  • Patent number: 8964551
Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling, according to an additive increase multiplicative decrease (AIMD) principle, the bandwidth sharing among contending traffic flows over a transport network between a radio network controller and a radio base station. According to the method, a relative bit-rate (RBR) is determined (210) for each traffic flow; and the bit-rates of said traffic flows are controlled (220) such that additive increase operations of said AIMD principle depend on the respective RBR of each traffic flow. Embodiments of the invention strive at supporting Gold, Silver and Bronze HSDPA and/or EUL bit-rate subscriptions over a single TN QoS class.

  • Patent number: 8953599
Abstract: In general, techniques are for providing a direct forwarding path between virtual routers within a single virtualized routing system. In one example, a method includes combining forwarding information from a plurality of virtual routers into collapsed forwarding information that comprises one or more direct forwarding paths between the respective virtual routers. The method also includes determining a direct forwarding path to an egress interface of the second virtual router, in response to receiving a network packet at an ingress interface of a first virtual router. The method also includes forwarding the network packet from the ingress interface of the first virtual router to the egress interface of the second virtual router using the direct forwarding path, wherein the network packet traverses a switch fabric directly from the ingress interface of the first virtual router to the egress interface of the second virtual router.

  • Patent number: 8948062
Abstract: RRHs are physically independent from each other, are arranged in different positions, respectively, receive uplink signals from a radio terminal and transmit downlink signals to the radio terminal. A central processing unit receives the uplink signals from the plurality of RRHs and transmits the downlink signals to the plurality of RRHs. A setting unit sets a part or all of the RRHs as RRH(s) in a first group suitable for transmission of the downlink user data based on the uplink or downlink signals received by at least one of the RRHs. A transmission control unit controls the transmission of the downlink user data from the plurality of RRHs based on the setting.

  • Patent number: 8914471
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices provide mechanisms and systems for efficiently delivering files over a broadcast system to mobile devices. Files for broadcast may be logically identified as belonging to a directory in a file system. A Broadcast Schedule Message may inform receiver devices of files that will be broadcast at a specified time, as well as describe the files. File may be transmitted in file delivery pipes, which may be of different bandwidth and data rates. Receiver devices configured according to the embodiments may make use of the broadcast schedule message to select files to be received based on the service or application with which the file is associated, and whether the file is new or an update to a previously received file. Receiver devices activate receiver circuitry to capture the files within their advertised broadcast window, and pass the received files to applications or services requesting the files.

  • Patent number: 8908571
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and mitigating interference between from a first wireless time division duplex (TDD) communications device and a second wireless TDD communications device includes processing quality-indicator reports received from the first TDD device to determine if reception at the first TDD device has experienced interference from the second TDD device. Such interference at the first TDD device may indicate that the first TDD device may also cause interference to reception at the second TDD device. Accordingly, to mitigate the possible interference from the first TDD device, an uplink configuration of the first TDD base station may be adjusted. The adjustment of the uplink configuration may include configuring reception of data packets at the first TDD base station from the first TDD device in accordance with an interference-free time interval, an unprotected time interval, or a specific portion of an associated frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8902912
Abstract: A differential frame-based scheduling scheme is employed for input queued (IQ) switches with virtual output queues (VOQ). Differential scheduling adjusts previous scheduling based on a traffic difference in two consecutive frames. To guarantee quality of service (QoS) with low complexity, the adjustment first reserves some slots for each port pair in each frame, then releases surplus allocations and supplements deficit allocations according to a dichotomy order, designed for high throughput, low jitter, fairness, and low computational complexity.

  • Patent number: 8885496
Abstract: A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) on a user equipment (UE) is described. A number of bits for a channel quality indicator and/or a precoding matrix index and/or a rank indication (CQI/PMI/RI) is obtained. A number of component carriers with hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) reporting is also obtained. A total number of HARQ-ACK bits is further obtained. A number of HARQ-ACK bits that can be carried on the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) is determined. Bundling is performed on the total number of HARQ-ACK bits to be reported to fit the total number of HARQ-ACK bits to be reported into the number of HARQ-ACK bits that can be carried on the PUCH. A backward compatible PUCCH format is used to simultaneously carry the CQI/PMI/RI bits and the HARQ-ACK bits.

  • Patent number: 8830985
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and mitigating interference between from a wireless time division duplex (TDD) communications device and a wireless frequency division duplex (FDD) communications device includes processing quality-indicator reports received from the FDD device to determine if the FDD device has experienced interference from the TDD device. Such interference may be mitigated by adjusting a downlink configuration of the FDD base station in communication with the FDD device. To detect and mitigate interference from an FDD device to a TDD device, it is determined if a monitored value of an operational parameter of the FDD device is within a fixed range of a maximum value of the operational parameter, and if so, a specific time interval or frequency of the FDD device is assigned for communication purposes. Similar interference detection and mitigation techniques may also be used for interference scenarios between two TDD systems including TDD devices.
