorization confirmation message that includes the account number and the authorization amount.

Abstract: A scanner is integrated as a peripheral device into a POS terminal. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are selectively activated and deactivated during item scanning for items being processed during a transaction at the POS terminal. The activation and deactivation of the LEDs are visible to an overhead security camera during the transaction. The selective activation and deactivation providing indications during the transaction as to whether the items are successfully scanned or unsuccessfully scanned during the transaction as the items are passed in front of at least one scan window of the scanner.

A computing system may receive, from a financial institution system, an authentication request message comprising a first offline token. The computing system may determine that the mobile wallet application is not online and determine that the first offline toke comprises first offline token data that matches the first offline token reference data. The computing system may send to the financial institution system a first authentication message indicating that the first offline token is associated with the mobile wallet application.

The method may further include transforming the pixelated data into written text and creating an Image Replacement Document (“IRD”) of the check. The IRD may include the payor name, the payor address, the bank account number, the routing number, and the written text.

Abstract: Disclosed are method and apparatus that enable a cardless payment transaction to be executed from a merchant point-of-sale (POS) system. A user is enabled to check in at a merchant by using a mobile device of the user and then to pay by simply appearing at the merchant and mentioning his name. By emulating card read events and intercepting receipt printer outputs, the technique cleanly integrates into a conventional merchant POS system, without the need for customized software or hardware to accommodate individual POS vendor-proprietary application programming interfaces (APIs).

Pre-determined payment options can be configured by a provider, asset holder, and/or potential asset holder. The pre-determined payment options can include an option for financing a balance. A configurable financing option may enable a guarantor to request terms and receive automatic approval, subject to authorized terms.

Some embodiments may include a point-of-sale system including a first consumer device of a stable spatial cluster of consumer devices to serve as a communication beacon. The first consumer device, that serves as the communication beacon, is configured to transmit and receive signals between a server and the other consumer devices of the stable spatial cluster of consumer devices. The other consumer devices receive a beacon identifier from the first consumer device and are thereby associated with a point-of-sale order to facilitate suitable point-of-sale functionality that may be provided via the first consumer device.

A server may be configured to receive the image from the processor and process the image to identify one or more types of products that may be present on the pressure sensitive mat for each product package detected to be present on the pressure sensitive mat based on a combination of two or more of a shape of the product package, one or more dimensions of the product package, or a weight of the product package.
