  • Patent number: 4549596
Abstract: A frame for stretching artists' canvases comprises hollow sections (1, 2), in the recesses of which are inserted an insert (3, 3') that forms an angle at the corners. Each insert has a notch (4, 4') in which the bent end of a square spring (5, 5') fits. The spring is solid at the other end with a block (6, 6') that can slide in a guide (1', 2') and is provided with a tension screw (7, 7'). By the screw being tightened, the sections (1, 2) are thrust outward, leaving a space (10) between them, and causing the stretching of the canvas.

  • Patent number: 4545418
Abstract: A locking device for center fold hangar doors having an upper leaf and a lower leaf arranged when closed in vertically superimposed relation for movement relative to one another on a fixed horizontal axis to an elevated open position. A device is affixed to the abutting edges of the upper and lower leaf portions of the door having right angularly disposed telescopically positioned tubular members, one of which is pivoted to the doors on said horizontal axis and the other of which is secured at its outermost end to a bracket forming a portion of the device positioned in horizontally spaced relation to the doors. Locking means alternately secures the telescopically positioned tubular members to one another or permits their free telescopic movement. The device serves to lock the upper and lower leaf portions of the hangar door in vertically superimposed relation when the door is closed.

  • Patent number: 4537237
Abstract: Our sectional overhead door is allowed to louver through machine mechanisms we have designed. The door louvers allowing ventilation, natural lighting, privacy, and security. These features can be utilized while the door is in the closed position, still allowing for the door to be raised in its normal manner. The louvering angle can be adjusted and locked by the use of one lever, thus allowing for maximum security while in the locked and louvered position. The bottom section will not louver for the purpose of additional security. Through the use of louvering, the above features can be achieved without changing the outward appearance of the structure.

  • Patent number: 4535830
Abstract: One end of the retraction spring of a lateral-traction roller shade is fastened to an interior rod that is stationary once it has been installed. The other end of the spring is fastened to a carrier bushing that rotates on the interior rod. The shaft of the shade is attached to the bushing and one end of a retention and clamping spring that surrounds the rod is fastened inside the bushing in such a way that the spring will rotate along with it. The other end of the spring is positioned in the path traveled by a drive segment on a sheave when the shade is lowered and in front of a drive rib on the bushing that is also positioned in the path. The raising of the shade is thus facilitated by the retraction spring.
