Abstract: A frame for stretching artists' canvases comprises hollow sections (1, 2), in the recesses of which are inserted an insert (3, 3') that forms an angle at the corners. Each insert has a notch (4, 4') in which the bent end of a square spring (5, 5') fits. The spring is solid at the other end with a block (6, 6') that can slide in a guide (1', 2') and is provided with a tension screw (7, 7'). By the screw being tightened, the sections (1, 2) are thrust outward, leaving a space (10) between them, and causing the stretching of the canvas.
Abstract: An overhead door, particularly intended for use in a structure having a wide opening, includes an upper section pivotally mounted by hinges to the header beam of the structure, and a taller lower section pivotally mounted to the bottom of the upper section by hinges. Guide tracks are mounted on the side door jambs of the building, and guide rollers are mounted adjacent each lateral side edge of the lower section arranged to be movably captured by the guide tracks during folding and unfolding of the door in opening and closing. A plurality of lift cables are connected at one of their ends to laterally spaced positions along the width of the lower door section and at the same height preferably above its vertical midpoint but below the point where the upper and lower sections are hinged together by a distance equal to or greater than the height of the upper section. The opposite ends of the lift cables are connected to a counterbalance.
Abstract: A locking device for center fold hangar doors having an upper leaf and a lower leaf arranged when closed in vertically superimposed relation for movement relative to one another on a fixed horizontal axis to an elevated open position. Abstract: A pleat screen includes a screen sheet having a plurality of zig-zag pleats and vertically foldable and unfoldable by an operator cord. At least one tape extends vertically through the pleats. Holders are mounted on the tape in engagement with selected ones of the pleats for supporting, from below, the selected pleats to prevent the pleats from being lowered due to their own weight when the screen sheet is vertically unfolded.
Abstract: There is disclosed a sunscreen and thermal insulation assembly which may be constructed on site, formed by a screen frame base having an upper end and lower end terminating in a lower nose end having gripping means associated therewith, the screen frame base also including locking means formed thereon, a screen frame insert having an upper end terminating in a top edge and a lower end terminating in a lower nose end having second gripping means associated therewith, the screen frame insert having mating locking means formed thereon for mating engagement with the first locking means of the screen frame base, and also including mounting means formed thereon, a glass frame section adapted to carry a glass panel having mating engagement means for mounting with the mounting means on the screen frame insert, each of the screen frame base and screen frame insert and glass frame sections being adapted to be cut into correspondingly equal sections thereby to create an assembly which may overlie an existing window to f
Abstract: A tilter mechanism for a slatted blind where the mechanism has a worm gear rotatably mounted in a first mounting means and a toothed worm wheel rotatably mounted in a second mounting means and in normal meshing engagement with the worm gear. The toothed wheel has a consecutive series of teeth of lesser height than the remainder of the teeth. Resilient means are provided with at least one of the mounting means to allow the wheel to move relatively away from the gear so that the gear may slip over the shortened teeth to act as a slip clutch.
Abstract: A blind assembly of the type supported within a window frame of a camper, van or similar vehicle, is provided to provide quick installation and removal as well as positional stability once the assembly is in place. The blinds which obscure or block the passage of light include a plurality of strips 12 supported in parallel fashion by strings 14 extending between top and bottom header beams 16. The invention is characterized by a support means 18 interconnecting the ends of the header beams 16 and the support structure which support means 18 includes a slide bar 24 for supporting the assembly when in the extended support position and axially retractable to a retracted position for installing and removing the assembly with a manually actuatable handle 26 extending radially from the slide bar 24 for moving the slide bar 24 between the support and retracted positions.
Abstract: A garage door and opener which can be manufactured as separate units and shipped in pre-assembled units and which can be easily and quickly assembled and installed by one or more persons. The door and the operator are self-contained in the units and all of the wiring and apparatus including the door and rails are self-contained in the units.

Abstract: A window having a blind disposed between interior and exterior panes of glass. A glazed interior door is movably disposed on the lower frame of a glazed exterior door, and the blind is disposed between these doors to form a double-glazed door. A plurality of sash rollers are movably mounted to the lower frame of the interior door and capable of moving along the rails mounted to the lower frame of the exterior door. Screws are detachably screwed into the interior and exterior doors to prevent these doors from moving relative to each other. The double-glazed door is arranged on the rails in the sash via a plurality of sash rollers which are rotatably mounted to the lower frame of the exterior door.
Abstract: A box-like container typically used in the transportation of cargo by air having an improved door closure apparatus. The favored air cargo container has a base pallet having a front and rear hoop attached thereto, to which aluminum sheets are attached to enclose the container leaving one or more door openings. Each of the hoops consists of two corner posts and a top crosspiece member therebetween. A piece of fabric material sufficient to cover the door opening of the container is attached to the crosspiece member above the door opening. An elongate bar extends along the bottom width of the fabric material. Pins on the elongate bar will engage hooks on the corner posts. A pair of cables are attached at either end of the elongate bar below the pins and extend upward along and are attached to each side of the fabric material and then diagonally across the back of the fabric piece to the other end of the elongate bar.
Abstract: Our sectional overhead door is allowed to louver through machine mechanisms we have designed. The door louvers allowing ventilation, natural lighting, privacy, and security. These features can be utilized while the door is in the closed position, still allowing for the door to be raised in its normal manner. The louvering angle can be adjusted and locked by the use of one lever, thus allowing for maximum security while in the locked and louvered position. The bottom section will not louver for the purpose of additional security. Through the use of louvering, the above features can be achieved without changing the outward appearance of the structure.

Abstract: One end of the retraction spring of a lateral-traction roller shade is fastened to an interior rod that is stationary once it has been installed. The other end of the spring is fastened to a carrier bushing that rotates on the interior rod. The shaft of the shade is attached to the bushing and one end of a retention and clamping spring that surrounds the rod is fastened inside the bushing in such a way that the spring will rotate along with it. The other end of the spring is positioned in the path traveled by a drive segment on a sheave when the shade is lowered and in front of a drive rib on the bushing that is also positioned in the path. The raising of the shade is thus facilitated by the retraction spring.
Abstract: A thermally efficient window shade that folds into attractive pleats in the raised position. The shade is fabricated from a laminated insulating material composed of encapsulated air bubbles in combination with one or more skins. The shade folding properties are obtained by slitting the laminate partially through the laminate at predetermined locations.
