Abstract: A fishing flasher device which is configured to be attached to a main fishing line to be drawn through the water, generally by trolling behind a slowly moving water vessel. The flasher device has an on-axis mainline attachment on the forward end to produce a spinning or rotational movement about the axis of the mainline. The flasher device also has at least one off-axis mainline attachment at the forward end configured to produce an orbiting motion rather than a rotational movement of the flasher device. A trailing line is generally attached to a trailing line attachment point on the rearward end of the flasher device to which is connected lures, bait, hooks, etc. for catching fish.

  • Patent number: 9686977
Abstract: A waterfowl decoy device provides remote control to raise and lower decoys attached to a moving hub such that the decoys simulate flight. The device includes a hub and a support arm coupled to the hub. The support arm is movable relative to the hub such that a distal end of the support arm relative to the hub is selectively raised and lowered relative to a position of the hub. A decoy is coupled to the distal end of the support arm wherein raising and lowering of the distal end of the support arm imparts elevation and descent motion to the decoy. The hub is further structured to rotate the support arm imparting motion to the decoy simulating flight.

  • Patent number: 9675044
Abstract: An animal enrichment device that includes a support coupled to a base and a mobile member coupled to the support such that the mobile member can move relative to the base and/or the support. The mobile member includes at least one food retaining element, which provides a first mode of food release. The mobile member and/or the support is at least partially hollow for storing food therein. Efforts by the animal to remove food from the at least one food retaining element will cause the mobile member to move relative to the base and intermittently release the food stored within the mobile member and/or the support, which provides a second mode of food release.

  • Patent number: 9326458
Abstract: A device attaches to the trunks of plants and trees to prevent snails from reaching the upper portion of the plant or tree which has leaves and fruit subject to attack from the snails. Embodiments of the device have an inner funnel-shaped sleeve which biases against the tree trunk to provide a sufficiently tight closure to prevent snails from climbing between the trunk and the device. Embodiments of the device have a downward facing surface having a plurality of closely-spaced downwardly facing spike members. These spike members are sufficiently closely spaced so as to substantially or completely prevent snails, including small-sized young snails, from moving across the downwardly facing surface to crawl around the outside of the device to gain access to the upper portion of the tree.

  • Patent number: 9266597
Abstract: An airship hull is provided that is sufficiently light and cost effective so as to make lifting body type airships practical vehicles for carrying people and cargo. The present invention hull design includes three main structural features, i.e., a rigid internal main frame which carries all primary moment and shear loads induced in the vehicle, the vehicle's skin which forms a semi-rigid barrier membrane for the lighter-than-air lifting gas, and a rigid aeroshell frame interposed between the main frame and the skin. The aeroshell frame and skin, in combination, are referred to as the aeroshell. The aeroshell carries the aerodynamic pressure loads induced on the airship.

  • Patent number: 9242720
Abstract: A slat cove filler is utilized to reduce airframe noise resulting from deployment of a leading edge slat of an aircraft wing. The slat cove filler is preferably made of a super elastic shape memory alloy, and the slat cove filler shifts between stowed and deployed shapes as the slat is deployed. The slat cove filler may be configured such that a separate powered actuator is not required to change the shape of the slat cove filler from its deployed shape to its stowed shape and vice-versa. The outer contour of the slat cove filler preferably follows a profile designed to maintain accelerating flow in the gap between the slat cove filler and wing leading edge to provide for noise reduction.
